Chapter 4
Martin was a dangerous man, someone to be feared. But should his ex be scared of him?
A smirk formed on his lips as he handed the phone slowly to the man standing behind him.
He had been searching for her since they broke up, or since she broke up with him.
All he wanted to do was capture her, keep her caged, and tie her to his b.ed forever, because being apart from her was a feeling he had yet to understand.
She had run away from him after announcing their breakup, but he had made sure to search for her.
When he saw her CV, he was shocked and surprised, and he didn’t waste time in accepting her.
“Finally, you are back with me,” he muttered slowly, biting his lip.
His plans for her were something wicked, something dangerous.
He was going to punish her for thinking she could run away from him.
Evelyn sat down on the bed, staring at the food in front of her.
She had lost her appetite; she was just worried that Martin would find her.
“Evelyn,” the door opened, revealing her sister.
“Someone is here to see you,” she said, and Evelyn felt that familiar feeling of fear again.
Could it be Martin?
“Who?” she asked shakily.
“I have no idea,” her sister answered, and she gulped. She stood up from the bed and walked out of the room.
She stretched her head to see who it was. He was sitting on the couch, crossing his legs, and staring at the TV. But it was someone else, and she sighed in relief.
“Harris,” she called as she walked towards him, and he smiled, turning to look at her.
“Missed you,” he said, and they hugged each other.
“Did you get the job?” he asked. Evelyn stared at him, not knowing what to say.
Asking that question made her scared.
“No,” she answered, and Harris sighed.
“It’s okay, I’m sure you’re going to get another job,” Harris said, hugging her softly.
Harris was her best friend, a friend to be proud of, a boy who always put a smile on her face.
They had met not long ago, but he had been a good friend anyone could ask for.
The knock on the door made them break the hug, and Evelyn stood up from the chair immediately.
She moved towards the door and opened it, coming face to face with him.
Her eyes widened in fear as he stood there boldly, like a king, with guards surrounding him.
She had forgotten about Martin, probably…
“Hi,” he waved, smirking as usual, and Evelyn gulped, trying to close the door.
But one of the guards had already held it, and he walked in majestically, his eyes fixed on Evelyn.
His eyes slowly shift towards Haris, who had been staring silently all this time, and a frown forms on his face before returning his gaze to Evelyn.
“Who is he?” he asks in an angry tone.
