I went back home but couldn’t find Joan,I kept calling her but no answer. I gave her 30missed calls on the 31 call she picked up.
Joan where are you? I’ve been calling you.. I said worriedly
Excuse me sir,the owner of this phone just got into an accident. The person said over the phone and I lost my balance falling to the ground.
Where’s that please? I asked curiously getting back on my feet.
Close to Delma’s farm house. He said and I hung up, rushed to my car and drove off.
When I got there, Joan’s car have been surrounded with people
Move! I shouted as pushed them away and opened the car door with great force,her head was bleeding already. I rushed her to the hospital.
Nurse.. I shouted as I ran into the hospital with Joan lifeless on my arm.
The nurses came with a stretcher and rushed her to the emergency ward.
Joan please don’t leave me. You mean the world to me. I said sobbing heavily.

I love you Emily,I love you more than life itself. You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. Jeffrey said staring at me passionately as he kssed me.
I wanna always feel special in your arms. I muttered in my mind smiling
I wanna grow old with you beside me. Jeff replied looking straight into my eyes.
I want you to always love me just like the way I do you. I said
My only wish is to love you forever,I wanna love you till my last breath. He said softly
I love you Jeff. I said smiling and he gave me a tight hug. His phone started ringing.

Jeffrey. Aaron said sobbing and I popped up from the bed.
Why are you crying? I asked curiously
Joan got into an accident. He said almost in a whisper and the shocking news gripped me
What? I shouted in a state of shock then Emily gave me a curious look.
Aaron narrated the whole story to me.
I will be there in five minutes time. I said and hung up.
What happened Jeff? Emily asked curiously as I jumped down from the bed putting on my clothes.
Joan got into an accident on her way to Aaron’s. I said anxiously
What! Jeff am coming with you. She said and opened her wardrobe,picked a plain gown put it on then we rushed to my car and drove to the hospital.
When we got to the hospital,mum and pempem were there already. Mum was sobbing while pempem was patting her back as he sobbed as well.
Jeff,, Joan. Mum said sobbing and pointing at the OT.
Mum she will be fine. I said and hugged her.

Seeing Joan in this condition really hurts alot. Tears couldn’t stop rolling down my cheeks. I didn’t realize my phone was ringing until Emily said so.
Hello mum. I said wiping off my tears.
Son what’s going on, you were to pick us up from the airport but you didn’t show up. Mum said seriously
Am sorry mum,an emergency came up. I said
Emergency.she repeated
Yes mum, Joan got into an accident. I said as tears roll down
And so… That isn’t enough reason for you not to pick us up,you haven’t seen us for good three years and that Joan, doesn’t she have a family to look after her. Mum said furious,I couldn’t take her nagging so I hung up.
The doctor came out of the OT and we all ran to him.
Doctor how’s my sister? Jeffrey asked nervously
The accident was critical,she had an internal bleeding on the head so it needed immediate surgery.. thank goodness the operation was successful,she has been transferred to the ward. Excuse me. The doctor said and left.

What was that? Did Aaron just hung up on me. I said furiously
James. I shouted from upstairs
Yes ma’am. He answered as he came in
Do you know the reason why Aaron refused to go to the states? I asked furiously
I don’t know ma’am. He said.
Do shut up. Next time I ask you a question you better give me yes as an answer or else you lose your job. I yelled
Yes ma’am. He said
Good. How close is Joan to Aaron? I asked looking away.
They’re very close ma’am. At times Aaron don’t come back home,he stays at Joan’s. He said
What! So Aaron spends most of his spare time with her?I asked curiously
Yes ma’am. He said
That won’t happen anylonger because Stella Delma is back and Aaron will only spend his free time with me. I said boldly
You know what to do. I added
Yes ma’am. He said and left.

I got to the states and went straight to mum’s office.
Hi mummy . I said
Darling you came back so soon. Mum said arranging some files
So soon but daddy said you wanted me back. I said
Emm…. Yes darling. Mum replied trying to cover up for Dad but why is that.
Mummy are you busy? I asked as I took a seat.
Not really sweetie. Mum said typing on her laptop.
Okay I just wanted to spend some time with my mum. It has been long I spent some time with mummy. I said as I brought out my phone from my purse.
Am sorry darling,Am just pretty busy lately because of the project at hand. Mum said still typing on her system

Mum take a look at the photos of Jeffrey Remirez’s welcome back party. Iris said handing her phone to me.
Wow Jeffrey Remirez is so handsome. I said smiling as I watched the pictures.
