CHAPTER 39
(REJECTION)
” Mom?” Vespertine called walking into Godiva’s room with Alora whose eyes fell on Raphael and Godiva
” What are you doing there?” She asked staring at Raphael
” He actually slept there..” Vespertine replied and Alora force a smile
They totally ignored Larina on the floor
” Really?” She asked
” Hmm ” Vespertine nodded..
Larina breath back to life and stood up on her feet
” Why did you faint mom? Did you see a ghost? ” Godiva asked folding her hands
She already left the bed
Larina just kept staring at Raphael with a smile
” I was only shock to see you with a guy and not just any guy but a cute guy who is also sharp.. Does that mean I’m gonna have…. Godiva quickly covered her mouth and chuckled awkwardly before the remaining words could leave her mouth since she knew what her mom was driving at
” Stop having weird thoughts, nothing happened” Godiva gritted out in a whisper before letting go of her mom’s mouth
” What do you mean nothing happened, I saw you both….
” Mom!!!” She interrupted,. ” How was your trip?” she asked, trying to stop her mom from talking about what she saw
” Well, it was fine ” She replied, turning to Alora
” Baby..” She pulled Alora into a tight hug
” I miss you mom..” she pouted cutely
Raphael just watch them. He was jealous of their moment since he didn’t get the chance to do that with his parents
” I miss you too pumpkin..” Larina kssed her hair before disengaging from the hug and turning to Vespertine with a frown
” And you, aren’t you supposed to be in school?” She asked
” Oh mom.. I miss you that’s why.. I’m seeing you again after weeks of being apart” he pouted cutely and Larina chuckled
” I hope you have a better explanation of what happened last night.. ” Godiva said to him and he bit on his lower lips..
He knew he took a dangerous risk just to see if Raphael could really helped his sister.. and he was glad the heavens were on his side though he couldn’t sleep through out the night cos he kept thinking about her and her condition
” I don’t know what you’re talking about” he let out a tight smile
” Who cares for breakfast?” Larina asked and Alora and Vespertine screamed in excitement
” I’ve missed your food mom..” Alora whined and Godiva shook head at her
She looked up at Raphael and their eyes met
” Thanks for last night..” she said before walking out of her room with her siblings to the dining table for breakfast
” Why aren’t you coming?” Larina asked Raphael
” I..
” You should eat something handsome guy, you need enough energy for another night” She said and Godiva facepalmed herself staring at her mother unbelievably
Reluctantly he went with them to the dinning
He sat and Larina served his food making sure the food was enough for three serving and his eyes widened
” Eat a lot okay?” She smiled at him and he gulp down nothing as he stared at the plate of food infront of him
One would get full just by staring at the plate
” I can’t finish this mom..” he said and Larina looked at him at once
” What did you just call me?”
” Oh! I’m sorry ma’am, I didn’t mean to, it came out unware” he smiled awkwardly which made larina laugh
” Where are your parents?” She asked
” Dead.. grew up with my grandparents..” he replied scooping the rice into his mouth while fighting back his tears..
” Oh poor thing, it must be hard.. you’re free to call me mom if you want..” larina smiled, caressing his hair
Godiva just stared at him shortly without saying a word
” Well, see you all tomorrow, I need to be at the company” Larina stood up and left the house before any of her kids could talk
” Mom hasn’t change one bit” Alora said
” like I said, no one in my family is normal..” Godiva breath out
” Yeah, and you top the list” Raphael said and vespertine laughed but immediately sober up when Godiva smeared the bowl of rice on his face
” What’s wrong with you?” Vespertine throw the apple on the table at her and it h!t her head
” I’m gonna ruin your life i swear ” She grabbed his hair, pulling it hard
” Let me go Gorilla”
” Gorilla? I’m gonna make you bald, you shthead” she said, pulling his hair even harder
Lydia just smiled as she watch them
