Michael’s POV
.
After completing my mission I drove back to the agency and packed the car at the parking lot then entered the lobby.
I love my job and I love what I do because it makes me happy and people around me love me as well.
I see agents moving around while some were stuck to the computer punching away at the keyboard.
As I walked by, those who saw me congratulate on the success of the mission while I smiled in return.
” Nice Job, Mike”
” Agent Hawk, you’re the best”
” Woww, that was great”
” Thank you guys” I replied then keep walking.
” My man, how was the mission?” One of the agents asked as I entered.
” It’s a piece of cake, Brian” I replied smiling.
” I trust you ” he replied then I walked off then met with another agent.
” Are you even human?”
” I heard there was about 20 arrested hooligans and here you are without a scratch” he said and I smiled.
” What can I say……I’m just that good” I replied.
” If you keep that up others will start getting jealous of you……I can see the female agents getting dreamy of you” he said.
” If anyone wants to know my secret…..all they have to do is ask” I replied then left and on my way to the office I met with the deputy chief.
Mr Hassan is the second-in-command in our agency and also a nice man, at least he’s nice to me.
He took me as a son and sometimes gave me some advice on some things, I see him as my counselor.
” Mike, you’re back” he said as I went to him.
” Yes Sir” I replied.
” Mr Axel is safely on the plane to his country and he gave his feedback concerning you” he said.
” What did he say? ” I asked even though I have a clue what it might be.
” He said your driving skills is terrible and you’re lacking so many things as an agent” he informed and I laughed.
” The man is a douche ”
” I just saved his ugly a** and this is what he’s saying, he can go to he.ll” I replied.
” Well, that’s not a problem……what matters is that you carried out your mission and the client is safe”
” Good Job” he commended.
” Thank you sir”
” I got a report about the goons that attacked you……they were arrested while some were in bad shape” he said.
” That was a close call back there, I saw the car it was a mess” he added.
” It’s nothing boss” I replied.
” You should rest……see you later” he said then he left and I went to my office.

Few hours later I left the agency and head to over Asson Laboratory to meet my friends.
I have three great friends, we’ve been friends since University and we are still together.
The three of them unlike me are scientist and they are working for same company.
Derrick, he graduated as a Biotechnologist and he’s one of the best I’ve seen so far.
Lara, the only woman among us, she graduated as a Biochemist.
And then Tony, he’s an half-caste, he claims he’s a Nigerian but his mother is not and he’s a bioengineer.
It’s funny how I became friends with these science geniuses while I’m the only one who’s an agent.
I guess it’s because I love having genius around it also makes me a genius, I’m also an expert in hacking and other computer stuff courtesy of my father.

Few minutes later, I arrived at the Lab and parked my car in a safe spot then got out.
I frequent this place almost everyday so the security have no issue with me so I went inside.
I went to their department and met them Workings as usual, sometimes I wonder if scientist ever rest.
I just hope they’ve complete my package because I’m really going to be needing it soon.
Two months ago, I asked them to work on something which will come in handy for me during my mission.
Three weeks ago they showed me the prototype and I love it and they promised it will be ready this week.
” Hey guys” I said as I entered.
” You’re here already” Lara said immediately she saw me.
” You’re Early, I thought you have a Job” Tony said sarcastically.
” Are you guys plotting against me?, Because I can see you giving each other a strange glance” I said.
” It’s the package you asked for” Derrick said.
” Please tell me it’s ready” I said.
” That’s the problem……We are having some difficulties with it” he said.
” What!…..are you serious?”
” You told me it will be ready this week, so the three of you can’t come up with something good?”
” I expect you to be done with it by now and you’re giving me a shitty response” I said.
” Calm down big boy, it’s not like you’re paying us, we are working out ass out here” Tony said.
” What!…..are you kidding me?, I paid you in advance” I countered.
” Shut up, the money you paid was little…..we have to steel some of the companies tech to do it” Derrick snapped.
” Lower your voice guys, if the boss hear us saying this…..he won’t be happy” Lara cautioned.
” You guys are unbelievable, so I can’t have scientist as a friend who are able to help out a friend” I said.
” Calm yourself Mikey, we are just pulling your leg, Everything you asked for is ready” Lara said smiling.
” Got you man” Tony said as they started laughing.
” You’re not serious” I replied as Lara bring out two briefcase.
” Though, you still owe us some money…….the money you paid was little, this is a million naira package” Lara said.
” Fine, let me see what I’m paying my money for” I replied then she opened the first briefcase containing three guns.
” Tony, over to you” she said the Tony stood up and picked up on gun.
” This is a specially customized gun for a specially customized bullet, courtesy of Derrick and I”
” This is a dendrotoxin gun, it fires just like real gun but in it case it knocks out your opponent for approximately two hours” he explained.
” These are the bullets and we will make more every week as long as your money keeps rolling in” he added.
” Wow, I like it” I said taking one in my hand.
” I can work with this, what do you call this gun again?” I asked.
” Dendrotoxin gun” he answered.
” I’m not calling it that, I prefer D-gun” I said weighing it one more time then put it back.
” I love it, Lara, what do you have in there?” I asked pointing at the other briefcase and she opened it.
The case contains liquid substance with injections.
” This is a special formula I made up with help from Tony and we came up with this serum”
” This is a Subdermal body armor, a body modification that is injected into the skin, therefore allowing the body to heal over the implant and creating a raised design.
” When a projectile impacts your body at speed, it hardens very quickly and absorbs the impact energy ” she explained.
” It give you no physical abilities other than to protect you from external force” she added.
” So you’re saying even when I’m shot at or stabbed, I won’t feel a thing” I said.
” Nothing because your skin will be impenetrable making you a bulletproof” she confirmed and I smiled broadly.
” You guys are the best…….this is perfect” I said.
” Yeah we know……even though you’re still owing us” Tony said.
” Shut up Tony, tell me is there anything I should know about?”
” You know like…..side effects and others” I asked then Lara twisted her face.
” Actually, there are few side effects” she said.
” Are they bad?” I asked.
” The serum will wear off for approximately twelve hours and throughout those twelve hours you won’t be able to sleep” she explained.
” I can work with that……. anything else?” I enquired.
” The serum don’t protect you from explosive, so if I were you I won’t be playing Superman” She said.
” Okay, is there anything else?” I asked again.
” When the serum is active you won’t feel any pain, but when it wear off you will feel everything and trust me it will be much” she said.
” Please tell me that’s all” I said.
” That’s all I know for now” she replied.
” Thank you Guys and please let this stays between us, the agency shouldn’t know about the serum”
” You have nothing to worry about”

The reason I asked for serum is for protection and the reason I asked for the gun is so that I won’t make another mistake.
UNKNOWN ENEMY: Episode 1 – 10
A year ago, I was sent on a mission and during this mission I mistakenly fire a gun which hit a civilian.
The Lady died on the spot and it weakened my soul as it was the first time I killed an innocent person.
It was alot harder than the first time I killed someone, it took me months to get over it and promised never to let it happen again.
Now with what I have I know for sure it won’t happen again.
