Mariel’s POV
I collapsed on my bed… it was 9:30 on the dot and yet no call from the examination board.. I was giving up already..
My mom called me to come down for dinner and i rushed down and had dinner of Chicken curry..
My hand was still glued to my phone, I was expecting the call but yet nothing.
I stood up from the dinning chair and took my plates to the dishwasher..
I muttered thanks to my mom and aunt.
“Any call yet..?” My mom asked and I shook my head sadly..
“Don’t be sad sweety… just have solid faith in yourself” mom said and I nodded and hurried to my room.
I sat on my bed and my phone beeped… It was Nessa.
“Hello.. Nessa..” I said.
“Hey Mariel… i’ve got good news” she said.
“Wow.. what’s it?” I asked.
“Guess?” She said.
“Umm.. umm.. I don’t really know Nessa, just tell me” I pouted.
“Bad guesser… I’m in new york right now Mar…” Nessa said.
“What??… are you serious” I said.
“Yes.. babe.. i’m damn serious” she said.
My oh my, this is bad.. like really bad… Nessa is in NY, how am i gonna face her and tell her am dating Adrian.. her Ex.
This is so creepy and i’m certain it’ll freak her out..
I’m having mixed feelings right now.. i don’t know if i should be happy or sad..
“Umm… that’s great news.. Nessa, i’ll come see you tomorrow then” I said.
“So will you be at the function.. next tomorrow” She asked.
What function.. i thought.
“A function.. what function” I asked.
“It’s all over TV Mariel.. Nathan and I are gonna be holding a function for the company” She said
“Oh… i haven’t been really glued to T.V.. I had exams” I said.
“Oh… so you’ll be there right??.. I already told Adrian and he agreed.. so will you??” She asked.
“Umm… may..
“I’ll take that as a ‘yes’ see you next tomorrow Mariel.. bye.. love you” she said.
“Yeah… love you too” I muttered.
I’m not ready to lose my friend now.. isn’t this gonna end bad..
I called Adrian .
“Hello.. umm.. Ness
“Yeah.. she told me, don’t worry Mariel.. i already settled it” He said
“So… are we?” I asked.
“Yes.. we are baby and i want you to look your best” He said and i smiled.
“I will… bye” i said and hung up.
I collapsed on my bed and sighed.
Adrian already told her about our relationship but she didn’t say anything to me.. she still sounded so happy..
I hope this doesn’t get worse..
