Episode sixty four
Vee
“Morning Fiancee… ” Alex says emphasizing on the word fiancee, a huge grin on his face.
I’ve just woken up and caught him starring at me.
” Morning love, ” i say as he leans closer to me and gives me a kss. ” How long have you been watching me, huh? ” I ask raising my eyebrows.
” Not long.. ” he says getting off the bed. ” I brought you breakfast .”
I watch as he places a tray on the bed.
” Breakfast in bed!” I say my eyes gazing at the coffee, eggs,pancakes, bacon and sausages in the tray. ” You are spoiling me to much, don’t you think? ”
” No.. I don’t think so . You are my queen and you deserve this and much more!”
” I love you Alex! ” I say sitting up,and hug him.
” I love you more, and thank you saying yes to my proposal. You’ve made me the happiest man in the world! ”
” No…you’ve made me the happiest girl alive!
When he proposed yesterday, I was beyond shocked! and I swear i was about to die from all the excitement.
I really never saw it coming!
I said yes to him squealing,and jumping up and down like a maniac. I couldn’t help but cry when he put the ring on my finger, with all the fireworks exploding in the sky!
It’s was magical!
A scene straight from a fairy tale! I literally felt like loyalty.
Everyone was so excited and happy while congratulating us, especially my sister and Rita. They were over the moon and even cried more than I did.
I still can’t believe that it all happened! I mean, I finally got rid of the night mare called Peter, found out i was pregnant and got engaged to the best guy ever! All in a one day!
What more could I ask for?!
Yesterday was the best day of my life and there’s no way I’ll ever forget it!
I know that all this is happening way to fast, but I feel like I’ve known Alex all my life! and with him is where I’ll always want to be.
” You know what, ” Alex says getting me out of my thoughts. ” Now I understand why they say that everything happens for a reason. If Stacy didn’t cheat on me, I wouldn’t have met you at the club. Am so grateful she cheated! I think i should thank her for that. ”
” Speaking of which, what happened to Stacy? We haven’t heard anything about her in two months now. ”
” Am not sure…maybe she gave up and decided to let us be. ”
” Stacy never gives up! ”
” I know, but let’s not spoil the mood by talking about her,” sitting next to me on the bed.
“Can we pray before breakfast? I haven’t prayed in a while and right now I have a lot of things to be thankful for, you been at the top of the list. ”
” Sure.. ”

” Hey guys, morning, “Maya says when she spots us walking down the stairs.
She looks kind of disturbed.
We are done with breakfast and all showered, ready to start the day.
” Morning,” I say as we join her on the couch.
” So.. How was breakfast in bed? ” she asks with a smile.
” It was fantastic! Don’t you think I have the most romantic man ever! ” I say leaning my head on Alex’s shoulder, as he ksses my hair.
” I do and you are lucky that you are my sister, or else , I would have stolen him away from you,” she says and I just laugh shaking my head.
” Are you okay?I can tell something is bothering you.”
” Actually.. am kind of worried about Rita.. She received a call yesterday at the party, and her mood suddenly changed. ” She says sighing softly. “She’s been gloomy since then, and won’t tell me what’s going on,she hasn’t even had breakfast yet! I think you two should talk to her. ”
” Okay.. Is she in her room? ” I ask.
“Yes…”
” Let’s go, ” Alex says and we get up heading to Rita’s room.
We knock softly on the door and she opens it, welcoming us in.
” Hey guys, what’s up!”
” Nothing much.. we just came to check up on you, ” Alex says sitting on the bed. ” Maya thinks something is bothering you. You know you can talk to us, right? ”
” Am fine Alex, you’ve got nothing to worry about. ”
” Come on Rita,we know you, and we can clearly see that something is wrong. You can trust us,” I say taking her hand.
” Okay.., ” she says hesitantly. ” Zac called. ”
” Who’s Zac?” I ask.
” He’s the owner of the brothel where I was kept. Well.. he’s actually the son of the owner, the one that fell for me. ”
” What did he want? Did he threatens you? ” Alex asks getting agitated.
” No..he’s in prison, he was actually convicted yesterday and got two years .”
“That’s great news!”I say looking at her ,but she doesn’t look happy at all.
” Yes it is, Atleast now we don’t have to worry about him attacking you again, but why aren’t you happy? ” Alex asks.
“Because, I love him,” she says nervously and we both look at her surprised but mostly confused.
” What? ”
” I know it might sound crazy, but it’s true. Zac is not as bad as we thought and he wasn’t involved in what happened to Maya. It was all his father’s doing!”
” How sure are you that he wasn’t working with his father Ava? And how and when did you exactly fall for him?” Alex asks.
” Zac called about a month and a half ago. He said that he had just found out about what his Dad did to Maya and he had no part in it. He proved this to be true when he turned his father, and all his accomplices to the police ,saving all the other girls that had been forced into pro$titution. He also turned himself in, ” she says her eyes switching from me to Alex. “He knew what his Dad was doing was wrong, but he didn’t have the guts to stop him, then. ”
“Have you been to prison to see him? ” Alex.
” Yes.. Am sorry, I know this is all crazy, and if you don’t want me to, I’ll never visit him again. ”
” You know I’d never prohibit you from seeing him, especially if you love him, but you to promise not to hide things from us again , ” Alex says.
” So.. Does that mean you have no problem with me have a relationship with him?! she asks her eyes shinning with excitement.
” Of course not! If he could sell out his own father to the police for you, then, I believe he’ll do anything to protect and make you happy, and that’s all that matters. ”
” Thank you, ” she says hugging him and I watch them, smiling.
A few seconds later, Alex’s phone rings.
” It’s mum, ” he says putting it on loud speaker.” Hi mum. ”
” Hi Alex, You need to come to the hospital right away! ” she says breathlessly.
” What happened? Are you okay? ”
” Am fine but, we just found Lisa uncouncious in her room, and are rushing her to the hospital right now
”
” Lisa?! What happened to her? ”
” Am not sure, let’s meet at the hospital. ”
” Okay.., ” Alex says hanging up.
We all rush out of the house and in thirty minutes we are at the hospital.
Lisa is still uncouncious when we get to the hospital, and right now Alex and I are in her room with the doctor.
” You don’t have to worry, she and the baby will be fine, ” the doctor says. ” She seems to be under a lot of stress and that’s why she fainted. You should take good care of her. ”
” We will,” Alex says.
” Okay.. One of you should come with me to get the prescription, ” The doctor says and Alex’s walks out with him.
Immediately after they leave, Lisa opens her eyes.
” What are you doing here? Where is Alex? ”
” He went to get your medicine. ”
” I think we should talk, now that we are finally alone,” Lisa says.
” Talk about what? ”
” You staying away from Alex. ”
” And what makes you think I’d do that? ”
” Because if you don’t.. Am going to kill myself,” she says grabbing a small knife from a table that’s close to the bed,and points it to her wrist.
“Really?! …that again?don’t you know of any other threats? “I ask letting out a small chuckle. ” You threatening to kill yourself and the baby because of a man, is just so pathetic! The baby deserves a better mother than you! ”
” Am not bluffing Vee! I’d rather die than watch the man I love, marry someone else. ”
” So.. You know about the engagement,huh? Anyway,You can do whatever you want, I don’t care !
” You’ve changed a lot Vee, ” Lisa says shaking her head. “You used to be the kind of person who’d sacrifice your happiness for others, but now…
” But now, it’s not about me anymore, ” I cut in. “I have a baby to think about and I won’t allow my baby to grow up without a father just to please you! excuse me, ” I say getting up, ready to leave.
” You know this isn’t over, right? ”
” Bring it on Lisa, ” I say walking out of the room.
