Secret love
chapter 4
“How about this,isn’t it just perfect?! Serena asks as she shows me a sleeveless white dress which went all the way to her knees.
We have been in her room for almost two hours! but she still hasn’t found a dress yet. Jay is supposed to pick Serena up at seven, and they are going to drop me off.
“I love it ,it will look perfect with your red trench coat and those shiny white heels of yours,” i tell her pointing at the shoes.
“I dont know….let me try just one more.”
“Come on ! Jay will be here soon and you’ve tried on almost every dress you own,” i say almost yelling.
“Ok jeez ! i’ll go with this one.”
“Am sorry, i dint mean to shout …so sorry.
“Its ok you are right after all, anyway are you okay? You’ve not been yourself today, and dont think i have forgotten what you said in the car. I hope you are not hiding anything from me?” She said gazing at me.
“Am not hiding anything from you, now back to your date.”
Serena looked at me suspiciously. She knew me to well, to know something was up.
“Ok,” She said glancing at me briefly, and then went on with her business.
I don’t like keeping secrets from her, but how was i supposed to tell her that , i think i like the same guy that she’s obsessed with!
“Do you think he’ll like what am wearing? I mean, you know him well enough to know what he likes.”
“Jay will love that,” i tell her giving her a reassuring smile.
Jay is already downstairs waiting for us when we get there, and Mrs Johnson, Serenas mum was keeping him company.She is a very nice woman and fun to be around. It was obvious that chris got most of his charm from her.
Jay is in a black skinny trouser and a plain T-shirt which is hugging his well arranged muscles so perfectly.He is also holding
a black leather jacket in his hand.
Hot dmn!
This guy is going to be the end of me!He looks so good i was almost drooling, to bad he is never going to be mine.
I was brought back to my senses when Jay came towards us and took Serenas hand to help her take the last step down the stairs.
“Hey ladies,”he says with a smile exposing his perfect set of teeth.
“Hey,” Serena and i both say simultaneously.
“You look gorgeous Serena,” he says as he looks at her from head to toe.
I must admit i am very jeolous wishing it was me he was looking at that way.
“Stop it sky? you can’t fall for him.He is your best friend and he’s already taken” my councious warns me. I have to do something about this feeling before i go crazy.
Looking at him, I notice that something seems off with Jay .He doesn’t look or talk to me the whole time, it’s like he is mad at me or something.
“Have fun and make sure you are home by ten remember tomorrow is a school day,” Serenas mum says as we are on our way out.
“Sure mum.”
We get in the car and Serena sits with jay while i took the back seat..They have already started a conversation and seem to be already enjoying themselves. Maybe this is going to work for them.
“Earth to sky,” Serenas voice brings me back to reality. I hadn’t realized my mind had wondered.
“Sorry about that, whats up.”
“Jay just invited us to his birthday party on friday, you are in right?” she asks.
“Since when did you start having parties and does your mum know?” I ask Jay completely shocked.
Jay like me was never into parties.His family usually organized a small dinner and my family was always invited and later he would go out with his friends but never a party.
“Well, my friends thought of throwing me a party since it’s my 18th birthday and i didn’t want to dissapoint them, and yes my mom is okay with it, as long as it’s not going to be in her house,” he says avoiding eye contact with me.
Jays mum is one strict woman and always loves discipline.I was very afraid of her at first before i came to learn that she also had a sweet ,kind and loving side.
“I don’t think i can make it.”
“Come on its Jays party.You know i wouldn’t go without you, “Serena says trying to convince me.
“Is the dinner still happening?” i ask Jay who is still acting weird.
“Yeah,the party will be at jims house after the dinner.
“Wait ,is this the jim that has had the biggest crush on Sky since forever?” Serena asks.
“Yes , he just joined my band.”
“Its decided,we are so going to that party Sky, you need to mingle and find youself a boyfriend,” Serena says giving me a mischivious look.
Jim was this guy that had been wooing me ever since we started high school.He was a nice and sweet guy always buying me gifts but i was never into him.He was so persistent that i even felt sorry for him but we all know that the heart wants what it wants.Serena was right though, maybe dating was going to keep my mind of Jay.
“Ok ,am in.” i say looking out the window avoiding Jays gaze from the front mirror.
“Now thats like my girl, party here we come!”Serena said smirking lightly.
“Are you really coming to the party to find a boyfriend?!” Jay said raising his eyebrows in suprise.
“Ofcoures not ,but who said you cant find love at a party,” i say not really sure what i was talking about.
“Well… you dont find love sky,love finds you,” he says turning slowly to look at me with unreadable eyes.
“True ,and maybe love will find sky at the party,” Serena says sidding with me.
“Ok.. you guys are officially crazy!”Jay says .He is still acting weird, but atleast he was talking to me. A few minutes later i was at my place.
“Have a great time,” i say as soon as the car is parked opening the door and step out.
“Bye.” Serena says waving at me.Jay doesn’t even look at me or say goodbye after i get out of the car and this really bothered me.
When i get in the house i go straight to my room and cuddled myself up in bed with so many questions running through my head.
Why is Jay mad at me? How will the date go? Am i really falling for jay? This is going to be one h’ll of a week!
