chapter 13
“Sky,are you okay.. Did he hurt you? ” Jay asked with great concern in his voice.
I stared up into his eyes and put a meek smile on my face.
“No,a’m okay. How are you? He hit you pretty hard. ”
“Am fine,”he said helping me sit up on the bed.He later on took off his shirt and put it on me.
I knew my body was shaking but dint realize how badly until jay put his arms around me and pulled me in tight against his chest.
In all my life, I’d never been attacked or kidnapped. I took a shaky breath and pulled back a little,lifting my eyes to his and saw him flinch.I reached my hand up and gently touched the side of his head where he was bleeding.
” You are bleeding!”
He ran his hands to my hair, pushing it from my face.
“Am fine sky okay?” he whispered smiling softly.
Someone touched his shoulder from behind and my head snapping up to look. It was Ethan followed by two police men and a medic. Thank God! I was almost panicking thinking Jim was back.
Jay moved a little from me and Ethan moved quickly giving me a hug. He hugged me for some seconds letting me cry on his shoulder.
“Am sorry i couldn’t protect you. Are you okay?Did that bastard do anything to you?” he asked wiping away tears from my eyes with one hand while the other was fisted as if ready to attack something and i watched a tear rolled down his cheek.
“its not your fault and anyway Jay came in before he did anything to me,” i said in a shacky but reassuring voice.
“Lets go home, ” he said helping me stand.
“Wait Sky” One of the police men asked while the other were busy taking care of Jays wound.
“Yes” i answered quietly.
“Can you please tell us what happened.”
“Ofcourse,” i said taking in a deep breath and told them everything.
I added even the parts that made me feel dirty and the one about my family. I couldn’t imagine how i would have felt if he’d gone further than he did. Ethans jaw visibly tightened as did Jays as i told the story and i realized how lucky i was to have men like them in my life.
As soon as the interrogation was over and the police promising to find Jim as soon as they could. Ethan drove me home with Jay following with his car.
“How did you find me? ” i asked him and he told me the whole story.
“So the bracelet ha? That is so unbelievable,” i said wondering when my life had become a movie.” Does Dad know yet?”
“Yes, i told him as soon as Jay called me.He’s out of town but is already on his way back.”
It was almost 7 pm when we got home.My afternoon was the worst and i was still exhausted, from the party.I mean i was alomst reped twice!! I still couldn’t believe it myself.
“I will make you something to eat, i know you haven’t eaten all day,” Jay said heading to the kitchen.
“No am good. I just want to lie down for a bit and you should probably rest to,” I’ll see you tomorrow,” i said going up the stairs to my room.
“I will be here if you need anything,” Ethan said from behind me
“Sure.”
I went straight to bathroom and took a very long shower. I realy felt dirty and i wanted to wash off every part of my body that he had kissed or touched.I was really trying to play it cool around Jay and my brother but deep down i was really shaken. I still didn’t get the whole story about his Dad, but that would have to be saved for later.After the shower i went to the closet grabbing a pair of short and a t-shirt dressing without much effort and went straight to bed.
Alone with my thoughts i drifted slowly to sleep without realising it.
It was round 2 am that i woke up and realised i was sleeping on my side. I had this suspicion that someone was breathing right behind my ear. I tried to turn around and see who this was but couldn’t. I tried harder but still couldn’t turn around. I dont normally panic but i was very tense.I tried harder and realized somebodys hands pinninng me on the b ed.The person came on top of me and i froze.
Jim!!
“I told you I’d be back,” he said with a smirk as he leaned in to kss me.
I was terrified and immediately started screaming calling out for help. I was to pertrified and i yelled but the worst happened. I couldn’t make a noise.I had lost my voice.I tried to kick him off me, but his force was too strong for me to beat.
“No one is coming to help this time sky,” he said as he slid one of his hands down the front of my sh©rts and grabbing me r©ughly.
I tried pushing him harder and after a minute of struggle , i woke up quickly sitting up sweating and painting restlessly. It was a nightmare!
Thank God i was only dreaming!
Seconds later the door was knocked open and Ethan walked in followed by Jay.
“Are you okay? What happened?” They both asked simultanesously as Jay came to sit beside me in bed taking my hand while Ethan looked around to see if there was someone in the room with me.
“I just had a nightmare,” i told them still struggling to breath.
“Its okay. Am here with you,” Jay said tighteninig his hold on my fingers and kssing my forehead lightly.
“I’ll get you some water,” Ethan said stepping out.
“Do you want to talk about it?”Jay asked.
“No ,not know.”
“Okay whenever you are ready,” he said pulling me to him and letting my head rest on his chest.
“I never did actually thank you for saving me today. Thank you,” i said putting my hands around him.
“You know i”ll do anything for you,” he said titling up my chin so i could look at him.
I leaned my head back to his chest before i gave in to the temptation of kssing him.
A few minutes of companiable silence passed before Ethan came back with the water and left kssing me goodbye.
“Its late and you should get some rest ,”Jay said as he layed me on the bed. I’ll be down stairs if you need me.”
Jay turned and stared towards the door.
“Wait,” i said. “could you maybe sleep here? I would feel better,” i said.
“Yeah, i can do that,he said and walked over to the other side of the bed.
As soon as he was in bed i layed my head on his chest and held me tightly close to him. It really felt heavenly.
“I could lay here in his arms forever” i thought before i fell asleep.
I woke up to rays of lights streaking the walls of my room.I had no more nightmares that night ,for which i was thankfull.I looked over at the clock and it was 6.30 am. My stomach was growling from hunger.I yawned loudly and immediately tensed when I felt something tighten around me.
I looked down to see muscular arm wrapping around my waist.My eyes widened as i turned my head to see Jay sleeping right behind me,his hand chest on my back.I could feel his light breath on my neck.There was no point in waking him up yet since it was still early. Atleast that was an excuse i gave myself to be in his arms for a coulple more minutes.
I lay there content in his arms feeling safe.I started thinking of all the event that had occured yesterday, but mostly i thought about Jay. He looked so peacefull and innocent sleeping even though when he was awake he drove me crazy and was capable of seriously injuring someone just for me. He even risked his life for me!
I turned slowly in his arms facing him. I ¢aressed his face slowly and my arm rested on his head where he was b@ndaged.It wasn’t that serious but i still felt guilty that he was hurt because of me.
All of a sudden someone cleared their throat from behind me puting my thougts on hold.I quickly turned back to see Serena standing at the end of bed looking at me.
How long had she been there?
I hope she wont get the wrong idea.
