Desmond’s POV
.
I’ve been here since yesterday evening after I was arrested by the Russian police but I still don’t know what I’m accused of.
It can’t possibly be because I carried a gun cause they don’t even know I have a gun with me.
The way they approached me shows that they are after me, they are very certain I’m the one they are looking for.
There are still lots of questions that needs to be answered because the way they tend to me shows that they know all about me.
They removed my beard and mustache turning me back to my actual look as MIA and locked me in a cell.
This is what I’ve been trying to avoid every time I’m going out on a mission in a foreign country.
One of the officer came to the cell and unlocked it and told me to follow him and I did.
I followed him to one of the desk and I was told to write down my details.
” I can’t do that unless I know exactly what I’m being accused of” I said.
” Are you seriously asking us that question?…..you killed a Russian…… you’re accused for the murder of Nikolai Polovski” the detective said and I was shocked.
” Whaaaaaaaat…….. that’s a lie” I said.
” A lie?……well I hope you have a better explanation than that cause there are witness that confirmed that you did” he said.
” Whaaat…… what witness?……who are they?” I asked.
” They are Mr Polovski’s guard……they confirmed that you’re the one” he said.
” This is crazy……this is a set up….you have to believe me” I said.
” Believe you?…… we found a gun on you with the same bullet that killed Mr Polovski…..and you said I should believe you?…… you’ve got to be kidding me” he said.
” Your case has been processed and we will transfer you to court in two days” he said.
? ” This is not good, what should I do cause I need to get out of here, i can’t go to prison” I thought then I decided to call the colonel.
” I need to make a call” I said.
” Give me a sec” he said.
” You only have a one-time caller” he said then give me a phone then I dialled the Colonel’s number.
? ” Hello” I heard the colonel.
? ” Hello sir, this is Blackbird” I said.
? ” Ohh…..thank God you’re okay, agent mackerel called me not long ago, she said she has hear from you” he said.
? ” Actually Sir, I’ve been arrested by the local authorities” I said.
? ” Whaaat…….how did that happen?” He asked.
? ” I don’t know sir, after we completed the mission they just came for me and took me to their precinct” I said.
? ” What’s the accusations?” He asked.
? ” They said an eyewitness saw me killing the man which is not true” I said.
? ” No….this can’t be happening, this is what I’m afraid of” he said.
? ” Sir, what are we going to do now………they told me I will be taken to court in two days” I said.
? ” Whaaat…….uhmm, you know what lemme make some call or perhaps I should just come over” he said .
? ” Alright Sir” I said.
? ” Just keep calm………I’ll work on it” he said then ended the call.
After call with the colonel I started thinking who could be after me, I’m very certain someone is after me.
I’ll do I fight who don’t see or know, could it be agent mackerel?, Is this her way to get back at me?
I hope she’s not the one, I hope any of this has nothing to do with her cause that will really mess things up.
But who could it be?, I’ve been very careful with my enemies, I made sure none of them get back up.
After I’ve done everything they needed me to I was sent back to my cell.

{Few hours later}

I was sitting on the chair still thinking when one of the officers showed up and unlocked my cell.
” You have a visitor” he said and I went out then he lead me outside and I saw agent mackerel.
I sat on the chair before her and She was looking at me confused and I wondered what’s wrong with her.
” You got five minutes” the officer said then left.
” Why are you staring at me like that?…is it weird that you see me in cuffs” I asked.
” Blackbird?” She called still looking confused.
” Yeah, and you’re acting weird” I said.
” But you look different” she said then I realized the reason for her behavior.
” Oh that…..the beard and mustache is undercover” I said.
” Wooww, I totally underestimated you……you look younger without it and you look familiar as well” she said.
” What do you mean familiar?…..we already know each other” I said.
” That’s not what I meant…….you look like….like the police officer MIA” she said.
” Ohh…..that” I said sarcastically.
” Oh My God……. you’re him, it’s you” she said.
” Yeah……how did you know I’m here?” I asked.
” The colonel call me and told me what happened?……..how did this happen?” She asked.
” They came for me straight away without much questioning, Tell me are you behind this?……is this your way of getting back at me for what I did” I asked.
” Whaaat?……NO..NO, I would never do something like this to you, you have to trust me, I swear with my life” she said convincingly.
” If not you then who?……who is playing me?” I said.
” Do you have any idea who?” She asked.
” I don’t know but I have a feeling someone is onto me” I said.
” What is the colonel saying about this?” I asked.
” He’s on a plane to here along with his brother the DIG Martins,…..do you know him?” She asked and I nodded.
” Of course…… don’t worry you will get out of here” she said.
” I just can’t help but think this is all my fault, I shouldn’t have suggest we go for the man” she said.
” It’s not your fault………we did the right thing” I said.
” Let’s just wait for the colonel”

Author’s POV

The colonel and his brother DIG Martins reach the commissioner’s office here in Russia.
” Good morning, Mr sukinov ” Col Martin said as they entered.
” Oh you’re here……. colonel Martins Right?” The commissioner said he shook his hand.
” Yes and this is my brother” he said referring to the DIG and they shook hands also.
” Please have your seat” the commissioner offered and they say down.
” How is Nigeria?” He asked.
” Nigeria is blooming in greatness” the Col said.
” That’s great…….. please forgive my manners, what would you like to have?” He asked.
” No…..No need for that, we came for something very important” the DIG said.
” Oh yeah, about that I still don’t understand what Colonel Alexander was saying on phone but he told me you will come see me” the commissioner said.
” It’s about a Nigerian that was arrested yesterday” the Col said.
” You mean the one that killed one of our own?” The commissioner asked.
” Actually that’s not how it goes” the DIG Said.
” There are witness that wanted to testify against him, he has been charged to court already” the commissioner said.
” Let me come clean with you commissioner, the man is not a civilian, he’s one of our agents….and he was sent here on a mission” the Col said.
” You know the meaning of what you did colonel?…….. you are having your mission on a foreign soil without any military permission”
” You know what will happen if this gets out…….it might start a war, you came to our land and started shooting around and dead bodies around”
” How would you feel if you found out a stranger was in your land doing the same thing how do you think this will go”
” And you did so without any local authorities, you know this could ruin your career and that of your agent” the commissioner said.
” Commissioner, I understand what you’re trying to say but you should hear me out”
” You knew who this man is and dangerous he was, he and the others are causing our country great danger and your government aren’t doing anything about it” the Col said.
” What makes you think we are not working on it,….. we’ve been looking for a way to shut him down but he has alot of inside people helping him” the commissioner said.
” You see?…… instead of sending him to prison we should help him, he clear our enemies so we could all have a piece of mind ” the Col said.
” Still that doesn’t justify the fact that he killed one of our own in our land, listen as much as I’d like to help him I can’t”
” They wanted to make him an example for a stranger killing one of ours” the commissioner said.
” Even for the fact that he also helped you?” The DIG said.
” Look we all understand what he did and some of us are grateful our threat is gone but they can’t let this go like that” the commissioner said.
” How about you help us by transferring him to Nigeria so he can serve his punishment over there” the Col said.
” They won’t allow that until he has been sentenced to prison so we have to wait until then before we can start talking about transferring him” the commissioner said.
” So all you’re saying is he has to go to prison, no matter what” the DIG said.
” That’s the only way to resolve it, it’s the best to keep things calm” the commissioner said and they sighed.
“….you don’t have to worry i will discuss the issue with the others and whatever the outcome is…… I’ll surely let you know” the commissioner said.
” It’s okay…….. thank you commissioner” the Col said.
” You’re welcome” he replied and they left his office.

(AFTERNOON)
.
Agent mackerel, DIG Martins and Col Martins all went to the precinct to discuss the outcome with desmond.
” Blackbird,……how are you holding up?” The Col asked.
” I’m okay at least for now…….so how did it go?” Desmond asked and their countenance changed.
” I’m sorry……we are unable to convince them, we tried” the Col said.
” So that means I’m going to prison” desmond said.
” We will work on it Mike,……we will” the DIG said.
” Yes we will…… I’m still talking to the Russian authorities about transferring you to Nigeria but they told me it’s going to take a while but I promise, we will pull through” the Col said.
” Okay sir, thank you” Desmond said.
” Do you mind if I have a word with him alone?” The DIG said.
” Yeah” they said and both agent mackerel and the Colonel left leaving them alone.
” I’m really sorry about this Mike” DIG Martins apologized.
” What for sir?” Desmond asked.
” It’s my fault that you’re in this position……you told me you wanted to quit only to get pulled into all this,….I should’ve stopped my brother” he said.
” It’s not your fault sir……you know very well this is what I love to do,…..I know the risk that came with all this” Desmond said.
” You’re like a son to me and I will never leave you a situation like this, I’ll do everything I can to get you out” he said.
” Thank you sir, thank you so much for everything, for being there for me for all those years” Desmond said.
” We will work something out very soon, okay” he said.
” Alright Sir, thank you” Desmond replied then the DIG stood up and left.

(FIVE DAYS LATER)
Unknown POV
.
I’m here in Russia according to my plans I Lodge in a hotel to settle down, I planned to go over to see the man tomorrow.
I heard he has been sentenced to 17 years in prison but that’s not my worry cause I have a plan concerning that.
Tomorrow is going to be a big day cause it’s where it’s all getting started, but first I need to do some things.
I need to make sure my men are ready to carry out the plan so I pulled out my phone to call Bosar.
? ” Hello boss” bozar said.
? ” Bosar, how is it going?” I asked.
? ” Everything is set boss” he said.
? ” Okay , make no mistake……carry it out perfectly……and don’t aroused any suspicion” I said.
? ” Sure thing boss” he replied.
? ” Good, tomorrow……wait for my signal” I said.
? ” Okay boss” he said then I ended the call.

Good, that’s been taken care of, Now let me inform the man of my coming, I know he will be very eager to see me.
I wrote a letter and after I’m through I called one of my Russian connection in the police and we met.
He told me the location of the prison and also that he has made everything ready for me in case I came to visit.
” Have everything set, I’ll be coming over tomorrow” I said.
” Okay sir” he replied.
” Give this to the latest inmate” I said giving him the letter.
” Okay sir” he replied.
” Thank you”I replied then we depart.

Desmond’s POV
.
Since the Col and his brother failed in their attempt to get me out, I was taken to court and charged with murder.
Those that testified against me are strange cause they are not part of Mr Polovski’s men, the question is why are they doing this?.
I was sentenced to seventeen(17) years in prison, I was taken to the prison which is where I am right now.
At least it’s not like that of Nigeria, I get to have my own bed and do exercise as well cause there’s a gym we can use.
My fellow inmates in the prison are giving me a dangerous glare but I waved it off, I hope I won’t be spending the next seventeen years with these people.
So I won’t be seeing my family again till the next seventeen years, they would’ve thought I’m dead, I just hope they are safe.
” Heyy you” the warden called and I went over to him.
” Here, this is for you” he said giving me a letter.
” From who?……who sent this?” I asked but he left without answering me.
I looked around before opening the letter then I read the message.

? ” Hey there, I know you must be wondering who sent you this letter but that’s not what you should concern yourself about.
The day of your misery has just started and it continue still, I know you’re smart and clever you must have noticed that something isn’t right about all of this.
All of this is plan and plans never fail cause I’m a master planner, all of this is my doing and there’s more to come.
Everything that happens to you happened because of you, for your past mistake and I’m to make sure you regret it.
You must be wondering who I am or what I look like but no need to crack you head cause you don’t know me, you haven’t seen me before .
But I know you, I mean I know everything thing about you, and by everything I mean all of your secrets.
I’ve been looking for you for almost four years now and after I found you, I make my plans.
We will meet very soon and I’ll tell you about it all cause there’s so much to talk about, and there’s no way out for you.
Till we meet again Agent Blackbird or should I say MIA or is it David Rollands or perhaps I should call you by your real name……DESMOND DA SILVA” ?
