Chapter 18
Arabella found herself listening in on the conversation of a lady which was in one of the toilet.
“Of course it is! Once your heart starts thumping crazily for a guy in particular then certainly you are inlove with him. So am definitely in love with him”
On hearing that Arabella almost collapse. She is inlove with Gerald.
It can’t be that. The lady might just be making a mistake. She thought as she opened the tap to wash her hands.
“I can’t be inlove with. I can’t be inlove with him” She muttered as she walk out of the rest room.
She got back to the studio where she was invited by the staff to go out for lunch together but she refused.
“Where is Mr Dalton?”She asked Matthew
“He went back to his office. Think he has a headache or stuff”Matthew replied.
“I will go and say my goodbye then”She told him as she left the studio heading to Gerald office.
Getting to his office. She didn’t see the secretary there and so she went into his office after knocking.
Gerald wasn’t at his seat but was laying on a chair sleeping.
Not wanting to disrupt his sleep. She turned to leave but something propelled her back to him.
“Mr Dalton”She called and when there was no answer she took hold of his hand only to see that it was burning.
Putting her bag down, she moved towards him. Putting a hand on his forehead only to feel it’s hotness.
“Your burning up”She muttered as she spotted a jug of water and a white towelling clothe.
She did the necessary and went back to him to put the wet towel on his head.
“I brought the medicine sir!” His secretary said as she ran into the room.
“Why are you here?”The secretary asked on seeing her.
“I came to say my goodbye and then I saw him like this. I couldn’t ignore”She said.
“Well am glad that someone who knows about fever is here. I bought the necessary drugs”she said giving the meds to Arabella.
Together they gave Gerald the drug and while he slept and his secretary went back to her post. She sat with him. Changing the towel and checking his temperature.
She was dozing off when she opened her eyes to see that it was late.
Gerald was still asleep and instead of leaving like she was meant to. She found herself moving towards him.
Even when he is sick. He is very handsome. She thought as she felt her heart beating ¢razily again.
She must really be inlove with him. She had been worried about getting back to his mansion a bit early but she had forgotten when she saw that he was ill.
If she’s willing to do something like this for someone then definitely that person must be someone very special to her.
Just like Gerald is. She is happy to know that she is inlove with him and also sad and that’s all due to her lies. How would be react when he finds out the truth.
“I just hope you don’t hate me too much when you find out the truth” she began softly.
“Knowing how much you hate lies. You might never get to forgive me and I will be fine with that as long as you don’t hate me.
I wonder why am saying this when you are asleep. I should be telling you when you are up but I don’t have the courage to do so due to the fear of losing it all”
“Why did I to fall for you and make things worse for myself?” She added as she kept starring at him.
The ringing of her phone got her moving away to pick the call.
“We just finished the shoot”She whispered gently.
“No one caught on anything Nina. I already told you that it will be hard for people to recognise me.
I will be heading back to Gerald’s mansion now. Okay bye then” She ended the call and went back to get her bag so she could leave.
Taking one last look at Gerald. She pushed back a strand of his hair that had fallen and turned to leave only for her hand to be seized In a tight lock.
Turning back to him, she saw him starring at her.
“What….did you just say?”
