Valerie released a sigh, trying to understand what she heard.
Her room door suddenly opened and Derek walked in.
“You’re still up?” He asked and Valerie sighed.
“Can’t sleep yet.” Valerie replied with a sigh.
“What happened??” Derek asked sitting on her bed, and Valerie sighed before turning to face him, then she sat on the couch beside the window.
“There’s something more to Evie and Jeffrey that we don’t know.” Valerie said and Derek raised a brow.
“By that you mean??” He asked and Valerie narrated to him what she saw and heard.
Derek sighed when she was done with her narration.
“So you’re trying to say, Evie is controlling Jeffrey?” Derek asked.
“It looks like it, I noticed some weird eye gestures as well… But it’s cringe, how can she control him?
Theo doesn’t look like someone who can be easily ordered around.” She said.
“You never can tell. Maybe Evie is blackmailing him with something coz no matured man will let a lady boss him around, talk more his wife.” Derek said.
“I’m curious to know.” Valerie said.

JEFFREY’S MANSION
Jeffrey could be seen seated at the poolside, with a bottle of vodka in his hand.
He was obviously drinking from it as he thought in tears. His life was just filled up with regrets and meeting Evie was one of the biggest regrets.
He regretted not listening to his mom that very day. Had he listened to her, he wouldn’t have met with Evie that very day and he wouldn’t have found himself in thks big mess which was slowly eating him up.
He was already depressed, and most times, he felt like attempting sucíde but he couldn’t.
No matter how much he wished to end everything, he just finds himself still walking through.
He was tired, and frustrated for real.
He wiped the tears which streamed down his cheeks with a thumb as he stared at the water.
He gulped down a shot and dropped the bottle beside him, then he jumped into the pool.
Rather than swimming, he began going down, below the water and sat there.
At least he could get his sanity there.

ZHANG’S MANSION
June placed a soft knock on her parents door. It was very early in the morning and they’re probably still sleeping right now. They got back late last night from their trip.
“Dad.” She muttered, knocking again but no response, so she slowly opened his room door.
Just as she expected, they were still sleeping. She walked to their bed and sat beside her dad.
“Dad.” She whispered, tapping him lightly.
“Dad wake up. I wanna talk to you.” She said but Giovanni only shook her off, grumbling in his sleep.
“Dad…”
“What is it June?” He said in his sleep
“I wanna talk to you.” She told him.
“What is it? Can’t we talk about it in the morning?” She asked and June shook her head.
“No, dad.”
“C’mon June. I promise to do want you want tomorrow. Just let me sleep, please…”
