CHAPTER 23

“What’s that?” Evelyn asked, pointing to a small building inside the school.

“That’s the music class,” Lillian said, and Evelyn nodded.

“Finally, here’s the professor’s office,” she said, pointing to a small building.

“Thank you,” she said to Lillian before pushing the door open.

She was currently feeling really shy, yet incredibly excited.

“College is an adventure. It’s a chance to make lifelong friends, become part of a community, learn new things, and discover your true self.”

That’s what her mother had said to her before she left for college, and she truly wanted to experience all those things.

The professor was already occupied with someone else, which made her feel somewhat shy due to their intense gaze fixed upon her.

“Good day, sir,” she nervously greeted without bothering to make eye contact.

“How can I assist you?”

“Hmm, I’m a new student here,” Evelyn said, and the professor nodded.

“What is your name?”

“My name is Evelyn Jackson,” she said nervously.

Someone’s gaze was locked onto her, observing her every move, biting their lips while staring.

She also noticed it but chose not to acknowledge them.

“Martin, please excuse me. I will talk to you later,” he said to the boy who was staring at her, yet he made no effort to leave.

“Martin,” the professor called, and that was when he stood up from his chair.

“Update me about this newbie…,” he left his sentence hanging while Evelyn looked at them, feeling confused.

He stared at Evelyn for a moment before walking out of the office.

“Please have a seat,” the professor said, and Evelyn smiled before sitting down.

“So, what’s your first class?” Lilian asked as they walked around the building.

“Well, I think I have Economics, which is a general subject,” Evelyn replied, and Lillian nodded in response.

She had that feeling again, as if someone was watching her, but when she turned around, there was no one there.

“I feel strange,” she muttered to herself.

Everyone turned their attention toward her as she nervously walked into the class, fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.

The lecturer stared at her and began teaching. She sighed in relief before taking a seat close to a classmate.

His eyes were fixed on her once again, admiring her colorful skin, well-proportioned figure, beautiful face, and innocent expression that drew him closer.

“Hey, pretty,” someone whispered in her ear, causing her to turn in their direction and gasp softly.

“He is so incredibly attractive,” she muttered to herself, then suddenly put on a serious face.

Her mother had warned her to stay away from handsome men, as they could hinder her graduation.

She didn’t respond to him and turned her attention towards the board, while Martin just huffed.

He craved her attention.

She unlocked the door and gasped when she saw the amazing room.

A smile crept onto her lips as she admired the space. She looked around, hoping to find her roommate, but she was nowhere to be found.

“Maybe she’s not here,” she thought aloud.

Almost immediately, the door swung open, revealing Martin, and her eyes widened in shock.

“My roommate is a boy!” she exclaimed, while Martin just smirked.
