I was preparing some fishes for lunch when I heard the door crack open.
Pempem you’re back,hope you got the flour? I asked
Mum am back but I brought the flour with me. She said as she entered the kitchen and have me a peek on my cheeks.
Joan you’re back early. I uttered
Yes mum,I couldn’t go to the library today because I’ve a little headache. She explained
Have you taken any pills dear? I asked worriedly
Yes I’ve mum. She replied
Mum isn’t Jeff back yet? She asked
Oh yes he dropped by with a beautiful girl,her name’s Emily and he was given the scholarship into college. I said smiling
Really! Am so happy.. I wish to congratulate him right now.. mum can I go to Jeffrey’s workplace please? She asked smiling
Joan that doesn’t sound like a good idea,that would only distract Jeff from his work. I said defiantly
Mum please,I promise to behave. She said holding my hand.
Okay fine but pempem have to take you there. I instructed.
Thank you mum.. she said smiling and ran upstairs

On our way to Jeffrey’s workplace.
Emily do you have siblings? He asked
No am the only child of my parents. What about you? I asked smiling
I have a kid sister,her name is Joanna. He said
Okay.. but why are you just entering college now.. I think you graduated four years ago from high school right? I asked
Yeah,I had to start working to support my mum with Joan’s education. I promised myself to send Joan to a good school so I had to keep my promise am not getting well paid. He said
That’s so considerate of you, you’re such a good brother. How about you were offered an office job,what position do you think you can handle without much struggle? I asked curiously
Well with my qualifications,I can only be a receptionist or task carrier in a company. He said
You shouldn’t belittle yourself,I believe you can do more than just being a task carrier or receptionist. I said smiling
Not really. Emily we’re here and thanks for the ride. It was nice meeting you. He said smiling and came down from the car.
Wait a minute Jeffrey. I chipped in and came down from the car
Here’s my card and please don’t forget to call me when you get home. I said and he took it and stared at it.

I was seated outside waiting patiently for Jeffrey to get to work but surprisingly I saw him get down from a car and a girl came down as well.. she’s beautiful.
Did Jeff get himself a girlfriend without even telling me.
Jeffrey. I called out as the girl drove off.
Aaron sir,what are you doing out here alone? Jeffrey asked as he walked to me.
Just enjoying the lovely atmosphere. I said smiling as I stood up from the bench I was sitting and we both walked into the cafe.
‘ Jeffrey’s my best friend, we’ve been friends for two years now. The workers here in the cafe gets jealous of him because he’s the only one who I listen and talk to even the manager of the cafe is jealous of Jeff because he couldn’t make friends with me although he’s my dad’s personal maid’
Aaron sir you were waiting for me right? I think you have something you want to share with me? Jeffrey asked with a silly smile.
Why do you keep calling me sir,you make me look old, don’t forget you’re older than me. Well I wanna share my encounter with a girl with you. I said smiling
Okay but wait a minute,did you get yourself a girlfriend? He asked smiling
Not that. Stop killing the vibe. I chipped in.

I was busy with my makeup routine when Joan came in.
Pempem looks like you’re done with your customers?she asked
Yes dear.. my makeup was wiping off so I decided to add a little touch on it. What brings you here sweetie? I asked
Mum said you should take to Jeff’s. She replied
Okay sweetie… I should round up with my make up.i said
Pempem can I share a secret with you?she asked staring at me.
Of course dear,you know you can share anything with me goddaughter. I said staring at her.
Pempem, Lawrence and his friends still ganged up on me again but luckily a guy saved me. She said smiling
Lawrence still doesn’t it,I will teach him a huge lesson when I lay my eyes on him.. luckily sweetie you got resued you but do you have any who the guy is? I asked curiously
Pempem don’t tell mum or Jeff about this,am sure they would be upset to hear that. She requested
Fine… But Lawrence is a really boot head. Am not letting him go this time around. All thanks to your rescuer. Who is he dear? I asked curiously
He looks rich and he said his name is Aaron Delma. She recalled
Joan did you just say Aaron Delma? Sweetie his father is one of the most richest men we have here in Manila. I said with my eyes wide open.

Aaron sound like he found himself a crush.
Aaron do you like this girl you had an encounter with? I asked
I suddenly found myself thinking about her. Jeff I need to see her again,I wanna be friends with her and most importantly I want to know her name. He said anxiously
You will see her again am sure about that. I said smiling
You sound sure. He uttered staring at me.
Yeah, I never thought I would ever see Emily again but fate play dirty tricks and I saw her today. I said mesmerized
Emily? Who’s Emily? Is she your girlfriend? He asked
Emily was the girl I once told you I had an encounter with when we just arrived in Manila. I said
Oh! Your first crush and it looks like you’re still crushing on that beauty.. she was the one who dropped you off right? He asked with a teasing smile.
Yeah,I think I still got that chilling feeling. I said smiling
She’s beautiful just like the girl I met today. Hope to seeing her soon. He chipped in with a smile.
