“So, what’s the update?” He asked, and they all stood up slowly, handing him a book each.
Each book contained a drawing of a computer.
“Hmm, Mr. Wesley, I don’t like your upcoming project. The drawing clearly shows that it is not well-developed.
Our previous project featured a remote control, so it’s only natural that our next project should have one as well.
But since yours doesn’t include it, I can’t accept it,” He returned his book, causing the others to exchange glances.
They were all anxious.
“Hmm, please, Mrs. Ruth, work more on the drawing and give it to me later,” He said, handing it to her.
“Thank you, sir,” She replied, looking very excited.
Mr. Wesley frowned and glared angrily at Martin.
“Hey, why are you looking at him like that?” Ava suddenly yelled, drawing everyone’s attention.
“What on earth are you talking about?” Mr. Wesley chuckled nervously.
“Why were you glaring at him? Your work wasn’t good enough, so why are you looking at him that way?” Ava yelled, and everyone’s eyes widened.
Martin slowly turned to look at Mr. Wesley, who was speechless.
“I am so sorry, sir,” he said, bowing his head.
“Hey, it’s okay,” Martin said, while Ava scoffed.
“Don’t you ever look at my brother-in-law like that,” Ava said, and Evelyn sighed.
This is what she was trying to avoid. Ava tends to use vulgar words like “fk,” “bch,” and “asshole,” which she is clearly trying to stop.
“Hmmm, sorry, may I ask, how old is she?” a woman asked, staring at Ava.
“She’s nine,” Ava replied, and their eyes widened in shock.

Evelyn laughed and shook her head, making the makeup artist sigh.
Wondering what the occasion is? Today is her birthday, and Martin insisted on celebrating it in a big way.
“Ma, raise your face a little, please,” the makeup artist instructed, and she complied.
“Bestie!” The door opened, revealing Elizabeth and Charlotte.
“Hey, guys,” she waved, and they both hugged her, not minding the expression of the makeup artist.
They have become really close recently, even closer than Haris, but Haris still remains that friend she never had.
“Sister-in-law,” Charlotte called, and Evelyn blushed.
“Hmm, you’re looking pretty. I bet my brother won’t be able to look away from you,” Charlotte said, and they all laughed.
“I’m so nervous,” Evelyn said, and Elizabeth frowned.
“Why are you nervous, girl? You’ve got this,” Elizabeth said, and Evelyn sighed.
“You know this is my first time celebrating my birthday on such a large scale, and I’m damn nervous,” she said sincerely.
“Come on, seriously, you don’t have to be nervous. You have us around you,” she said, and Evelyn smiled.
“Okay,” she simply replied.
