Episode 10.

A nurse held Fredrick instead just when he was close to Silvia room and his mother faced him,
“What do you want to do? His mother asked.
“You heard what that woman just said right? Tell me what do you expect me to do with Silvia? Fredrick asked.

‘You are not to do anything do you hear me? His mother shouted seeing the way he was so raged but they heard struggles in the room.
“She’s there, the pastor said and they rushed in to see Silvia just at the window so terrified.

“What’s going on? Why are you there? Frederick mother asked looking around but Silvia went on her knees.
“Please I’m sorry, I am very sorry I want to confess, Silvia replied.

“Oh you want to confess now because your mother is dead right? Frederick angrily asked and her eyes bulged out,

“She’s what? Silvia asked.
“She’s dead! Are you aware of what she did to Alice! Frederick shouted and attempted to pounce on her but they held him.

“Please forgive me, she cried closing her eyes.
“Tell us what you did! Her father shouted.

“I was….. I was angry when Alice didn’t use me as her chief bride maid, I felt so very bad she used someone else when we practically grew up together. I even noticed ever since she had the job we went job hunting together she has been avoiding me and made friends with people of her class and I was not taking it funny anymore. I felt so down things was moving so fast for Alice and I was still the same, I felt cheated, I felt that It should have been me and not her. I shared this with my mother and she was also concerned because Alice mother was equally her friend. They used to sell in shops where my mother was doing better before Alice saved up from her salary and opened up a big super market for her in a moving location, my mother was equally pissed with the change and everything. She saw Alice as the reason for that upliftment and wanted to bring her down but I didn’t support it, I was scared of what it will turn out to be but then I died of jealousy when I saw the wedding preparations myself, Silvia said and burst out crying while everyone was quiet listening.

That afternoon she passed away,I decided to visit her and I met her eating meatpie with mirinda. She quickly told me my mother gave it to her when she passed by the shop and she went in to show me something, something that concerned her wedding of course. She only had few bites of the meatpie with the drink untouched while I looked at it, but then I heard a fall inside and rushed in to see her holding her neck and feeling weak.

I didn’t know what to do, so I ran out and called my mother but she only told me to go and I quickly understood she finally carried out her plan.

I told her the meatpie and everything is still here, but she told me to clear the scene. I quickly opened up the sealed mirinda and flushed it in the toilet and returned the meatpie to my bag and ran back to the room. I met her crawled to where her phone was and was about to make a call, I quickly got the phone from her and threw it away and she looked at me. She asked what I was doing when I was suppose to call for help as her friend, but i asked if it will be a crime if she dies and be in peace. She saw death clearly and was so scared, I watched her struggled with death begging me to help her out, but I couldn’t until she breathed her last, I was the last face she ever saw and I am so sorry please forgive me, Silvia cried begging while Frederick fell on his mother crying.

“Silvia! Her father shouted and touched his chest going down.
“He’s having a heart attack! A nurse shouted holding him……………

The next day Silvia got arrested while her father was hospitalized. The old man was not able to bear the pains of what his wife and daughter has done.

Franca and Eunice got to hear about it and gasped,
“I said it, why will make a ghost haunt her that way for no reason? Franca asked.
“I can’t believe this, in fact I’m having cold feet. Can Silvia really do that and shamelessly had her way to her fiance life or did she do that to get Frederick? Eunice asked.

“I feel so ashamed right now, I feel so stupid! Was I hurting Alice when i was courting her killer! Frederick said and violently rubbed his head and they sadly looked at him.
“After Alice died I decided to leave the country, I was so devasted to continue here anymore and after two years that was when Silvia slowly came in. First she added me through the Internet and I could not shut her out knowing she was my fiance friend. we began to talk, became friends and then this, what did I do! Frederick continued and bowed his head.

“It okay, it was not your fault. How were you suppose to know this happened? Probably Alice was also waiting for her own big day to expose her, she must be a very quiet lady because I would have done worst, Franca said.
“Don’t even think of such a thing, Eunice said and they breathed out.

“Her poor father,how is he coping? Franca calmly asked.
“His hospitalized. Right now I want to see Alice sick mother. She broke down after the death of her daughter, I don’t know how she is going to handle this, Frederick said and painfully closed his eyes and the pastor and his mother approached them.

“Silva has been crying all night begging for mercy, His mother said.
“Is that to make me feel better? Or will that bring back Alice life? Frederick angrily asked.

“Remember she didn’t kill Alice, the one who did the poisoning is dead, his mother said.
“What am I supposed to do with that! Frederick shouted and stood up from where he sat and his mother went backwards.

“Dont tell me you’re falling for her tricks to make you get her out of there, if she thinks I will ever have her back then she’s a big dreamer! Frederick continued and drove out immediately.
“Why does he have to go through so much pain, his mother sadly said as she watched him drove off.

“Its not easy for him right now, once again he has been made to remember his lost fiancee and to think he was about getting married to the one who watched her die is another pain on it own for him, Eunice said holding her.
“I just have one question now, is Alice satisfied? Eunice asked and they looked at her……………

At the station, Silvia sat down on the floor so drained and weak as she covered her head on her raised knees, then she saw a bright light and opened her eyes and saw Alice and she recognized the dress she wore before she died.
“I’m sorry, Silvia weakly said.
“Are you? Alice asked and she sniffed.

“I am ready to serve my punishment here, I am not in a hurry to leave this place. Let the job be taken away from me and let Frederick leave me, if that will make you forgive me then I am ready to bear it all. I couldn’t take it when you died, but then my mother kept on hardening me, I was such a fool, Silvia replied.

“Did I really ignore you? Was I not a good friend to you? Did you ask why I didn’t use you as my chief bride maid? Why didn’t you tell me you wanted that or have I denied you anything you’ve asked of me? Alice asked and Silvia shook her head shivering.

“I’m human please, I couldn’t stop it when I became envious please I am begging you forgive me, please, Silvia replied.
“Ask that forgiveness from my mother.

Everyday her tears makes me restless here, until I see my mother back to who she used to be, then will I forgive you, Alice said and disappeared and Silvia tearfully nodded……………..

Frederick arrived at Alice mother place and met her siblings who welcomed her.
“Thanks. Where is mama? He asked.
“She’s inside, Alice brother replied and he went in and saw her sitting down with her head leaned on the sofa. Depression made her old with white hairs all over as she held her stick while sitting down.

Frederick stood at the door looking at her and began to cry and she woke up and saw him,
“What happened? Come over here why are you crying? She asked and he went to her and sat on the floor holding her leg..
“Its okay son, is it because of what happened at your wedding? Its okay please God will take control, she said touching his head.

“He has already, mama I am so sorry, Frederick said.
“What are you saying? She asked.

“Its….. Its Alice, he replied.
“What did Alice do? She anxiously asked and he closed his eyes.

“Is she back to life? Has she come back to me? She asked looking around and he shook his head.
“She came back to haunt for her killer and it was your friend and Silvia, Frederick replied.

“Silvia mother poisoned my daughter? She shakily asked.
“Yes, and Silvia helped in disposing it that’s why we couldn’t detect or get where and how the poison came about and she’s dead but her daughter is in prison now. Mama I’m so sorry I married the killer of your daughter, Frederick replied and tears streamed down her face.

“So she did such a thing to me and came back comforting me as a friend? So my friend brought me such misery and still lingered to show me love? Na you dey do me dey pat my back dey fan me sorry, ahhhhh! she said hitting her chest crying and her children ran in to hear the news………..

Alice mother insisted to see Silvia and Frederick had no choice than to drive her down there. Silvia was escorted out and when she saw Alice mother she slowly went on her knees,
“Mama please, please don’t curse me more than you already did, I am so sorry, Silvia said and she closed her eyes shaking her head.
“Ahhhh Alice! Her mother said crying all over again and Silvia held her legs.

“Please please I’ll cry for your forgiveness for as long as I live, that is the only way Alice can forgive me. Please mama I’m very sorry, my mother pushed me that far, Silvia cried and Alice brother angrily pushed her but Fredrick held him when he wanted fighting her.
“You have the guts to touch my mother! He shouted.

“Hit me, push me, do whatever you want I deserve it, please forgive me, Silvia cried.
“Take her away, take me out from here, Alice mother said.

“Mama please am sorry, mama please! Alice cried out but she was dragged inside.

3 weeks later, Silvia was sentenced 2 years of imprisonment and she bowed her head. Alice mother sniffed and looked at Frederick,
“That won’t bring back my daughter you know, she said.
“But then she has to be punished, Fredrick said.

“She’s already sorry for what she did, that’s the essence of putting one there so the person will be changed right? She asked.
“Mama she has to pay for what she did, she was wrong, Frederick said..

“I’m not angry anymore, am relieved now because my daughter carried out just what I wanted and I’ve forgiven her. I told you to let this go but since you insist its left for you, She said and Fredrick surprisedly looked at her.. They watched her taken out handcuffed and Franca breathed out,
“Life! She whispered and sadly stood up with Eunice.

Alice mother kept visiting Silvia in prison and Silvia was happy to see her getting better.
“Mama seeing you makes me happy in here, I am gladly serving knowing you’ve forgiven me, Silvia said and Alice mother heaved.

“What was I suppose to do? Keep on hating you and fueling myself with anger? When I forgave you, I also did myself that favor because I found the strength to bear my hurt. What I thought was impossible became so simple and that’s what forgiveness can do.
