~~ THE CHEN’S BUILDING**
Jemma sat at the balcony having few cans of beer when her phone started a ringing.
Why’s Rowan calling? Jemma questioned in her head before taking the call.
“Yes Rowan” Jemma answered.
“Jemma you need to rush down here. Eli just got rushed to Hanggu hospital, he got into an accident” Rowan said anxiously over the phone and Jemma stood up in shock from where she was seating.
“What did you just say?” Jemma asked breathlessly.
“Eli got into an accident” Rowan repeated and Jemma hung up immediately.
“Eli nothing should happen to you” Jemma uttered nervously as she ran to her room and picked up her car keys.
“Josie let’s go to the hospital” Jemma uttered in tears then ran out to the parking lot.
Josie ran along with her.
“Why are we going to the hospital? What happened?” Josie asked curiously and Jemma pressed the start button on the car keys.
“I will explain everything to you when we get there. Get into the car” Jemma said sharply then they got in and drove off to the hospital.

HANGGU SPECIAL HOSPITAL **
Jemma and Josie ran into the hospital.
“Please what room number was Eli Chen taken to” Jemma asked the receptionist nurses in tears and Rowan called her from behind.
“Jemma, this way” Rowan said and Jemma ran to him.
“Mum what’s Eli doing at the hospital? What happened to my brother?” Josie cut in tears and Jemma ruffled her hair frustratedly.
“Rowan please I need to speak with the doctor in charge of Eli’s case” Jemma said sobbing.
“They’re still operating on Eli but he will be out soon. Let’s pray it goes well” Rowan said nervously.
“Mum, what happened to Eli? Uncle what happened to my brother? Why’s no one telling me anything?” Josie yelled sobbing and Rowan grabbed her into his embrace.
“Eli drove in a drunken state. Your brother almost killed himself” Rowan said slowly and Josie broke the hug.
“Bro has never done anything like this before. He’s very strict with rules and regulations, he will never drink and drive” Josie uttered in tears.
“But that’s exactly what he did. Eli got drunk and drive at the same time, what a nuisance!” Jemma complained wiping off her tears and Josie glared at her.
“And whose fault is it that we’re all going through this. Bro wouldn’t have gotten himself so drunk if you didn’t come up with such a decision for our family” Josie half yelled.
“You and your brother should stop using me as an excuse to do stupid things and go against the rules. You’re both behaving like kids, you’re no longer kids” Jemma said strictly.
“If anything happens to my brother, you’re to be blamed for it. You will only get satisfied if one of us leaves this world” Josie said angrily and Jemma slapped her.
“Don’t you dare!” Jemma said as hot tears roll down her cheeks and Josie ran away sobbing.
“How could she say something like that to her own mother” Jemma sobbed and Rowan pat her back.
“They’re going through a lot themselves so I will advise you to be patient with them. The both of you are arguing out here when Eli is in there fighting for his life, that’s not right” Rowan said calmly and Jemma sat down on a bench as tears roll down her cheeks uncontrollably and just then Fanny and Linda ran to them.
“Sis” Fanny called out anxiously and Jemma stood up and hugged her.
“Aunt where’s Josie?” Linda asked curiously.
“She went that way” Jemma directed and Linda ran to that direction calling out to Josie.
“Sis don’t worry, everything’s going to be fine. Eli is a fighter and he still has a lot of dreams to fulfill” Fanny comforted holding back her tears.
Caleb ran into the hospital trying to get reach of Jemma through the phone but she wasn’t picking up.
Fanny sighted him from where they were standing.
“Who called him here?” Fanny asked seriously as she glared at Rowan.
“Don’t be like this Fanny. Eli is his son as well, he has the right to know of his son’s condition” Rowan said calmly.
“Son my foot!” Fanny hissed then walked to Caleb.
“Hope she doesn’t cause a scene” Rowan said anxiously and Jemma smirked.
“You should be expecting that” Jemma sniffed.
“We’re at the hospital, we shouldn’t let her do that here” Rowan cut in.
“Go ahead, I’m not stopping her. I will wait here till the doctor shows up, Caleb is the least of my worries right now” Jemma shrugged with her eyes fixed at the emergency room.
“Fanny where’s my son?” Caleb asked worriedly and Fanny clenched her fist.
“You still have the nerve to show your face here. Caleb you’re the reason for everything. If anything happens to my nephew I would never forgive you, you’re such an excuse of a man. You shouldn’t have shown your face here, don’t you have any shame. You’ve wronged your whole family, it’s only right you give them some time to move on. Stop worsening issues” Fanny fired.
“Fanny get a hold of yourself” Caleb said seriously and Fanny laughed.
“Who the hell are you to tell me that? You’re lucky we’re at the hospital. If I had seen you outside, I would have pvnched you hard across the face. Have some shame and just leave” Fanny said seriously and Rowan held her arm.
“Don’t be like this Fanny. Let it go for now. I’m pretty sure the kids wants their dad around” Rowan whispered to her and she glared at him then walked away.

Linda sat next to Josie on the grass at the hospital’s resting spots.
“Josie are you okay?” Linda asked slowly.
“I’m crying an ocean right now because my brother is in there fighting for his life and my parents are planning on getting a divorce, am I supposed to be okay” Josie yelled and Linda shrunk.
“Okay fine, I get it. You don’t have to be so upset. I’m here for you Josie, Eli is my bro as well so of course I’m worried too but let’s hope for the best Josie. He will be fine” Linda comforted patting her back.
“Mum’s at fault for all this. Bro only got drunk because of mum’s decisions. How could she come with such a decision? She didn’t even think about us for a second, I still don’t see the reason why she wants to divorce Dad” Josie said sobbing.
“Come on Josie, you’re sounding like a baby. I think you should look at it from your mum’s perspective, she wouldn’t have come to this decision if your Dad didn’t do nothing. You know how caring Aunt can be. She doesn’t make reckless decisions. Josie you need to calm down and think straight because you’re not right now” Linda advised and Josie shoved her off then stood up.
“You know nothing Linda so don’t act like you understand. Nobody understands me” Josie yelled with tears rolling down her cheeks then she walked away.
Linda followed her from behind. Josie stopped walking.
“I need some time alone Linda so I think you should go back inside” Josie uttered slowly.
“Dad just texted me. Eli’s surgery is over” Linda announced and Josie turned around sharply.
“What did you just say?” Josie asked curiously.
“Eli has been transferred to a room” Linda said and Josie ran back into the hospital.
Jemma was speaking with the doctor already.
“Doctor how’s my brother?” Josie asked curiously as she caught her breath.
“Josie, your mum is still speaking with the doctor” Caleb cut in and Josie kept mute.
“Doc what happened to my son exactly? Are the injuries severe?” Jemma asked anxiously.
“He had a glass cut on his forehead with bruises on his face and he broke one of his arms. Luckily the driver who hit him, didn’t hit his car hard. Things would have turned ugly. All his injuries have been taken care of but he’s still unconscious because of the shock, he will be up in no time. Doctor Rowan come with me please, you have to take a look at a report” The doctor said and left with Rowan.
“Thank goodness nothing big happened to him” Caleb said with a sigh of relief and Jemma glared at him.
“How’s breaking his arm not big. Do you know how precious those hands are? You don’t have to fake your worries” Jemma said still sobbing as she head to Eli’s room.
She went into his room and Josie followed, the rest waited outside the room. Eli was still lying unconscious on the bed. Tears roll down Jemma’s and Josie’s cheeks.
Josie ran into her mum’s embrace unknowingly as she felt so hurt.
“Everything will okay. He’s out of danger now” Jemma sniffed patting Josie’s hair but she broke the hug, feeling awkward.
Jemma held Eli’s other hand placing it on her cheeks.
“I’m going through a lot already. Was it really necessary to torture me this way? I’m still your one and only mother” Jemma whispered and Josie sat next to Eli as she placed her head on his chest.
“I can’t breathe” Eli uttered slowly before opening his eyes and they both stood up in surprise.
“Bro!” Josie called out excitedly and everyone outside came into the room.
“Josie I think your head is heavily than your body” Eli joked and everyone laughed.
“I’m so glad you’re okay bro” Josie said excitedly and Jemma frowned.
“Everyone go outside. I need to have a word with Eli alone” Jemma said strictly and everyone left but Josie stayed back.
“Josie you as well” Jemma reminded and she went out.
“If you’re planning on making me feel worse than I feel right now, just drop it. I don’t want to listen” Eli said rudely and Jemma hit him hard on his thighs.
“Ouch what’s that for?” Eli winced arrogantly.
“I did that so you can get back your senses. Eli you’re not a kid anymore so stop behaving like one. Drinking and driving, is that what you were taught in driving school? If you think you can use my divorce with your dad as an excuse to go against the rules then you’re wrong. You’ve lived with me all your life and you know exactly how I stick to my decisions. If you think getting into an accident is the best way of getting me to change my mind then you’re wrong. I’m not changing my mind, your dad and I are getting a divorce and there’s nothing you can do about it so put yourself together” Jemma said seriously.
“I’m in a hospital bed, you should at least respect the fact that I’m a patient. Mum I might sue you for mental abuse” Eli said coldly.
“Don’t you dare threaten me Eli. You just made things even worse, I’m sending you to the states to live with your grandparents so start getting ready” Jemma said seriously then head to the door.
“What! There’s no way, I’m leaving Seoul. I’m declining that decision mum. You can’t keep on controlling my life just like you did with Dad. You had an affair and now you’re getting a divorce so you can be with your lover. What kind of a woman are you? I wish I never had a mother like you” Eli yelled angrily and hot tears roll down Jemma’s cheeks.
