Where could she be? I ran out looking for her in the school compound. Jennifer and Jeffery came too
“This is all Harris fault”. Jenny rushed towards me and wanted to pick up a fight with me thankfully Jeff was there. He held her.
“What are you thinking Jenny? Does he look like Harris? If you’re mad at Harris then go and face him. Drake has done nothing wrong at all. What we should all do now is to pray Valerie is okay wherever she is and yes look for her .
I and Jennifer shifted our gaze on him.
“My brother said something so sensible for the first time in his life”. Jennifer said laughing.
I couldn’t help it but laugh. Harris has been a jerk for a while and I really want him to be dealt with.
“Let’s search for her. I’m really worried about her , did she take her phone with her? I said .
“No! Her phone and her bag is with me. Where could she be? Jenny said.
“Does she have any friends aside from you guys? I said .
“No, we’re the only friends she relates with “.
“Do you think she’s at work? Jeff said.
“No,she can’t go to work without me”. Jenny stated.
“Let’s go to her house then so we can know what to do next”
“What will Nanny Jade think of us? That we’re irresponsible? That we can’t look after her? Jennifer yelled.
She has a bad temper .
“Calm down Jennifer, Valerie is fine. Nanny Jade might know where she is”. Jeff said.
After school hours, we went to her house to see if she’s there.
“Oh my gosh! Who the hell is that Harris guy that he has the guts to treat my daughter like that? The short woman yelled when we got to her house and told her that Valerie is missing.
“He’s that cool guy that sings . This is Drake, one of the FOUR”. Jenny said.
“Hello Ma”. I stretched forth my hand for an handshake.
“Hold it right there young man! This is all your fault
“Nanny, he’s not Harris”. The twins chorused.
“It doesn’t matter,he’s a cohort . They did that to my poor girl and now we can’t find her”. She lamented as I moved close to her and hugged her.
Jennifer and Jeffery left when it was becoming late , they promised to check up later while I stayed behind watching Nanny Jade.
I laid her on the chair in the sitting room and covered her body since she’s asleep.
I waited outside for Valerie, hoping she’d come soon.
The cold was actually too much and I guess it would snow tomorrow.
Thankfully, I wore a white turtle neck and a grayish blazer and jeans. I tucked my hands into my blazer and brought it out again rubbing my palm against each other and blowing air into it to make it warm. I’ll go further by placing it on my cheeks too.
I did that continuously still waiting for Valerie. Thank God for my white sneakers,my feet would have gone numb.

After that short ride,I told him to stop somewhere so I can relay my thoughts to the wind .
“Thanks Ian, stop here please”. I said
“Your house is here? He asked and stopped the bike.
“Humm…Not really, I’ll trek down a little bit. It’s at that corner. Don’t worry about me. Hurry and go home. Thanks for today Ian. You’re a life saver” . I said hugging him.
He is probably not expecting that hug I had to do it anyways.
“I can take you there”. He wanted to get down from his bike when I held his hand.
“It’s fine, I can go home from here. I’m serious. Mom and Ivy must be waiting for you by now “. I said returning his helmet to him .

I wonder why she’s stopping me from going to her house.
But sincerely,I’m grateful. Thanks to her Ivy will start learning new things and Mom, she’s so happy.
My heart will explode if I kept staring at her .
“”Ahemm, Okay…take care of yourself, see you at work tomorrow”. I said and started the engine.
“Bye”. She waited till I was out of sight.

I walked towards my house . I sighed remembering I have no one to worry about me.
If my parents were to be responsible parents,they would have filed a report of a missing person.
It never occurred to me that Nanny Jade will be so worried.
Oh my gosh! Nanny Jade! The twins!
Sht! Valerie you need to think before you act .
I smacked my forehead. I touched my back pocket jean to see if my phone is there .
“Oh no! My phone! My bag? “. I closed my eyes and exhaled sharply.
Nanny Jade is gonna scold me and the twins are gonna yell at me for making them worried.
I headed towards the house when I saw someone I was not expecting to see.
Did something bad happen? Why is he here?
I increased my pace and I stood a far from the house. Then Drake looked at my side.
“Valerie? He said and ran into my arms.

I was playing with the little snow that dropped on the floor with my shoe when I heard distant footsteps.
I turned to the direction and there she was standing , all flustered. Her clothes still had the color of the drink she gave to Harris .
She stared at me blankly, she’s probably wondering what I was doing at her house?
“Valerie? I said and ran into her arms.
What was I thinking?
I hugged her for few minutes. She raised her hand up slowly and hugged me back but I was hugging her so tight.
I almost buried her in my grayish blazer.
“D-R-A-K-E….Drake, you’re choking me”. She wheezed.
“Ohh…I’m…I’m sorry…I’m so sorry”. I moved back and adjusted my blazers .
“It’s fine”. She smiled avoiding my eyes as I avoided hers too.
“Ahemmmm”. I cleared my throat and moved back .
“Have you been here since? And where are you coming from? Nanny Jade was very worried about you. She slept not quite long. I said questioning her like a baby .
“Calm down Drake”. She said moving away from my front as she turned to face the door and I did something.

Oh my gosh! Nanny Jade was worried about me.
And the twins too. What do I do?
I sincerely don’t know why Drake is mad at me for wandering off.
It’s not like I’m his girlfriend or his junior sister.
“Calm down Drake”. I said to him and moved away from him .
“So, where did you go to? He said.
“Boss,I’m fine…you don’t need to be worried about me. Let’s go inside”. I took his hand as we entered inside.
