“That’s the perfect plan!” I thought beaming
“I’m leaving” I said and made to leave the stable.
I got to the door and stopped. I turned to face him
“Thank you Author” I said
I left the stable and went to hide at the back of a tree. I waited until I saw h leaving.
“Good timing” I thought
I walked quietly back to the stable but found out the door was locked
Thanks to my friends who taught me how to break locks, I was able to break it. I looked around to be sure nobody saw me. When I was sure, I entered into the stable and went straight to Emily’s horse.
It’s a beautiful white horse. I made to touch it but it shifted backward
“Aishhh. Shhhhhh. I’m a friend” I cooed
I made to touch it again but it turned its head a bit preventing me from touching it
“You are as stubborn as your owner” I said
“Look here. You need to calm down. I won’t hurt you” I stretched my hand to touch it.
My hand landed on it’s crest and I caressed it carefully
“Good boy” I said
I held it halter and lead it outside
“We will be going on a long journey” I said patting it
Time to ride
I placed my leg on the stirrup iron and successfully mounted the horse. I hit the horse’s back and off we go
I had no mission to pass through the gate because I know how difficult that will be.
I directed the horse to pass through the forest. Few months ago, I came across a passage that lead to the city. I have been secretly passing through it
The horse was really very fast
Soon, I was at Melvin’s house. He is my bff. I dropped down and tie the horse to a tree.
“Be a good boy” I caressed it before going inside
“Liyah darling” Melvin said pulling me into a hug
He raised me up and turned me around
“Hey put me down” I yelled amidst laughters
He dropped me
“What did you tell the king?” He asked
“What do you mean?” I asked pretending not to understand
“Liyah, what lie did you tell the king that made him free you, cause the King Javier i know will not let you out, knowing fully well how troublesome you are” he said, sitting on the couch
I rolled my eyes
“Just tell me, you don’t want me here and I will leave. I’m sure David will be happy to see me” I replied, still standing
He chuckled
“Of course he will, after all he’s as cunning as you are” he replied
I sat beside him
“I’m not cunning” I replied with an eye roll
“Of course you are. Who doesn’t know the cunning little princess” he said
“Whatever” I replied
I rested my back on the couch
“I’m hungry” I pouted
“How can a princess with so many food at the palace be hungry?” He asked
“You won’t understand” I said sitting up
“I couldn’t eat much because I have to eat with caution just because I’m a princess” I added
“But you have everything you wanted” he said
“Yes except freedom” I replied
He stood up and went into the kitchen. Soon, he came out with a plate of cookies and two cans of soda. He dropped it on the table
“Oooh, I miss this” I chuckled slightly
I picked one cookie and munch on it. I love the taste.
“Hmmm mmmm” I hummed while eating
“Bad eating habit” he said, picking one of the cookies
“That’s it. I can eat the way I want here but in the palace, I can’t” I said relaxing on the couch
“That’s because you’re a princess” he said
“Do you know the ethics of being a princess, I can’t sit the way I like or eat the way I want. To crown it all the king is always complaining about my dressing” I whined
“Come on, don’t be a cry baby” he said
I glared at him and he laughed
“To top it all. The palace is as boring and quiet as a grave yard” I said
“Come on, I’ve been to the palace once or twice. It’s not as boring as you said” he replied munching on his cookie
“That’s because you do not live there, You don’t know how boring that Palace can be and dad won’t let me visit any friend” I said
“Liyah, everybody knows how troublesome and clumsy you are. I understand the king is only trying to protect you. if I am to be your brother I won’t let you out of my sight for a second” he said
I hit him playfully
“Am I that clumsy?” I asked
“Sure, remember how we met?” He asked
I laughed
“Of course, how can I forget” I replied
“It was at a coffee shop in Italy. I just finished ordering for a coffee but couldn’t wait to let him cover it up. I dragged the coffee cup from him and made to turn” I said
“You end up pouring the coffee on me. Thinking that was all, you puked on my body” he said relaxing on the couch
I chuckled slightly
“I was so embarrassed” I replied
“Yea and you ended up fainting” he said
“I never for once thought you were the cunning princess of North Richland that I have always heard of. I felt you were just some random clumsy girl” he said
I hit him on his shoulder and he whined playfully
“I also never believed we will become friends” I said
I placed my head on his shoulder and he caressed my head playfully
“Why don’t we take a bottle of vodka, it’s been long I take that” I said
“No, we can’t” he replied still caressing my hair
I raised my head up and pouted
“Please. Just a bottle” I promise
“No Liyah” he replied
I batted my long lashes rapidly
“Please!!!” I whined
“No”
“Please!!!” I gave him my best puppy eyes
“Ok. Just one” he said
“Promise” I replied blinking my eyes
He groaned
“You sure know how to get me” he replied
He stood up
“I will go get it” he said and went to the kitchen
“I love you” I yelled
??AUTHOR’S POV??
?Palace?
The king was furious when he found out Taliyah was out of the palace. Breaking the lock and leaving with the horse was another separate crime
“How did she succeeded in passing the gate without been caught?” The king wondered
He turned to face Everlyn
“How could you let her take your horse” the king yelled
“I’m sorry dad, she never told me she was going out with the horse” she replied
The Queen was sober, she knew the consequences of what the princess had done
“Why can’t she just be a normal girl like every other girl and a normal princess like her sister” the Queen thought
“Search everywhere. Make sure you bring her back to this palace!!” The King commanded
Troops of soldiers left the palace in search of the princess.
Everlyn couldn’t stop crying
“Why didn’t I sense she was going horse riding with the way she was dressed” she thought
“Now dad is really angry with me” she thought
The palace was sober and quiet. Everyone await the princess
The princess that has decided to break the rules not minding the consequences

She dropped the fourth bottle of vodka she was drinking. She made to pick the fifth bottle but he stopped her
“You’re drunk” he said holding her hand
“I’m not” she replied jerking her hand off his
She stretched her hand to pick up the bottle but he wouldn’t let her
“Let me take it” she said
“No Liyah” he replied
“Just a shot, I promise” she said as she made an attempt to take the bottle
“That’s enough, I’m taking you home” he replied standing up
He made to help her up but she refused
“I do not want to go home” she whined hitting him
“You have to. It’s late” he said
“It is?” She asked looking around
She laughed uncontrollably
“It’s just morning, how is it late, ? huh?” She asked
“You’re drunk, how will you know” he replied
“I’m not drunk” she replied
“Enough of your talks, I’m taking you home” he said
He drag her up and held her to prevent her from falling. She uses that opportunity to grab the vodka bottle and gulped down the last content quickly.
“Aahh, what sort of a girl are you” he groaned dragging the bottle from her
She chuckled, touching his face
He yank her off her feet and carried her out side
“Drop me down!!!” She yelled
He made her stand on her feet.
“Did you see my sister’s horse?” She asked
“What?, you came with a horse?” He asked
“Yes, I tied it on a tree over there” she said pointing at a tree
“There is no horse here” he replied
“Are……are you serious???” She asked
“Yes I am” he replied
She released his grip on her. She staggered slightly, looking around, she realised she couldn’t see the horse
She rubbed her eyes to be sure but it was the same the horse is missing. Realising what has happened, the tipsiness she felt dissappered
“I…….i….am in for it”
