“Because I don’t want Haris to get here before me,” he said, and Evelyn gasped, staring at him.
“Are you serious?” she yelled, and he just stared at her.
“You are really something else,” Evelyn yelled as she walked into the small freezer in the dining area and brought out a cold drink.
She drank from it slowly, and then she felt someone’s hand wrap around her waist.
“What… the h’ll are you doing?” she stuttered nervously, and Martin kssed her neck softly, sending shivers down her body.
“I just love your perfume, sweetie,” he whispered, kssing her neck gently.
Evelyn closed her eyes, enjoying the warm feeling, but she suddenly came back to her senses and pvshed Martin away.
She glared angrily at Martin before walking to her room, probably to get dressed.
“What was that?” she breathed heavily, holding her chest.
She could feel her heart beating wildly at the thought of Martin.
“Evelyn, I’m ready for school. I will prepare breakfast,” Ava said, and Evelyn just nodded as the little figure walked out.
“Well, I better go and take a bath,” she muttered to herself and walked into the bathroom.
Haris drove into the compound, and his eyes widened when he saw two cars parked outside.
There were four guards standing outside, and a smile formed on his lips.
“He is here to pick up bestie,” he muttered, smirking.
“Why don’t I tease him a little?” he said, parking his car before getting out.
The guards stared at him but didn’t say anything.
“Bestie!” Haris yelled, pushing the door open as if it was his house. Martin stared at him angrily, making Haris chuckle.
“Chill, man. I’m only here to see my best friend,” Haris said, and Martin rolled his eyes.
“Bestie,” he yelled again, trying to walk upstairs, but Martin pulled him back.
“Whoa, chill, man,” Haris said, and Martin scoffed before letting go of him.
“Well, I think I’ll just wait for her here,” Haris chuckled nervously, sitting down on the couch.
“Bestie,” Haris called, and Evelyn hugged him, reciprocating immediately.
Martin frowned, feeling jealous, and Haris quickly moved away from her.
His jealousy was really too much.
“Why are you here? If you’re here to pick…”
“Yeah, I know that already, but I promised Ava I’m going to take her to school.
I was just teasing the young man by saying I was looking for you,” Haris said, and Evelyn scoffed.
“Ava, Haris is here,” Evelyn yelled, and almost immediately, the younger one rushed out of the kitchen.
“Uncle Haris!” she screamed happily, hugging him.
For a moment, Martin swore he was jealous. He wanted to be closer to the younger one, do things with her, so she could grow to like him.
He really wanted Evelyn’s family to be close to him. He didn’t want the younger one to see him as just his sister’s boss or as an uncle who comes by to take her sister to work.
“My little princess,” Haris tickled the younger one, and she burst into laughter.
He didn’t know why he suddenly felt the need to be close to the younger one, why he suddenly wanted to be the one tickling her.
Haris kssed her forehead and ruffled her hair before carrying her bag and lunchbox.
“Okay, bestie, I’ll see you,” Ava winked at Evelyn, and she just rolled her eyes.
“Goodbye, Mr. Martin,” he waved, but Martin just glared at him, making Haris chuckle nervously.
“Goodbye, Uncle,” Ava waved at him, and for some reason, he couldn’t help but smile as he stared at the adorable little one.
Evelyn sighed and then walked into the kitchen. She took two pieces of bread and an egg before bringing them to the dining room.
She sat on the chair, ready to eat her meal. Martin stood up and walked towards her, while she just stared at him, confused, wondering why he was coming toward her.
“Is there something wrong?” she asked, shoving a piece of bread into her mouth.
She was about to chew it when Martin suddenly moved close to her lips and cut the piece of bread, making Evelyn gasp.
“What on earth?” she gasped as she watched Martin chew the bread while smirking. Her cheeks were turning red already.
