(One month later)
Evelyn sat on the chair, facing the mirror as the makeup artist worked on her face.
It had been a month since that incident happened.
Time flies, doesn’t it?
Everything was perfect, just as she had prayed for. She had the best fiancé ever.
A man who was ready to protect and care for her, and he spoiled her with gifts all the time.
He bought her jewelry, clothes, and even a new phone.
A smile crossed her face whenever she thought of him.
His family had also grown closer to her, including his uncle and cousin.
The two families would sometimes have dinner together.
There was a time they had a quarrel because Martin came home late, and Evelyn suspected he was being unfaithful at that time.
She didn’t know what made her say that, and it led to an argument that night. When his family heard about it, they scolded him.
She couldn’t help but laugh as she remembered those moments.
He was angry with her and wouldn’t talk to her. He claimed she didn’t trust him enough.
Until she seduced him by lying naked on the bed. That night, he was the one begging.
She burst into laughter again, making the makeup artist look at her as if asking if she was okay.
Her friends had been there for them, advising them and helping them avoid mistakes.
Martin was still possessive, and guess what? She’s pregnant.
A week ago, she felt sick and decided to go to the hospital. Yesterday, she found out she was pregnant.
Her joy knew no bounds. She hadn’t told anyone yet, but she planned on doing it today.
Having people who cared for her was what kept her going. Friends who stood by her, a boyfriend who protected her, loving parents who wished her the best, caring in-laws, and a beloved sister.
Ava really liked Martin a lot. They spent holidays together, and most times she spent her days with Martin at work, even when he had important meetings.
There was a particular moment she couldn’t forget, and she laughed a lot when she remembered it.

(Flashback)
“Seriously, sweetheart, are you sure you want to bring her along to the meeting?” Evelyn asked as they walked to the meeting room, and Martin sighed.
“Do I have a choice?” He pointed to Ava, who was clinging to him, and Evelyn laughed.
“Of course you don’t. She really likes you, you know. She won’t even let me carry her these days,” she pinched Ava’s cheek, and Martin chuckled.
“Are you jealous now?” He raised his eyebrows, smirking.
“Of course I am jealous. She won’t let me carry her anymore, and… you’re giving me less attention,” Evelyn hissed, and Martin laughed.
They reached the meeting room, and everyone’s eyes widened as they saw him with Ava.
It wasn’t the first time this happened.
“What’s with the look? I bet the child won’t stop us from having the meeting, will she?”
“No, sir,” they all replied.
“In our last meeting, we talked about bringing another project, and the boss told us to present whatever we think is best,” Evelyn said, reading from her notepad.
