HAYES VILLA**
Nicholas walked back to the living room were the others were sitting and discussing for the upcoming wedding. His eyes was red and he had a blank look on his face..
“Nick!” Xavier exclaimed when he saw him..
“We were just discussing on where you guys will have your honeymoon” Xavier smiled..
Nicholas looked at them before leaving the house. Hailey nudged Valerie who looked at her.
“Now is the right opportunity to sympathize with him” Hailey said.
Valerie nodded and stood, following Nicholas. She caught up with him when he was about to get in his car.
“Nick wait!” Valerie said and Nicholas turned to her.
“I.. I’m sorry things had to turn out this way but its for the best. I promise I’ll make you forget about her, I’ll love you till my last breath” Valerie said and held his hand.
Nicholas looked at her hand and slowly removed his hands from her before facing her.
“I’m never gonna love you Valerie, never… Are you really sure you want to have a loveless marriage?” Nicholas asked and Valerie bit her lips.
He looked at her one last time before getting into his car.
He drove off…

Brittany got to her house and luckily everyone was sleeping. She went in and was surprised to see Gracie in the living room.
“You startled me! Thought you were sleeping” Brittany muttered.
“Why are you back home late? Alex waited for you till he fell asleep” Gracie said.
“I was at Xavier’s place. I ended things with Nicholas and I told him the truth. He’ll be getting married to Valerie in three days” Brittany said, removing her shoes.
“What!! What did Xavier tell you to make you change your mind” Gracie exclaimed.
“He just told me that he’s getting Nicholas married to Valerie and wants us to break up, that I don’t deserve his son. His words didn’t affect me that but,, honestly I don’t deserve Nicholas.. All what has done this whole time is to be there for me when I need him and I took advantage of it… At first I thought it was normal and that since they broke my heart, it won’t matter if I break another person’s heart but each time I look into his loving eyes I feel like I’m the worst person anyone could imagine” Brittany said and sighed.
“Anyways… Valerie will love him more,, more than I could ever do. If I decide to give him my heart, I’ll end up loosing him.. Just the way I lost dad and the others. Love isn’t meant for me,,, it never was” Brittany said slowly.
“Then…why are you crying” Gracie asked.
Brittany looked at Gracie. She slowly brought her hands up and touched her cheek and truly,, she was crying.
“I.. I don’t know” Brittany muttered.
Gracie sighed and pulled her in for a hug..

MORNING, N~HAYES INVESTMENT**
Brittany got out of the taxi and tucked her hair behind her ear as the wind disheveled it. It was particularly windy today..
She walked into the company and couldn’t help but notice the stares she received.
? Boss is getting married to Valerie Rodriguez in two days from now.
? Wait what!!
? Yeah I saw the news.. Does that mean they’re no longer dating?
? Guess so.. That’s sad.
? I’m not even sad about it..
Brittany got to her office and was surprised to see Nicholas’s door was opened.
“He came to work?” She wondered.
She went to his office and inhaled hard before knocking on the door.
“Come in”
Brittany slowly opened the door and came in. Nicholas looked up and their gaze met. He stared at her for some few seconds before looking back at his laptop.
Brittany exhaled and came closer to him with a paper in her hand.. She placed it on the table and shifted it to him.
Nicholas glanced at it before looking back at his work.
“Resignation form” Nicholas muttered and Brittany nodded.
“I’ll be leaving now…” Brittany said but he didn’t spare her a word.
Brittany looked at him for some seconds before she turned and left his office.
Nicholas kept working like nothing happened.
Brittany went to her office and packed all her belongings in a box which she carried. She looked one last time at Nicholas’s office before leaving.

“Wow! This gown looks so gorgeous!!” Sandy complimented her.
“Thank you. My mom knows my taste” Valerie smiled and twirled around..
Sandy faked a smile. Right now she was having mixed feelings in her. She was really happy for her friend but on one side she wasn’t, she felt somehow…jealous
“Can’t believe you’re getting married to the man of your dreams in two days” Sandy covered everything up.
“Me too! It seems so real!! I’m so happy gosh!!” Valerie squealed happily but when she remembered Nicholas’s words to her, her smile reduced.
“I’m so glad to be the bridesmaid!!” Sandy said, looking at her own gown which she will wear that day.
“You’re my best friend its normal.. Where’s Ruby, she’s supposed to be here as my other bridesmaid” Valerie asked.
“I don’t know.. Lately she’s been acting too strangely” Sandy said and shrugged.
“Strange? That’s new..”

“So you really resigned” Gracie came and stood beside Brittany who was gazing out of the window.
“Yeah, that’s better. He won’t get to see my face everyday.” Brittany muttered.
“What about your plans? You just have 3 days left.” Gracie said.
“I have a plan but that’ll be on their wedding day.. Since Xavier and everyone will leave the house for the church, I’ll just sneak in and take whatever evidence I have to take and then leave..” Brittany said.
“So that day will determine if you’ll be finally free or not” Gracie said and Brittany nodded.
“Aunt Brittany?” Angel called and they both turned to her.
“Uhm,, I made some hot chocolate if you’ll like that I can bring it to you” Angel said.
Brittany smiled and ruffled her blonde hair.
“I already told you.. Feel free Angel!, you don’t have to do things for me.. You’re not a burden to us okay?” Brittany said and Angel nodded.
“What do you think about resuming school? How do you see that?” Brittany asked and her eyes widened.
“Really? You’ll send me to school?!” Angel’s eyes brightened and Brittany nodded.
“Sure.. Just give me time to settle down what I have in hand and I’ll look for a good school where you can go” Brittany said.
“Thanks so much aunt Brittany!!” Angel hugged her.
“You’re welcomed. Now go change, we have to go to court remember?” Brittany said.
Angel nodded and rushed off. Brittany smiled and sighed..

“What!! You’re getting married to Valerie Rodriguez?!” Zayne spit out his drink.
“Yeah… Two days from now” Nicholas said and sipped from his drink.
“But what about your girlfriend… Brittany Rodriguez?” Zayne asked.
“Well she doesn’t love me.. Maybe things are better this way.” Nicholas said.
“You fell for her didn’t you?” Zayne asked..
Nicholas just kept quiet, sipping on his drink while looking at people dance.
Zayne rubbed his shoulder.
“I’m sorry bro” He muttered.
“These are reasons why I’m not ready for love” Zayne added..

“Like that? Nice! Perfect!!” The photographer said as he took countless pictures of them.
Savannah placed her hand on Kenneth’s chest and smiled lovingly at him as they took their pictures.
“Doesn’t this remind you of something?” Kenneth asked
“What?”
“Our first photoshoot together. You were so shy and were blushing really hard at each contact that we made.. It took me a lot not to laugh that day.” Kenneth said.
“You can’t blame me. Back then, my heart did cràzy things when you got dangerously close to me” Savannah pouted.
Kenneth pulled her closer, brushing his lips against hers.
“So you mean it doesn’t react to me anymore” He whispered.
Savannah gulped down and licked her lips, trying so hard not to blush but her cheek betrayed her.
Kenneth smiled and closed his eyes before pressing his lips against hers. Savannah placed her hand on his chest, kssing him back
The photographer kept doing his job, feeling so oppressed.
“I need to get a girlfriend” He thought.
