She looked at him questioningly.

“Let’s take things slowly… I want to take my time with you. It’s been a while, you know,” Jay said, still smiling, although reluctantly.

“Alright…let’s not rush,” she smiled and turned away.

“Take her back… I want to play with my darling,” she ordered.

“Okay, boss,” Tim replied, pulling Kim by her hair. He took her away, while Jay let out a pained sigh.

“Let’s play, my darling love,” Claire said, facing him and capturing his lips again, but Jay pulled away.

“What?” she asked, annoyed.

“How about you tell me what you’ve been up to over a drink? I think that will set the mood,” he suggested with a smile.

“Great idea! Tim, get two bottles of tequila!”

“Two… I want this night to be different,” he said in a flirty tone, while she grinned.

“Okay, we’ll do it that way! Hoo! I’m so happy!” She exclaims with laughter.

HOURS LATER.

After successfully getting her drunk, he took her to the room and helped her vndress, leaving her vnderwear on.

Sighing for the umpteenth time, he ruffled his hair and quietly slipped out of the room, avoiding Tim, who was soundly asleep on the couch.

“Kim… Kim,” he called, knocking on the storage room door.

“It’s me, Jayden.”

“Jayden?” Her soft voice came from inside.

“Are you okay, Kim? I’m so sorry… You got into this mess because of me.

I should have listened to you… I shouldn’t have acted alone. I’m so sorry,” he apologized, sniffling.

“What happened to your face? Did you get into a fight?”

“Diego pvnched me.”

“And what did you do in return?”

“Nothing… I just let him do what he wanted.”

“You should have fought back and pvnched him hard.”

“I couldn’t…” He fell silent.

“Are you okay, Jayden?” Kim broke the silence.

“I am_”

“No… you’re not,” she interrupted.

“I know… you can never be… everything must come as a shock,” Kim added, and he remained silent for a while.

“About earlier… the kss…” Jay trailed off.

“I know… you did that for me. Thank you, Jayden,” she said, and he nodded. Silence filled the air once again.

“She mistook me for your mother, Jay… she sees you as your dad,” Kim broke the silence once again.

“Is that even possible? Kim… Claire is… I heard about her… I heard what happened then,” Jay scoffed.

“I know… you told me everything when you found out about her back then.”

“Then how? How… Miss Ina, I just_”

“Your mother? She’s Claire… your mother.”

“No… no…”

“She explained everything to me before you arrived. How she escaped from prison and made everyone think she was de.ad. She wasn’t the one eIe¢trocuted back then.

She escaped a few weeks later after your birth.

She underwent plastic surgery and came back as Miss Ina. She has been keeping an eye on you from the beginning.

To her, you’re Liam, the man she loves, and I’m Annabelle… the lady who snatched her man away from her. That’s why she’s after me.”

“No… she’s not my mother… my mother is at home with Dad, and Miss Ina is just… a stalker obsessed with me.”

“Jayden… I know this must be hard on you, but… she’s dangerous. She might decide to kll me at any time if we don’t escape from here.

I… I want to go back to my family, Jayden… I don’t want to continue experiencing the pain of… what I don’t even know,” she sobbed quietly.

Jay couldn’t help but cry too.

He started hearing footsteps and immediately stood up.

“I promise you, Kim… I’ll get you out of here… just… have faith in me. And also… she’s not my mother… she’s just a criminal,” he said before sneaking away to avoid getting caught.

Tim walked into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water.

He kicked the storage room door, causing Kim to flinch as she covered her mouth with her hands to stifle her sobs.

After gulping down the water, Tim burped and left the kitchen, slumping onto the couch in the living room. He fell asleep within minutes.
