Chapter 8
Suddenly, he let go of her, and Evelyn gasped in relief.
“How could you?” she yelled, tears flowing down her face, and the devil just rolled his eyes before sitting down and staring at Evelyn, who couldn’t stop crying.
“I hate you so much!” she yelled, and Martin scoffed.
“Here,” he stretched his hand and gave her a file. Evelyn stood there, motionless, glaring at him angrily.
She just wished she could get away from him. She wished her mother was fine so she wouldn’t have to meet this jerk.
She hated herself for not stopping him, for always being afraid of him, and for not being able to defend herself.
“Keep staring at me, and I’ll assume you want me to kiss you again,” Martin said, and Evelyn quickly looked away, wiping her tears.
She knew him too well. That wasn’t the look she was giving him, but she was afraid she might actually do what he said.
She harshly took the file from him, making the dvil chuckle.
“Those are important files. I want you to arrange them accordingly,” he said, and Evelyn stared at him with hatred and annoyance.
A part of her still had feelings for him, though she had admitted it to herself. But she would never admit it to him.
He stretched forth a notepad towards her, which she took from him.
“That’s a notepad containing my schedule,” he said.
“You can go now,” he said to her, turning to operate his laptop, while Evelyn just scoffed.
He hadn’t changed a bit. All he wanted was her body.
“You got what you wanted, right?” she asked, and Martin just rolled his eyes before looking at her.
“Your lips taste like strawberries, and I would like to have more,” he said, licking his lips as he stared at her.
“You must think I want to have sex with you… yeah, maybe, but I also want you to be mine forever,” he winked at her, and Evelyn sighed.
He looked so damn serious, but she refused to believe it.
She glared at him before walking out of the office. Martin stared at her through the glass, and a smile crept onto his lips.
“Hey,” Elizabeth waved through the glass, and Evelyn stood up, rushing to open the door for her as she walked in.
“Hi,” Evelyn smiled at her.
She was really happy to see her here.
“I was done for today and thought of visiting my new friend,” she said, still smiling.
‘Geez, she smiles a lot,’ Evelyn thought, staring at her.
“Friend?” she asked, somewhat surprised, and Elizabeth nodded.
“Or don’t you want to be my friend?” she pouted her lips, and Evelyn chuckled.
“Of course,” Evelyn replied. Her eyes widened in surprise when Elizabeth suddenly hugged her.
“Thank you for being my friend,” she said, making Evelyn smile.
She was also happy to have her as a friend.
“What do you do in the company?” Evelyn asked.
“We are in charge of the CCTV cameras. We take care of the cameras, and when there are issues, we are there to fix them,” she replied, and Evelyn nodded in understanding.
She turned to look at the other office. Martin was so engrossed in his work, but he could tell she was staring at him.
He might be playful, but during work, he acted professionally, and that is one of the reasons he is his father’s favorite.
“Hmm, what about that girl?” Evelyn asked softly.
“Hmmmm, you mean Grace?” she asked, and Evelyn huffed.
“Well yeah, I don’t really know her name,” Evelyn replied.
“Well, we are in the same department,” she replied, and Evelyn nodded, turning to look at Martin again.
“So why was she in his office? She didn’t even bother to knock,” she muttered.
“Did you say something?” Elizabeth asked, thinking she was talking to her.
“No,” she replied.
She didn’t like this feeling she was experiencing.
Not that she cares anyway.

?”Haris, I will be outside soon,” Evelyn said as she carefully put the documents in her bag.
She was on a call with Haris, getting ready to go home.
?”I brought some popcorn. I was thinking we should watch a movie, including Ava,” Haris said through the phone, and she chuckled.
?”What series are we watching?” she asked, smiling.
?”Are you seriously asking me? We both know Ava’s favorite film is Akeelah and the Bee, so that’s what we’re watching,” Haris said, and Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh.
?”She has watched that movie more times than I can count,” she turned around only to see Martin standing at the entrance of the door, staring at her with a weird expression.
?”Hmmm, Haris, I’ll be out soon. See you,” she said and ended the call, turning to look at Martin.
“So Haris is his name,” he chuckled.
“Yeah, I need to go now,” she said and tried to walk past him, but he pvshed her back.
“I hate that guy,” he said, and Evelyn scoffed.
“If you hate him, that’s your business,” she said and pvshed him out of the way before walking out.
He didn’t stop her but only stared at her.
“You don’t know what you’ve gotten yourself into, you son of a bch,” he smirked as he watched her walk away.
