Michael’s POV
.
I hurried out of my office and see my sister standing and chatting with the agents like long time friends.
I waited for a while watching her as she went to seat beside Pete and started talking with him.
I watched and tried to figure out why she could be here or exactly what she’s doing here in the first place.
This got me confused as to why she came here and I just can’t shake the feeling that something is going on.
I went to her and grabbed her by the arm and dragged her outside then she jerked her hand off immediately we reached outside.
” Stop, what’s wrong with you?”
” Are you crazy?” She said.
” What are you doing here?” I asked.
” How do you expect me to stay in that boring house alone?” She said.
” You should have thought about that before coming to my house unannounced and now you showed up at my office”
” How did you find this place?” I asked.
” Seriously, do you even have to ask that?”
” I find your house, I can definitely find where you work” she replied.
” Just come clean with me sis, what exactly are you doing here?” I asked.
” I told you I miss you, is that so hard to believe?” She said.
” Bullsht, I know you very well sister,…I know you to be the troublesome one but you’re not that hard to read” I said.
” There’s something going on that you’re not telling me” I added.
” You’re dreaming bro, there’s nothing going on” she denied which only assure that there is.
” Ever since you got here you tried so hard to cover your main reason for being here by acting sassy”
” You’re up to something, I know that, you’re here for a reason and it has nothing to do with me” I said and she smiled.
” My brother, the clever Agent Hawk ……Fine, you got me….. actually I was…..” she stopped when the Chief came out and saw us.
” Sir, are you heading out?” I asked.
” Yes, I have a meeting to get to” he replied then turned to Mercy.
” And who is she?” He asked.
” Oh, she’s a friend Sir” I replied.
” Good morning sir” Mercy greeted.
” Morning dear, how are you doing?” Chief asked.
” Great sir, thank you” Mercy replied.
” Hope she’s not the annoying friend you’re referring to yesterday, who almost couldn’t stop calling yesterday” chief said smiling.
” Oh no Sir, she’s not” I replied smiling and Mercy was staring at us strangely probably confused.
” Alright, see you Later” chief said then went off to his car.
” Which friend are you two talking about?” She asked.
” Nevermind” I replied.
” Actually I do, am I the annoying friend your boss is referring to?” She insisted.
” You’re not, Okay…….that was someone else” I replied.
” It better be”
” so tell me, Why are you here Mercy?” I asked.
” Fine, but promise you will never let Mom and Dad know about it” she said sternly.
” Fine, I promise…….just tell me already” I said.
” The part that I said I miss you was actually true but the main reason I’m here is to meet my boyfriend” she said.
” Your boyfriend?….. seriously?” I asked.
” Why do you made it sound like I can’t have one?” She said.
” no don’t get me wrong, I’m just surprised that you’ll come all the way from Lagos to this place for boyfriend” I replied.
” The guy and I have been dating for some months now and it’s online dating and we decided to meet” she said and I laughed.
” This is unbelievable” I said.
” C’mon, when love is involve you can do just about anything, that’s how love is….You should try it” she said.
” Really?, You?… Love” I giggled in contempt and she punched me playfully.
” Why do you sound surprised?……you sound like I’m not capable of love”
” I’m human after all” she added.
” So why can’t you just head over to his place directly?……. why make my life miserable?” I asked.
” The part that I said I miss you was true…..and beside I like troubling you the most” she said.
” So when are you going to meet your “boyfriend” ” I said.
” Today, which is why I came here to tell you…..you left in a hurry so I couldn’t tell you” she replied.
” You could just call” I said.
” I thought about it then I decided to make one more surprise before leaving” she replied.
” Fine, Just get going and let me breathe” I replied and she smiled.
” Fine, I’ll stay out of your hair…… you’re a boring company anyway…..Bye” she said turning to leave.
” Mercy” I called and she turned.
” Be careful” I added and she smiled.
” Of course bro” she replied then took a cab and left.
I went back inside and Pete stood from his seat and came to meet me.
” Mike, c’mon….you got to tell me who she is” Pete said.
” Why?, What happened?” I asked.
” Nothing bro, I think I like her already….. she’s just…. damn… she’s great” he said and I chuckled.
” Trust me bro, she’s definitely not your type…… she’s crazier than you think, she’s just fllrting with you earlier” I replied.
” C’mon man, who is she to you?” He asked.
” She’s just a friend, and trust me Bro…..you don’t want to get close to her” I replied then started walking away then I stopped.
” Pete, what were you two talking about?” I asked.
” Nothing, just getting to know each other but she keep asking about a guy” he said.
” Oh….okay” I replied then we went to my office.

An hour later my phone started ringing and it turned out to be one of my friends Lara.
? ” Wassup, Lara” I said Immediately I picked.
? ” Mikey, can you please come over?” She said with a trembling voice.
? ” Is everything ok? Lara” I asked.
? ” I need your help, please come over” she said again.
? ” Alright, alright….. I’m on my way” I replied and the call disconnected.

I picked up my car keys and went out to my car and drove straight to the Lab.

Some minutes later I arrived at the facility and went inside the Lab and see my friends worried face.
” Hey guys, what’s going on?” I asked as I entered then Lara came to meet me.
” Mikey, it’s my roommate…. she’s in trouble” she said in tears.
” Calm down Lara, and tell me exactly what happened” I said.
” My roommate Sarah went to her boyfriend’s place to visit and she hasn’t return and it has been two days now”
” I tried her phone but it was switched off not until an hour ago I received a voice not from her with another number” she explained then bring out her phone and play the voice note.
??” Lara, Lara… please help me, I’m in trouble and right now I’m being pursued by some people”
??” They were sent by my boyfriend….. please I need your help…..I don’t know exactly where I am but I……”
??” NO NO, PLEASE DON’T…..NO……..” The recording stopped.
” That was the last thing I heard from her…..I tried calling back but it was unreachable, please help me find her” she said.
” Calm down please, tell me who is her boyfriend?” I asked.
” I don’t know, I haven’t met him and the only thing I know about him is the name Fred” she answered.
” I don’t have enough intel to know where exactly to look, do you at least know where he lives?” I asked.
” I don’t know, Sarah isn’t someone is talk about her relationship” Lara replied.
” I’m afraid this might be difficult because we have no clue who this guy is, uhm, give me the number she messaged you with”
” I’m not sure about this but it’s worth a shot” I added then she started calling out the number.
” What do you plan to do?” Derrick asked.
” I need to trace the number to the last point she made contact before her phone disconnected” I replied.
” That doesn’t mean she might be there but it’s a good place to start” I added.
” You can use my laptop, I’ve been trying to find her but couldn’t” Tony said then I went to use his laptop.
I punched in the numbers and started typing on the keyboard and after a while I got a location.
” This is the last place her phone was active before it disconnect ” I said pointing at the location.
” I’ll go check it out” I added.
” What do we do?….. should we come along?” Lara asked.
” Just stay put, okay…… I’ll handle this” I replied.
” Okay….. Okay….. please find her” Lara said.
” Don’t worry, she will be fine” I replied then went out.

I got into my car and drove off, on my way to the place i dialled the deputy chief’s number.
? ” Hello sir?” I said immediately he answered.
? ” Mike, I heard you went out” he said.
? ” Yes sir, It was an emergency” I replied.
? ” Is everything alright?” He asked.
? ” All is well sir, I just need some time off” I replied.
? ” Take all the time you need, Son” he said.
? ” Thank you sir”
? ” Be safe” he replied then ended the call.

I keep driving to the location shown on the GPS and in an hours time I arrived at the location.
It was a big house but I didn’t see anyone around the house even all the windows are closed.
I pressed a button in my car a small safe opened then I bring out my D-gun and came out of the car.
I looked around the place which is silent and only few people could be seen moving around.
I tucked the gun under my shirt and went to the house, I went closer to the window trying to look through it but couldn’t see anything.
I went back to the door and turned the handle and the door open freely and I went inside.
I pulled out my gun and move stealthily into the house checking everywhere one after the other.
I checked all the rooms downstairs but found nothing then proceeded upstairs.
As I was moving upstairs I heard sounds coming from one of the rooms the move to the room.
As I was about to open the door, the door was opened from inside and a lady with a nose mask came out.
” stay where you are or you’ll be down in second” I said pointing the gun at her.
” Where’s the girl?” I asked but she didn’t say anything but something about her is familiar.
” I ASKED YOU A QUESTION” I shouted and tried to remove the nose mask but she grabbed my hand and kick the gun off.
I tried to punch her but she dodged it and all my advances.
She skillfully turned and tried to kick me but I also dodged it and grabbed her hand and turn it backwards.
” Ahhhh” she screamed then I grabbed her by the neck and smack her to the ground with force.
” TELL ME WHERE SHE IS” I shouted angrily then she started laughing which got me confused.
I removed nose mask only to see my naughty sister laughing her heart out.
” Mercy?…..what the he.ll?” I said in annoyance.
” Hello Brother”
