Chapter 18
The hug was so comforting and devine that it made me forget about jim and his threats, especially when i felt his arms envelope me. There was reassurance and a sense of belonging.
“Are you okay?” Jay asked his voice tender with concern.
“Yes am okay, am sorry am always dragging you into my mess,” i said my face hidden on his chest.”
” No regrets here,” he said kssing the top of my head.
“Thank you for always been here”.
“Dont mention it. You know i would do anything for you,” he said as his hands tightened around my waist.
We stayed in that position for a while, my head right at his chest, lost in our own little world.
I looked up and our eyes met. He let go of my waist and cupped my cheek between his hands his eyes dark with desire. My heart was beating so fast as he lowered his face towards mine.
Oh God!
Is he going to kss me?
I closed my eyes, waiting for him to kss me ,Savoring the sensation of his breath on my face , but his lips never touched mine. He let go and moved back making me instantly miss the feel of him against me.
I opened my eyes just to see Jay staring at the door, and when i turned to look i saw Ethan and Celyn standing there ,their faces covered with both surprise and worry.
The room was silent for a couple of seconds . I dint know what to say or do and i was trying so hard to avoid Jay who was busy starring at me and i could swear i saw a quick smirk on his lips. I was so embarrased but i dint know why.
“Am sorry , we dint mean to interrupt, but we thought we heard shouting,” Ethan said breaking the silence.
“Well yes, Jim just called sky and threatened her,” Jay said as his muscle ripped with anger.
Ethan walked in the room and came to me his jaw set tough and tight. His eyes were so dark with anger as he paced the room fisting his hands.
“That guy is really trying my patience, i should be out there looking for him. sky cant keep living in fear because of him.”
“Hey,” i said walking over to him,” Jim is dangerous. He has goons and a gun. let the police do their job okay ?”
“Sky is right. Jim is a coward and there’s no way we’ll let him go near her again ,” Jay added.
“Yes, calm down that barstard will be caught soon,” celyn said as she walked over to Ethan and placed her hand on his shoulder.
“Okay, but you really have to watch yourself especially now that Jake is out of prison. Those two are really insane, they want revenge and yet they are the ones who ruined our lives! If this countinues we are going to have to take action ourselves” Ethan said .
” Okay , lets not let him ruin the remaining part of our day, Lets go watch a movie and let this two countinue with whatever it is they were doing,” celyn said taking Ethans hand and walking out of the room.
“I want to watch the movie too,” i said as i quickly followed them not daring to look back .
I wasn’t prepared to be left alone with Jay again. “We were about to kss! i still dint believe it.
Could he also like like me or was it just the heat of the moment?
The only way i would answer those questions was by talking to him and that was going to be close to impossible, because I didn’t have the courage to.
We spent the rest of the day watching movies and acting like nothing crazy happened. I was actually getting used to the madness around me and anyway with Jim after me this was going to be my new normal.
Was Jay really going to kss me? I kept on asking myself.
That would mean that he feels the same way about me as i do about him!
Maybe this could work, but what about Serena.
Would she really understand?
But what about the promise I made to her?
Argh!!
This is so complicated! The worst part is that i was still craving for that kss and a part of me wished that he hadn’t stopped.
What was wrong with me? If that’s what i was wishing for then i had some serious problems. And Lord knew if i couldn’t control my mind or body around Jay any better than that, i was definetly going to loose Serena.
The movie was surprisingly good and i especially loved the ending when the two love birds finally reached their happy ever after. Am a sucker for love.
As the credit rolled celyn turned to me,”What did you think? It was great right?”
” It was the perfect movie intrigue ,comedy ,romance and action. It actually makes me feel all warm inside,” i said beaming.
” Yeah ,it was nice. Is anyone hungry? We could order pizza before we watch the next movie,” Ethan said.
“Am good with pizza, but no movie for me. It’s almost nine and i don’t want to be late for school tomorrow, again,” i said stretching.
” Come on sky, don’t be a fun killer . Am really having alot of fun and i dont want to leave yet,” celyn said.
” Sky is right, we have school tomorrow and we should let her rest ,”Jay said looking at me.
“That’s so cute, i mean you would agree to anything sky says just to make her happy. All she has to say is jump, and you’d ask how high, “celyn said smiling.
“Of course ,i would do anything as long as it makes her happy,” Jay said smiling at me, and i couldn’t help but smile back.
I really loved the sound of that but it also made me sad because i was doing the opposite of that to Jay lately. I didn’t want to be the cause of his pain, and I think it was about time my Secret became not so secret anymore.
If Jay does really want be with me ,i will definitely and happily say yes and if Serena is my friend the least she can do is understand. Am not going to let Dads story rewrite itself with me.
We had dinner together and celyn told us more about herself. She told us that her mum had died In a car accident a month ago and she had nowhere to go . Jays parents were kind enough to let her stay with them as long as she wanted. She was actually a year older than me and also done with highschool.
We also learnt that celyn had been raised by her mom who was a single parent.Her parents were separated by class ,as her father was from a wealthy family and her mum a simple one.
Her Dad was married off to a woman of his class and her mother never got to tell him that she was expecting his baby. Her mum had no money to raise a child on her own but she had to get by every way she could. Celyn only learnt about her Dad a year ago and she was on a mission to find him.
For a girl with such a sad story she was very jovial and funny. I loved the way she was always seeing the brighter side of things.
Jay and celyn left some minutes after dinner which was pizza ofcourse , but not before assuring her that Ethan and i were here for anything she needed.
When i went to bed all i could think about is the kss that never happened,i just couldn’t get it out of my head! I was probably, going to dream about it tonight. Atleast i was going to have a sweet dream tonight.
