CHAPTER 74
Nicholas came out of his car and stopped on his tracks, looking surprised. He immediately brought out his phone to call an ambulance
“Alex.. Alex. Are you okay?” Brittany asked worriedly, lifting Alex up.
“Mommy?” Alex called out weakly.
“Britt..any”
Brittany turned her face to who called her and surprise was an understatement when she recognized his face.
“Justin!!” She rushed to him and lifted his head placing it on his thigh.
“Justin who did this to you..” She said worriedly, touching his shot tummy.
“I’m sorry..” He said weakly and cupped her cheek.
“Shh! Don’t talk, let me call an ambulance” Brittany said, bringing out her phone.
“It’s useless, I don’t have much time left..” Justin said and coughed out, breathing faintly.
“Listen.. Your step mother.. she’s not who you think she is..” He said and told her everything.
A tear fell from Brittany’s eyes.
“Why didn’t you tell me” She whispered and touched his cheek.
“I’m sorry Britt.. I lied to you” Justin said weakly.
“I’m sorry too… You got into trouble because of me” Brittany said.
“Please.. Save my sister,, she’s..she’s goi-”
“I promise..” Brittany muttered.
Justin smiled and cleaned her tears as a tear fell from his own eyes.
“In all these, if there’s one truth I’m certain of.. Is that.. I love you” He smiled and closed his eyes.
His hands dropped down from Brittany’s face. Brittany closed her eyes, letting her tears out..

RODRIGUEZ VILLA**
Hailey sipped on her drink while smiling to herself. She looked at her phone, awaiting the cal from Justin which will come any minute from now.
“Sir.. You can’t enter without madam’s permission”
“Move the fk out of my way”
The door of her room swung open and Xavier came in, all dressed in black. A maid stood behind him.
“I’m sorry ma’am. He was adamant” She said.
“Leave us” Hailey said and the maid bowed before leaving.
Hailey placed her glass on the table nearby and stood up.
“Already miss me?” She smiled, coming closer to him.
Xavier gr.abbed her by the neck and slammed her back loudly on the wall.
“How fking dare you!!” He snarled, adding pressure on his hand as if to snap her head off her body.
“Xa.. Xavier” Hailey choked.
“Our plan wasn’t to kll the boy. How dare you pull this stunt. How dare you try to fóol me! Do you know who I am?!” Xavier said angrily.
“Let me go..” Hailey said, scratching his hand but he didn’t move
Well when she was speaking on the phone with Justin, Xavier eavesdrop on their conversation. He got suspicious and decided to go to the sea only to see Justin almost shooting Alex.
“I’m warning you Hailey.. If I see a single and I mean a single scratch on my grandson and also on Brittany.” He paused and brought his lips closer to her ear.
“You and Valerie won’t live another day to tell the story” He said and released her.
Hailey fell on her knees, coughing loudly while holding her neck.
Xavier glared at her before leaving..
Hailey held her neck, gasping back to life..
“Fk…”

THE MORGAN’S**
Brittany rubbed Alex’s hair as he slept in his room. She kssed his forehead and stood up, covering him properly.
The poor boy was really traumatized with everything that happened so Brittany had to give him sleeping pills so that he could rest.
Justin’s body was taken away by the cops and now they’re looking everywhere for Justin’s sister. She was declared missing.
Brittany came out of Alex’s room to see Nicholas and Gracie. Nicholas immediately stood up and came closer to her.
“Need a hug?” He said and spread his arms out.
Brittany nodded and went to his embrace. She closed her eyes, inhaling his scent.
“Why? Why is it that everyone I trust and love, they either end up leaving for good or they end up betraying me” Brittany said with her eyes closed.
“I’m never gonna leave you, I swear.. I’m sorry I know it hurts” Nicholas muttered.
Brittany just kept quiet.

LATER THAT NIGHT**
Nicholas already went back home, when Jessica came back and heard the news she was beyond surprised. Right now, everybody was sleeping.. Everybody except Brittany.
Brittany finished tying the lace of her black boot and stood up. She picked up a gun and looked at it, though she wasn’t planning on using it but she’ll take it for precautions.
She tied up her hair and zipped up her hoodie.
“I made a promise to you Justin, I’m gonna stick to it no matter what..” She said inwardly and wore the cap of the black hoodie she was putting on before leaving the house.
