CHAPTER 22
OFFICE LOVE: CHAPTERS 21 – 30
He smiled and whispered in Evelyn’s ear.
“I like him though, his possessiveness and all. This is the man you really need.
“You’re too shy and stubborn and also try to stay away from men. He seems jealous,” Haris whispered in her ear.
Martin stared at Haris with hatred as he walked out of the room, and Haris just chuckled.
Evelyn tried to run after Haris, but Martin dragged her back.
“Let me go,” she yelled, struggling to get out of his grip, but Martin didn’t let her go.
“I don’t like it when my partner runs after another man,” Martin said, and Evelyn scoffed.
“Partner? Martin, no matter how hard you try to win me over, I am never going to be your partner again,” she yelled at his face, but a dvilish smirk formed on his face.
“You know me too well, Evelyn. A man like me doesn’t lose.
I get whatever I want, and you are no exception,” he said boldly, as if he knew that Evelyn would be his.
Evelyn just stared at him, not knowing what to say.
“You’re making me think maybe you’re obsessed with me?” Evelyn said slowly, and the man chuckled.
“Obsessed? Yeah, I am obsessed with you. I can’t get you off my mind, I can’t stop thinking about you.
You’re like a drug I’m addicted to, and that’s because I love you,” he said, looking into Evelyn’s eyes.
Everywhere was silent and quiet, and only the sound of their heartbeats could be heard.
It felt like they were in their own world, staring into each other’s eyes, admiring each other, wishing to have each other, craving each other, longing for each other’s souls.
“Let go of me,” Evelyn broke the silence and pushed him off, glaring at him with anger.
“I stand by my word, Martin. I will never be your partner,” she hissed and tried to walk away, but he held her hand again.
“I told you, Evelyn. I get whatever I want. Do you want to remember how I convinced you to date me in the first place?
The steps I took to make sure you were mine,” he said, smirking, and Evelyn sighed.
(Flashback)
She smiled, staring at the gigantic building in front of her.
Finally, she was going to be in university. She had always dreamed of being here, and she couldn’t stop smiling.
“Evelyn,” she turned around only to see her father with her luggage in his hand.
“Dad,” Evelyn called, and they hugged each other lightly.
“Behave well and make us proud,” Mr. Jackson said, and she just smiled before taking her luggage from her father.
There were many people also entering the school with their luggage, which meant they were fresh students just like her.
“Bye, dad,” she waved as her dad drove out of the building.
She sighed and took the school map out of her bag.
“Damn, this school is huge,” she thought, looking around.
“Hmmm, I think I’ll have to meet the professor… but dmn, I don’t even understand the map,” she said, and almost immediately, she felt someone touch her shoulder.
She turned around only to see a girl smiling at her.
“Hey,” Evelyn said with a polite smile.
“I’m Lillian. It seems you’re lost, but I can show you around,” she said, and Evelyn nodded.
