Edmund the project should be ready in two days. My parents are coming back from the states so I want everything to be perfect. I instructed my secretary.
Ok sir. He said and left.
Sir an invitation sent to Delma’s Pacific. My assistant Angela said
OK, hand it over. I said and she gave the envelope to me.
You can go. I added as I opened the invitation.
OMG! There’s no way am not attending Jeff’s welcome back party. I miss you alot buddy. I muttered as I stared at the invitation and my land phone rang.
Angela get ready we’re attending a party tonight. I said
OK sir. She said and I placed the land phone back.

We got to the party and head straight to the restroom to put our plan into action. We finished plotting our surprise for Jeffrey then Joan and I went downstairs where the party was holding. Some guests arrived already. Joan’s family and Mr Santos my uncle arrived already.
Hi Uncle. I said smiling as Joan and I walked to him.
Glenda you’re here already. He said with a smile and stared at Joan.
Uncle meet… I couldn’t finish when he chipped in.
Iris. He said smiling
No, she’s Joanna Remirez, Jeffrey’s sister. I said smiling
Hello Mr Santos. Joan said politely
How are you Joan? But you do have a striking resemblance with Iris Lozado,the mayor Logan Lozado’s daughter. Uncle said with a confusing stare.
Am fine sir. People always mistake me for someone else so I get that back. Joanna said
Well Iris might be your look alike. He said jovially
Really? Joan said confused
Excuse me girls,I need to meet some of my business partners. He said politely and left.

Having a look alike those are stories from Indian series not here in the Philippines. I thought confused
Wow… Aaron’s here. Glenda said smiling
Excuse me. I said softly and walked to Aaron.
Babe you look beautiful tonight but you always look beautiful… Tonight’s missing tonight. He said with a smile.
What’s missing? I asked staring at him as he grabbed my waist gently and we walked to one of the tables to seat.
Joan,you look worried. Aren’t you happy to see Jeff? He asked and offered me a seat.
Aaron have you ever seen Iris Lozado? I asked curiously
Yeah but that was twelve years ago when I was in the states. He said
OK,you haven’t seen her ever since? I asked
Not really… She once sent me her photo but she was putting on sunglasses and a face cap so am not sure what her face looks like actually. He said

OK but does she look like me? Joan asked
Abit.. you both have same eyes,that was when she was little,I can’t tell now that she’s grown up. I said
Alright. She said not satisfied with my answer
But Joan what’s up with the questions? I asked
It’s nothing serious just that. She couldn’t finish her statement when everyone started cheering and clapping and everyone stood up from their seats.
I looked at the entrance it was covered with the mass media as they took pictures,flashes everywhere. I suspected they were taking photos of Jeff but this guy can’t be Jeff,I mean this guy is super cool.
Joan, Jeff’s looking so…
Handsome. Joan completed the sentence.
My bestie is looking so cool,he has changed alot. I said grinning from ear to ear still trying to get myself together as Joan and I went to welcome Jeff.
Jeffrey. Joan shouted and jumped on him giving him a tight hug.

I missed you Joan. I said smiling
I missed you more bro. Joan said smiling and tears escaped from her eyes but I wiped it off.
Jeffrey welcome back. Mum said smiling as she hugged me.
I missed you so much Jeff. Pempem said and hugged me too.
I missed you all. I said smiling
We should let Jeff say to hello to others. Mum said smiling and they walked to their seats but I held Joan’s hand and walked to Mr Santos and some business partners.
Welcome back Jeffrey. I heard how you took good care of Santos estate at the states. He said
Yes sir, it’s all thanks to you sir. Thank you very much. I said smiling
You worked hard for it. He said smiling as he tapped my shoulders.
Joan where’s Emily? I haven’t seen her. I said looking around.
Emily traveled to Japan yesterday,she couldn’t inform you because it was an emergency. She said

I was in the restroom admiring myself at the mirror when Joan texted me to come downstairs.. At first I became nervous and anxious, excited to see Jeffrey again.
Glenda bounced into the room smiling.
Emily you can’t imagine how Jeff’s face went pale the moment Joan told him you traveled. I guess you’re not the only who’s waiting to meet him. Glenda teased
That’s awesome. I said smiling
Let’s go downstairs. She reminded me and I stood up then went downstairs.
I was coming down the stairs, everyone’s eyes was on me. I noticed Jeff couldn’t get his eyes off me.
It was all Joan’s idea to make me look extraordinarily beautiful. I got to the last step of the stairs, Jeffrey walked to me and held my hand.
Emily I’ve missed you so much. He said softly staring at me.
I missed you too. I said smiling and gave him a tight hug.

I said hello to everyone.. Emily and Joan couldn’t let go of my hand for a second. Glenda took the mic and gave us a wonderful speech then she called me to come forward to the stage,I stood up and walked to stage.
Jeffrey we all know you have something important to share with us. Glenda said and hand the mic to me and went back to her seat.
Am thankful to everyone for spending this moment with us and special thanks to Mr David Santos,he’s the reason am standing here in front of you great people. Thanks also to Emily Santos the love of my life,the moment Emily walked into my life she definitely brought luck to me. Thanks to my family the backbone of my bones,thank you so much for always encouraging and inspiring me to move forward and keep fighting. Emily please come forward. I said smiling and she came to the stage.
I wanna use this opportunity to tell you this. I said and knelt down then brought out a diamond ring from my pocket.
Emily Santos,in front of this wonderful people and our love ones as they bear a witness to this wonderful stepping stone… Emily Santos will you marry me? I asked smiling at her.

Awwwwn! So romantic,go for it brother. I cheered smiling.
Joan, Jeff’s surprise for Emily is one million bigger than ours. Glenda said smiling
Definitely my brother is the best. I said smiling
Yes! I will marry you. I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. Emily said smiling with tears rolling down her cheeks as Jeffrey fixed the ring into her index finger, everyone started clapping as he stood up and kissed Emily on her lips.
I love you Emily. Jeffrey said passionately and gave her a tight hug.
After Jeffrey’s proposal to Emily the media ran to the door,I was so eager to see who was coming in but to my surprise it’s me…
Why’s she me? Or is she the mayor’s daughter? I muttered in my mind shocked.
