chapter 6
“Hi sky come in, ” Mrs Johnson said as she welcomed me into her house.
“Thank you, is Serena in her room? ” I asked as I got in.
“Yes she is. She’s been locked up in her room all day and is kind of down .She won’t talk to me, I hope your visit cheers her up. ”
“I hope so to,” I told her taking big steps up the stairs.
“Ow! I said as i bumped into Chris. I was walking real quick that I didn’t see him coming. He quickly wrapped his arms around my waist as i was about to hit the floor and held me to his hard chest.
Did I mention he was shirtless!
“Are you okay? “Chris asked. He was so close i could feel the rise and fall of his chest.
“Am OK, and am sorry, it was all my fault, “I said as i tried to untangle myself from his arms but his hold was to tight for me.
For a moment our eyes locked. Chris stroked the palm of his hand down my cheek and titled my face up to meet his. He then nuzzled his face on my neck and held me tighter. I was really confused about the situation that i dint know what to do.
He must have sensed my confusion because he pulled away before he did something that we might both regret.
“Am really sorry if i made you uncomfortable. I wouldn’t do anything you don’t want me to,” he said looking straight in my eyes.
Not that i liked him in any romantic kind of way but any girl would have been crazy not to be attracted to him. He was standing not to far from me with only a short on, looking like a cover model! It really should have been a crime to look this hot.
The air had become so thick in here i could barely breathe. At that moment I finally understood the meaning of the phrase ‘cut the tension with a knife ‘.
“It’s okay, nothing happened anyway, ” I said coming back to my senses.
“Would you have liked it if something happened ?” he asked coming closer and looking at me with eyes full of desire.
Oh boy, it was really getting hot in here!
“Can we not talk about this now, I really have to talk to your sister, please excuse me, ” I said nervously as i rushed past him .I could feel him watching me as i walked in Serena’s room.
What just happened? !
Serena was lying face up on her bed with headphones on, when I got in her room. She seemed to be so deep in thought that i doubted she knew I was there. I walked towards her and lay down beside her. She then noticed me and turned giving me a hug.
“Am sorry I didn’t call you, “she said breaking the hug. By the tone of her voice I could tell that she had been crying.
“It’s fine, are you okay? “Jay told me what happened last night. ”
“I don’t know. I didn’t think I liked Jay this much! I really had high hopes,but when he friend zoned me my heart completely shattered,” she said almost breaking down.
“OK Serena listen, stop acting like its the end of the world. You’re a smart, funny, beautiful and sometimes a crazy young lady. You need someone who’s going to see this qualities and appreciate them in you.”
“It’s not that easy sky…. , how do you forget someone you cant go a day without thinking about? ”
“Come on, don’t do this to yourself. Heartbreaks will always be there whether you like it or not, you just have to learn how to deal with them like you did with Jason .Someone else will come along,” I told her trying my best to console her.
“You don’t understand sky, this is different. I don’t want anyone else, I only want Jay! I think i love him.
Love? Did she just say love?!
“What! You can’t be in love with him, and anyway you can’t force him to be with you,” I told her trying to get some sense into her.
“I wont force him okay, am not that crazy. Am just going to make him fall for me, i mean it can’t be that difficult, look at me am a delicious piece of cake!”
“Okay….now you’re just loosing it, it’s not always about the looks, and as my best friend I would just advice you to get over him. You know Jay doesn’t like clingy girls. ”
“I wont be clingy. You’re Jay’s best friend to, and you literally know everything about him. I believe as my best friend you’ll help me win jays heart right?” she asked making the most sad puppy God face.
Serena was really getting obsessed with this. I knew whether i helped her or not someone would still end up getting hurt, but what was i supposed to do, she was my best friend after all!
“OK I’ll help you, just promise you’ll move on if he doesn’t fall for you still, and just to remind you Jay is also my best friend and I don’t want him getting hurt, ” I told her not really liking her plan.
“Don’t worry, the last thing I’ll ever do is hurt him and with your help he’ll surely fall. Haven’t you ever noticed how he agrees with everything you say? Am so glad you’re my best friend otherwise i would be pretty jealous of you.”
“Jealous of me? Come on that’s crazy. You know Jay has and will always be my friend, “I told her not sure who I was trying to convince.
“Of course I know that but changing the subject,we really need to get you a boyfriend. You are almost 18 and you’ve never had a boyfriend! I mean are you sure you are into boys? because am really starting to doubt you,” she said giving me a silly grin.I was glad she was back to her crazy self again and at least she was smiling.
“Hey,” I said pushing her gently.” You know am a hopeless romantic , am still waiting for my Romeo.”
“OK Juliet, but don’t wait to long ,” she said been sarcastic.
“Enough of that, let’s go for a walk. Your mum said you’ve been cooped up in your room the whole day.”
“OK lets, “She said as we got out of bed and out her room.
