Valerie got to Nicholas’s office and was happy not to see Brittany. Honestly, she doesn’t want to speak to her.
Well Hailey got her face treated and refused to file a complain to the police about the person who did it to her. Valerie tried persuading him but she refused so Valerie had no choice than to comply.
Valerie fixed her gown properly and touched her hair before knocking on the door.
“Come in”
She turned the door knob and went in. Nicholas looked up and immediately smiled..
“Val! What a surprise” Nicholas smiled.
“Nick! I missed you so much…gosh!!” Valerie said and went to him.
She hugged him briefly before settling down on the seat in front of him. Nicholas resumed his work..
“How have you been?” Nicholas asked, his gaze fixed on the laptop.
“So stressed out. Managing a company is really tough” Valerie sighed.
“Sorry” Nicholas smiled.
“It’s been long we’ve gone out together. Come let’s go have some cake at the eatery nearby” Valerie said cheerfully.
“Val.. I’m really busy today” Nicholas muttered.
Valerie stood from her seat and went to him.
“C’mon.. It’s just for 10 minutes,, I have something important to tell you” Valerie whined.
Nicholas sighed.
“Okay.. Just for 10 minutes” Nicholas said and stood up, shutting off his computer.
“Great!” She said and held hugged his arm.
“Thank you!” She smiled as they left the office.
Nicholas just chuckled.

THE MORGANS**
“So Mr Justin is gone…” Alex pouted as she sat on Brittany’s thigh.
“You aren’t mad at him for trying to hurt you?” Brittany asked, stroking his hair.
“No.. I’ll do the same if someone took you away from me” Alex said.
Brittany pinched his nose and kssed his forehead.
“You sometimes act like a grown up” Brittany said, touching his hair.
Jessica already left for work.
“So the girl in your room is Justin’s sister” Gracie said, coming towards them.
“Yeah” Brittany said.
“Must be sad loosing everyone you love” Alex said sadly.
“Yeah… What she needs right now is someone to cheer her up even if it’s just a little. Can you do that?” Brittany asked Alex quickly nodded.
He got down Brittany’s thigh and left..
“Britt you know you just have 4 days left right?” Gracie said and sat down next to her
“Yeah I know and I’m honestly scared as fk” Brittany groaned and ran her hands through her hair.
Alex gently opened the door to Brittany’s room and went in. He met a girl sleeping on the bed.
She was putting on Brittany’s shirt and also her wounds were treated and bandaged..
Alex walked toward the bed and stood there, watching her sleep. Axel furrowed his and poked her forehead.
Angel moved a little and slowly opened her eyes. She was startled to see a kid staring at her.
“Who are you?” Angel rubbed her eyes and sat up.
“I’m Alexander but everyone calls me Alex… What about you?” Alex asked and sat down next to her.
“Angelica… Angel for short” Angel said.
“Wow! Our names have the same initiatives” Alex smiled.
“Yeah..” Angel said sadly and hugged her knees, looking away.
“I heard you’re Mr Justin’s sister.. Sorry about what happened” Alex said.
“I heard he tried to harm you. I apologize on his behalf” Angel muttered.
“It’s okay” Alex smiled and touched her hair.
“Hey! Don’t do that kiddo!” Angel slapped his hand off.
“What I’ve never seen someone with golden hair before. And I’m turning 5 next week… I’m not a kid..” Alex frowned.
“I’m 6 years older respect your age kid” Angel said and flicked his forehead.
“Hey!” Alex rubbed his forehead while frowning.
Angel chuckled slightly..
What followed was silence..
“We.. We can share my mom if you don’t mind. I’m sure everyone will love you here. I’ve always wanted to have a big sister” Alex said while looking away.
He’s not used saying soft words to anybody else apart from his mom so he’s a little bit embarrassed.
Angel closed her eyes fighting back her tears but it eventually came out..
“Sure.. I’ve always wanted a kid brother” Angel muttered and cleaned her tears.
Brittany who was watching them from the door smiled and left.
“Good job Alex” She thought.

CAFETERIA**
“Oh my goodness! What did you do to your long beautiful hair Ruby!!” Sandy exclaimed when she got into the cafeteria they were supposed to meet.
“I love it this way..” Ruby smiled, touching her hair.
“I heard about the scandal. I’m sorry,,, you lost everything” Sandy said, sitting down next to her.
“I was stúpid back then. My obsession made me loose everything including the man who once loved me. I deserve it” Ruby said sadly and forced a smile.
Sandy raised her brow.
“What’s happening to you. You’re so weird and different!” Sandy said.
“Well I met a man who changed my life” Ruby said.
“Wow..” Ruby said.
“She’s becoming boring” Sandy thought and frowned..

“I really love this cake.. So sweet and tender” Valerie smiled, eating her cake.
Nicholas smiled and looked sideways, sipping on his drink. Valerie just stared at him, his sideview was so enchanting that it made her heart flutter.
“Val?” Nicholas looked back at her, bringing her back to reality.
“Yes?”
“You said you had something important to tell me” Nicholas said.
Valerie nodded and cleared her throat. She bit her lips and took his hand, surprising Nicholas.
“Nick..” She called and looked at him straight to the eyes.
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you a long time ago.. I was just so afraid that it will ruin our friendship-”
“You love me…right?” Nicholas interrupted her.
Valerie looked away and slowly nodded..
“I figured it out the day I brought your sister to Aidan’s party” Nicholas said and slowly removed his hand from hers.
Valerie’s heart fell.
“I’m sorry Val. I don’t see you that way and also I love someone else” Nicholas said.
“Brittany.. I don’t get it,, why is everyone always all over her. Why her and not me.. I love you Nicholas” Valerie said.
“I know but.. I love Brittany” Nicholas said.
“She has a son! She’s already damaged!” Valerie raised her tone.
Nicholas immediately stood.
“Before I fell for her, I already knew all that.. I feel like this conversation will end up nastily so I think I’ll leave” Nicholas said coldly and left
Valerie watched him leave as a drop of tear fell from his eyes..
