CHAPTER 26
“What on earth!” She exclaimed, covering her lips, while Martin simply smiled.
“Never do that again,” she said, trying to sound angry, but instead blushing profusely.
“But I think you enjoyed it; your cheeks are turning red,” Martin teased, and Evelyn chuckled before stepping out of the car.
“I love you so much, Eve!” Martin shouted loudly, attracting the attention of passersby.
“Martin,” Evelyn called out irritably, while he laughed. Evelyn smiled lightly and entered the house, while Martin drove away from the premises.
She entered the living room and immediately lay down on the bare floor. She was exhausted, tired, and weak.
“Another tiring day at work tomorrow,” she muttered, sighing softly.
Suddenly, she remembered what had happened and couldn’t help but smile.
“Evelyn,” a little figure called, running to meet her, and she gently embraced her.
“Princess,” Evelyn smiled, kssing her forehead.
“Was work great today? You can’t stop smiling,” Ava said, and Evelyn chuckled nervously, finding it embarrassing.
“Yeah, probably,” Evelyn replied, and Ava smiled.
“Come on, let’s have dinner. I prepared spaghetti and vegetables,” Ava offered, surprising Evelyn.
“When did my little sister learn to cook?” Evelyn asked, playfully tickling her, making the little figure laugh.
“Good day, sir,” the guards and maid greeted as he entered the compound, but he didn’t respond.
He took off his suit and handed it to a maid who collected it with trembling hands.
“What the h’ll!” he exclaimed irritably upon seeing his friends eating in the messy living room and playing games.
The room was in disarray, filled with bottles and food.
“Welcome back, Boss Martin!” they all yelled, and he scoffed.
“You guys are so damn annoying,” he said, walking upstairs while they laughed.
Upon entering his room, he immediately smiled upon seeing Evelyn’s pictures filling the room.
He never stopped thinking about her, even after they broke up, so he decided to fill his room with her pictures.
Approaching one of the pictures, he kssed it softly.
“Uhmmm uhmmm,” someone faked a cough from the door, making him flinch.
“Oh, for God’s sake. It’s you, Cole,” Martin said, and Cole just smiled.
“Welcome back,” Cole said, and they lightly hugged. Martin didn’t really know why he was so close to the young man, treating him like a brother and listening to whatever he had to say.
“How was work?” Cole asked, sitting on his bed, and Martin chuckled.
“Great, let’s say.”
“Or maybe it’s because the pretty damsel was there,” Cole said, looking at Evelyn’s picture, and Martin nervously chuckled.
He was right, though. Seeing Evelyn made his day joyful and enjoyable, and he wished he could see her again.
He already missed her.
“Are you two dating again or something?” Cole asked, and Martin rolled his eyes.
