CHAPTER 64
Jay faces Kim, who hugs him tightly.
“I’m sorry… it’s all my fault,” Jay apologizes while Kim only cries.
Jay holds her hand.
“It’s all over now… I’ll get you back home,” he assures while she nods.
Claire looks at them, and her anger rises again.
“That person… I won’t let you take him away from me again!”
Jay and Kim gasp as another gvnshot booms out.
“NOOOOOO!” Kim shrieks as Jay holds her shoulders tightly. Slowly, he reaches for the floor.
“No… no… no,” Kim cries.
Claire gasps and takes a few steps back from them.
Jayden gasps as bI.ood flows out of his back. He brings his hand forward, and Kim holds it midway.
“Promise me… you’ll… stay safe.”
“Jayden, no… no, please…”
“Don’t worry… I’m not gonna d!e… at least not yet. I made a bet with Jade… that on our first night in college… we’re gonna have a great time together,” he jokes.
Kim continues sobbing as he talks.
“There’s something… I haven’t told you, Kim…”
“Don’t talk, please…”
“I… agh!”
“Jayden!”
“I… I love… you, Kim… trust me, I do.”
“I know that, you f.ool!”
“No… not as you think… not as a friend… but as a… a…”
“Please, stop talking already…”
Jayden continues breathing unsteadily; one can tell his strength is giving up on him.
His hand leaves hers and falls to the floor.
His stream of bI.ood now flows onto the floor.
“JAYDEN!” Kim cries out.
“You… you, this is all because of you! You caused this, you… person!” Claire spits, and Kim looks over at her with a de.ath glare. Slowly, she leaves Jay and stands up with b.Ioodshot eyes.
“I’LL kll YOU!” Claire roars, making a move to take the gvn from the floor, but Kim is faster.
“D!E!” she rushes out and angrily sh..oots Claire.
The bvllets penetrate Claire’s stomach and chest, causing her to stagger back as she is sh.ot.
“JUST D!E, YOU Mon$ter!” Kim continues sh.ooting until the bvIIets are finished.
BI.ood flows from Claire’s mouth as she collapses to her knees.
Kim pants heavily, with her hair all over her face. The realization of what she just did dawns on her, and she instinctively drops the gvn.
She gasps, looking at her bI.oody hands, then at Claire, who is now collapsed on the floor, covered in bI.ood.
“No…” She shakes her head, moving back.
“NO!” She screams and falls to the floor, instantly passing out.
Claire gasps on the floor, staring at Jay in a pool of his bI.ood.
Her own bI.ood mingles with Jay’s.
Jay struggles, reaching his hand out to her on the floor, while she also reaches out hers.
“Mo…ther…” He mutters before his eyes finally close.
Claire crawls in pain towards him and eventually holds his hand.
“I’m sorry… my son… I’m so sorry… Jayden,” She also mutters in agony before giving up.
The three laid in ocean of bO.ood till the cops arrived.
