PERFECT IDEAS?

I cracked my brain and finally got a few ideas
I should have thought of those things for long. Food, venue, decorations….
I wrote down venue, food, decorations, and ring.
For now, that is all my brain could offer
At least I tried; it’s better than nothing
I handed over the paper to mom
She laughed
“Liyah, what’s this?” She asked handing over the list to Everlyn
“Mom that’s what I could think of” I replied with an eye roll
They should be happy I was able to write this few things down
“Can I leave now?” I asked
“No” Everlyn replied not looking at me
I groaned
“Is there something you want me to do?” I asked
She held the list, looking at it
“I don’t want this” she said
What!!!
She doesn’t want this?
Then what do she want??
“You didn’t talk about music, sitting arrangement, wedding gown, maids of honour and so on” she said
“There are lots of thing to write Liyah not this” she added
I rolled my eyes
“You can as well do me the favour of writing them, yourself” I said to myself
“What did you say?” She asked
“I said we could do it together if you don’t mind” I said
She didn’t say anything. Rather, she ignore me and kept pressing her phone
I groaned
Why are they not helping matters?
Why are they not helping me?
“It’s so unfair” I thought
This place looks extremely quiet and boring at the same time!
I needed to make this place a bit lively
At least it should have been a joint work to make it quick and less boring
I came up with an idea
I will make it an interactive session.
That’s it!!!
Yeah!!!
“Mom, Everlyn I have a suggestion” I said
“What?” They asked
“We should have an interactive session” I said
Mom smiled, Everlyn rolled her eyes
“Explain please” she said with her eyes glue to her phone
I hope it works
I adjusted myself on the couch and clear my throat
“Instead of making me do all the work. We can interact” I said
“I bring an idea, we work on it and come into an areaement. I then, write it down” I added
Everlyn chuckled
Mom nodded
“That’s what we wanted all this while” mom said
“But you didn’t understand on time” Everlyn said
I chuckled
Why didn’t they tell me that instead of making me seat all day staring at an empty sheet of paper
“You should have just tell me” I whispered
Evelyn chuckled
“You didn’t ask” she whispered back
Mom smiled
“Do we agree to that?” I asked
“Yes” mom answered
“Sure” Everlyn said
Guess we are going to finish soon!!
“What are we starting with?” Mom asked
I sat properly
I picked the paper and checked what came first
It was Venue
“Let’s start with venue” I said
They nodded
“What do you want? Is it open space or close?”
“I want an open place like a beach” she said
“Mom what do you think?” I asked
“I think beach is a nice place to get married. I did mine there too. I can bet it’s a nice view. Staring at the waters and saying yes I do is just too good to be true!” Mom exclaimed
Evelyn chuckled
I rolled my eyes
“Then beach it is, but you still have to tell Lian about it” I said
“Sure” she replied
I wrote down beach at the front of venue
“Next is food” I said
“I think the caterers should do that” I said
“No I don’t think so. We should be able to give them the lists of food we want” Mom said
Evelyn nodded
“Why don’t we come back to that later” I said
They both agreed
“Next is decorations” I said
“I think we won’t need lots of decorations since it’s a beach party” Everlyn said
“Yes few flowers and decorations will do” I said
“We can explain that to the decorators. It must be royal too” mom said
I chuckled
“Can you please make the decorations, a little bit less royal. Not too royal please” I said
Everlyn chuckled
Been too royal will make it boring
“Ok?! What kind of rings to you want?” I aksed
She smiled
“Lian amd I agreed on a diamond ring” she said
I smiled
“Wow”
“What kind of music to you want?” I asked her
She smiled
“Which one do you think is best?” She asked
I rolled my eyes
I know of classical, hip pop, blues, jazz, rock, reggae and so on
They are so many, I can’t even name them all
“Well I think blues will go well for the couples entrance. Classical music, when the older people are with us and hip pop when we youngsters are the ones left” I said
“Liyah, ! You’ve got good brains. I love that!!!” She said happily
I smiled
I’ve got brains that works when it wants to and goes blank when it wants to.
“So music is settled. We can as well join others as time goes on” I said
“Yea. Let’s talk about the maids of honor” Everlyn said
I nodded
“How many did you need?” I asked
“Hmmmmm. Bride’s maid and maybe five others. I have Pamela as my bride’s maid and then Ivy, Becca, Rose, Bethel and you,” she said
Me??
H.ell no
“I don’t think it’s necessary I join” I said
“You don’t want to?” She asked
I rolled my eyes
Which part of the I dont, didn’t she understand
I dont want to be part of anything
“Who will be on the look out if I’m there wearing some sort of boring gown” I said
She frowned
“It’s not going to be a boring gown!!” She yelled
“I am not interested” I said
Mom glare at me and I shut up
“You’re going to be one of her maids of honour and that’s final!” Mom said
I frowned too
Can’t I choose what I want? Huh?!!
“What’s next?” Mom asked
“Wedding gown” I said
“We don’t have to talk about that” Everlyn said
I chuckled
“We can leave it if you want” I said
She ignore me
Whatever!!
“I think the last for now is the seating arrangement” I said
“I was thinking round tables will do. Then we number them and give out invitations according to the numbers” I added
“That’s a nice idea” mom said
“We can join you with troublesome people like you” Everlyn said
I chuckled
I know she’s angry at me for saying no; to be one of her maids of honour
“That’s nice but get ready to have a disorganised wedding” I answered with an eye roll
She turn to face me and wanted to say something but mom shut her up.
“Both of you should stop ok!!” Mom said
I rolled my eyes and relaxed on the chair
“For the seating arrangement, I think Liyah’s suggestion is good. I will be in charge of the siiting forms. I know what to do” she said
“Now Liyah let me have the list” she added
I handed over the list to her
“You can leave, I need to talk to your sister” mom said
Yeah!!!!
I chuckled slightly and finally stood up from the couch
“Enjoy your day sis” I said to Everlyn blowing ksses to her
She glare at me and I grinned
I walked out to a cool and fresh air
I should go to the garden and catch some fun
??Evelyn??
When Liyah left, mom gestured to me. I moved closer to her
“Everlyn, I have a plan work” she said
“What’s it all about?” I asked
“It’s about Liyah and the sitting arrangement” she said
“Ok?”
“You remember my friend?” She asked
“The one in New York” she added
I nodded
“Mrs George?” I asked
“Yes” she replied
“What happened to her?” I asked
“Nothing, you know she has a son, Kyle. I am thinking I could bring them together” she said
I chuckled
Is mom kidding me right now!!!
“Mom, you know Liyah won’t accept that” I said
“I know, we are going to keep it a secret. Just between you and me” she said
“I just want the best for Liyah” she added
I know she wants the best for her but Liyah, she’s just not going to accept that
“Mom, Liyah will not be happy if she finds out” I replied
She nodded
“I know. We will keep it a secret” she said
“Mom, liyah is a very smart girl. It will be difficult, hiding it from her” I said
“I know, that’s why I need you” she said
“I have an idea, why don’t you invite your friend and her son to North Richland. We could see Liyah’s reaction, when she sees him. We will be able to know if it’s ok pairing them together or not” I said
She nodded
“That’s perfect. That’s a good idea” she said
“Yea” I nodded in agreement
“What if she’s doesn’t react the way we expect?” She asked
“If she doesn’t act well with him, then we have to involve dad. You know she fears him a lot. Or maybe you can just tell her she’ll stop drawing if she doesn’t act properly” I said
Mom smiled
“That’s it. I will stop her from drawing if she doesn’t act well” mom said
I nodded in agreement
If she reacts well, we pair them together but if she doesn’t then we go for Plan B.
I am very sure Liyah will not want to give up her drawings.
It is just the perfect idea!!!
