ADAMS BUILDING AND DESIGNS COMPANY LTD
Annabel plopped down on her chair in exhaustion. Adams had ordered her around all day and she was tired. She rested her head on her desk and tried to sleep but his voice stopped her
“Ms. Annabel,didn’t you read the rules before becoming my Secretary?”
“Of course I did” She replied
“Then you should know sleeping in the office during work hours is prohibited”
“I wasn’t sleeping”She retorted
“Oh really?”He rolled his eyes
“Yes. Besides I’m tired. You’ve been ordering me up and down since this morning. I haven’t even had my lunch yet”
“Oh I thought you weren’t hungry” He said wearing an innocent look
“This is ridiculous”
“What?”
She stood up and walked to the door
“Where are you going to?”
“I’m going to get my food”
She opened the door and came face to face with Gideon
He smiled at her
“Good day our Secretary”
“Our Secretary?” Adams asked with raised brows
Gideon was in the mood to look for Adams trouble today so he puts his hand round Annabel’s shoulders and brought her back inside closing the door
Adams expression changed immediately
“Of course she is. You’re my friend and she’s your Secretary so technically,she is working for both of us” He smirked
Annabel kept quiet to see how Adams was going to handle this
“Gideon,Annabel is my Secretary and if you’re desperate for one,there are many workers here you could choose from”
“Nope. It’s Annie I want” He pouted. His hands were still on her shoulders and Adams was vexed at why she didn’t remove it
He clenched his fists and sighed
“Gideon what are you doing here?”
“I actually came to check on Annabel to see whether she’s okay working with you”
“Why?”
“Cause you’re bossy and imposing. And I know you might have drained the last strength in her already”
“You’re right Gideon. He hasn’t given me a break since morning”Annabel finally spoke up
Adams scoffed
“Gideon you have overstayed your welcome. You may go now”
Annabel laughs and Adams shot her a glare while she stuck out her tongue for him
Gideon laughed at their childish act and brought his hands down
“Lemme go pick Lisa from school” He said
“You mean your girlfriend?”Adams teased
“Girlfriend?” Annabel asked
“No. I haven’t asked her out yet” Gideon blushed
“You better do that before another guy takes her away from you” Adams said
“They won’t dare” He said and hurried out
Annabel glared at him before leaving for the cafeteria

THE CAFETERIA
Annabel walked over to a table and sat down while Alexa and Stephanie came to sit with her.
“Hey Annie,haven’t seen you all morning” Stephanie said smiling
“Yeah. What’s up”Alexa asked
“I was busy booking an appointment for tomorrow”
“Wow” Stephanie exclaimed
“What’s the appointment about?”Alexa asked
“It’s just a meeting with some board members that’s all”
“OMG Annie,you have the best job in the world” Stephanie said
“Trust me girls. It ain’t easy” Annabel said
“What would you like to have?” A waiter asked
“Spaghetti and sauce with orange juice would be fine” Annabel said with a sweet smile. He bowed and left to bring the order
Annabel watched him as he goes and sighed
“I miss being a waitress”
“Babe you should thank God for the one you have now. Do you know how many people out there are dying to be the CEO’s Secretary” Stephanie said and Alexa added
“Stephanie is right. Imagine sitting in same office with a demi-god”
“Oh please” She scoffed and they laugh
The waiter returned later with nothing
“Dude,where’s the food I ordered for?” Annabel asked impatiently
“I’m sorry ma’am but Mr.Adams said I should bring it to his office and that you should come eat it there” He replied
“Is this some kind of joke?” She asked
“No ma’am”
“Okay you may go”
After he left
“Awwwn” Stephanie and Alexa looked at her in admiration
“You girls are cray cray” She stood up and left for the office

THE OFFICE
Annabel walked in and saw her food on her desk
She looked at Adams
“Seriously?”
“What is it again you troublesome woman?” He dropped the files he was holding and folds his hands
“Me? Troublesome? Woman?”
“That’s what you are”
“I am not troublesome Adams”
“Tsk…tsk…tsk…it’s Mr.Adams woman”
“Okay Mr. Adams,why is my food here? Am I not supposed to be eating in the cafeteria?” She asked trying hard to control her anger
“I asked the waiter to bring it here”
“Why?”
“You have no right to question my decisions Annabel”
“And you have no right to interfere in my business. It’s my food and not yours” She countered
“I’m your boss and you don’t talk back at me”
“I’m not talking back at you. I’m only making my voice heard. Because you’re the boss doesn’t mean you’re always right”
He stood up and walked up to her
She moved back in fear and he kept following her till her back hit the wall
She tried moving to the left and he blocked it with his right hand. She tried moving to the right and he blocked her again trapping her.
Annabel felt like her heart would burst cause it was thumping very fast against her chest.
Adams was trying hard to control himself from kssing her right now
He saw her fear and smiled
“I’m sorry Adams…um…I mean Mr. Adams,I won’t disrespect you again”She pleaded
“Apology not accepted” He said brushing a strand of her hair behind her ears
“Please I’m sorry” She said almost in tears
He bent his head like he wanted to kss her and she gasped and closed her eyes
She expected the worst but nothing came
She opened her eyes slowly and Adams burst into laughter
He returned to his chair still laughing
“You should see your face right now” He said laughing
Annabel felt like crying
“You…” That was all she was able to say as Adams kept laughing
