Episode 12.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the Ade’s, Lilian has become terribly sick and now Bisola is sick too. Mrs Ade was in the room looking and her husband who has suddenly become a quiet man in the last few months.
All his efforts to secure a job has proven abortive. And now he has become a shadow of himself and always thinking. Their children has already stopped schooling because they couldn’t meet up with the school fees payment.
Mrs Ade: Honey, I dont like that you are at home. You should be out there seeking for a job.
Mr Ade: Have I not tried? What have I been doing for the past 6months since I lost my job? Haven’t I been searching? Woman please leave me alone let me think. Just today I’m sitted at home you already want to complain. Leave me o.
Mrs Ade: leave you? How can I leave you? Me I can’t o. You can’t sit here and think o, you have to go out there and come back with money. What will sitting here and thinking do ?
We’ve not eaten anything since yesterday, my daughter is lying there sick and dying, you are here thinking. Is it thinking that will put food on our table? Please get up abeg, i don’t want to shout.
Mr Ade: And you think if I go out I’d just see money on the ground abi?
Mrs Ade: sometimes you talk as if you dont have sense…..
Mr Ade was shocked to hear his wife sound like that.
Mr Ade: What did you just say? Did you just insult me?
Mrs Ade: oh oh oh! Which one is insult again na.? See ehn! Only the rich feel insulted, the poor are simply told the truth. So I just told you the truth, dont be feeling insulted as if you are one rich man.
Mr Ade: so it has gotten to the point where you now insult and call me senseless abi?
Mrs Ade: I did not call you senseless. I only asked a question. Que….st……ion….
Why are you acting like someone that does not have sense? Its a question na. When one asks a question it is expected that another person gives a reply or an answer. So you are to answer me nor turn it to quarrel.
When I told you to go out, I said you should go out and hustle, hustle , carry concrete….the, push wheel barrow. carry ladder, anything you can that will give us money just do it.
Mr Ade: me, your husband, push wheel barrow?
Mrs Ade: This is what I hate most in life, *PRIDE* Bible says he will exalt the humble, humble yourself so that God can exalt you.
Mr Ade: Its not your fault
Not your fault at all. But dont worry, I will surprise you.
Mrs Ade: Dear husband, surprise me I love surprises , suprise me okay?rubbuh!
Mr Ade said nothing but walked away.
