CHAPTER 20.
Immediately Eli walked out of the room, Caleb realized he just hurt Eli by raising his hand on him.
“What did I just do!” Caleb uttered remorsefully as he looked at the palm he used in sI.apping Eli.
“Eli my boy, I’m sorry son” Caleb said as he ran after Eli.
“Eli I’m sorry, can you forgive your dad. I’ve never raised my hands on you, I’m so sorry Dad” Caleb apologized running after Eli.
“Stop following me” Eli yelled and Caleb caught up with him, holding his hand.
“Let go of me!” Eli shoved him off.
“Eli please give me a chance to speak up for myself, I should explain myself. I deserve that at least” Caleb said calmly.
Eli scrolled into the photos that was sent to him.
“This explained it all so you don’t have to explain anything. I don’t want to hear anything from you. What were you thinking Dad that I will sit and listen to you? Have you ever listened to me? Dad you did such a shameless thing, I can’t believe you’re my father. My mum is literally one of the most beautiful women on earth. How could you cheat on her? You took your vows and promise for granted. I will never forgive you got this” Eli said bitterly.
“Eli you’re taking things too serious. It’s normal for couples to fall out of love, that’s exactly what happened between your mother and I”
“Why did you get married to my mum in the first place if you were going to end up stop loving her. Dad you didn’t fall out of love, you fell in love with another woman. You cheated on my mum, you betrayed her and you don’t deserve a woman like her. You don’t deserve to be in our lives either. I would really appreciate it if the divorce gets finalized as soon as possible so you can get out of our house and lives” Eli said furiously then walked away.
“And again, we don’t need a cheat in our lives” Eli added as he stopped walking before going away.
Caleb turned around and Jemma was standing behind him.
“Is this the kind of life you planned for we all. I know you never thought of me when you pushed through with what you did but you could have at least thought of Eli and Josie” Jemma said calmly.
“Are you happy now that Eli is against me? You sent him the photos, what for?” Caleb asked seriously and Jemma laughed.
“I didn’t do it but so what? You got what you deserve. I was also spoken harshly to for choosing to get a divorce. You should at least bear it, I’m pretty sure Olivia needs you to stand by her no matter what. The divorce papers will be ready tomorrow so friendly advice, go pack up your things now” Jemma said coldly then walked away.
I want to get a divorce but I don’t want to lose my children. They’re my only family and I won’t let them turn their backs on me. Josie isn’t an adult yet, she still needs me. I’m hoping Eli doesn’t say anything to her yet. Caleb uttered in his head then dialed Eli’s number but he didn’t pick up.
“Eli I’m begging you, please don’t say anything to Josie yet. She will be heartbroken if you tell her about it ” Caleb dropped a voice note.

HANKUK UNIVERSITY (HUFS) ***
Ruby waited at the lobby of their department. Patiently waiting for Eli to show up.
She stood there. Staring at each and every student coming out of the lecture halls.
“What’s going on? He doesn’t miss classes. But why’s he not here?” Ruby questioned worriedly.
I should drop by the club hall. He might be there. Ruby said in her head then head out to their hall.
Ruby got to the drama club hall but she met with just few members there. They were all carrying gloomy faces.
“What’s wrong guys? The atmosphere here is very sad. Did something happen?” Ruby asked curiously.
“Few hours ago, the president called us. He got into an accident so he couldn’t make it to school today” Vicky said worriedly and Ruby’s eyes went wide open.
“Into an accident? Was it severe? Is he fine now? How did it happen?” Ruby threw in many questions and everyone stared at her in surprise.
“It’s very strange that you care about him this much. I thought you didn’t like the president?” One of the members asked and Ruby cleared her throat awkwardly.
“He got into an accident last night on his way going home. Although full details wasn’t given to us but he’s fine now. He called us himself so he’s definitely out of danger now” Vicky said and just then Zed came in.
“Hello everyone, how’s it going?” Zed asked jovially and Ruby ran to him.
“Come with me” Ruby said sharply and dragged Zed with her outside.
“What’s wrong Ruby?” Zed asked curiously.
“I should be asking you that. How’s Eli doing? What hospital was he admitted?” Ruby threw in and Zed smiled.
“Slowly.. slowly Ruby. Why are you curious about that?”
“I’m just curious. I’m his assistant after all, I deserve to know that don’t I?” Ruby uttered and Zed nodded.
“JJA. Now I remember, Eli told me to relate this message to you. He said you have to assist with the decorations of the drama hall. He said you have to be everyone’s assistant. You can’t be reluctant because he’s not here” Zed informed and Ruby rolled her eyes.
“I should be happy he’s at the hospital because it might be my day off before he comes back but he made sure that would be impossible. I shouldn’t have worried about him not even for a minute” Ruby shrugged.
“I think you should get to work now so you can go home early”
“What about you? Aren’t you working with us?” Ruby asked and Zed smiled.
“I’m the acting president so there’s no way I would do such hectic stuff”
“Are rich kids always this lazy or you’re pretending to be one? Since you will not be working with us, I won’t do a thing either until I hear it directly from the president” Ruby said sarcastically looking away and Zed chuckled.
“Ruby you can’t be unfair to me. You’re a rich kid too, you should know where I’m coming from. It’s not easy running about as the president so give me some slack” Zed said slowly.
“I’m not asking for much, I just want to speak with the president personally”
“If you want to speak with him so badly, you can just do that with your phone” Zed shrugged.
“Are you calling him or not?” Ruby asked faking a serious face.
“Okay fine. I know you’re worried about him and that’s why you want to speak with him, that’s quite understandable” Zed said sarcastically and dialed Eli’s number.
“I’m not worried about him. Infact I don’t want to speak with him anymore” Ruby cut in sharply.
“Oops! He took the call already” Zed smirked showing her his phone and Ruby bite her lower lips frustratedly.
“Zed why are you calling me? You visited hours ago. What’s this call for now?” Eli groaned.
“Don’t vent your frustrations on me. It’s all Ruby’s fault, she insisted I call you”
“Why?”
“I have no idea, you should find out yourself” Zed said and passed the phone to Ruby.
She placed the phone on her ears sluggishly.
“What do you want?” Eli asked rudely over the phone.
“You’re still so rude. You haven’t even apologized for what you did to me yesterday and you’re still giving me more attitude” Ruby complained.
“I don’t remember doing anything to you and is it an habit of girls to always complain. If you told Zed to call because of this then I’m hanging up. I need to rest” Eli said coldly.
“Don’t hang up yet. About the decor, shouldn’t you be here when that’s going on. I’m pretty sure you might have some designs in your mind”
“I gave the sample of my own opinion to Zed. I’m pretty sure the rest of the members have seen it already. If that’s what you called for, you should have just called Zed. Anyways don’t forget, you haven’t proven yourself yet so work with all your might. I’m watching you even from the hospital and don’t be worried about me, I’m fine now” Eli said calmly.
“Who said I …was worried about you? In your dreams” Ruby stuttered and Eli chuckled.
“Whatever! I have to go now. Bye” Eli said and hung up.
“Here” Ruby said handing Zed’s phone back to him.
“Are you satisfied now so can we go back inside. I still need to supervise your work”
“Why?”
“What do you mean by why? Of course I have to report everything to Eli” Zed said sarcastically then went back inside the hall.
*** WESTON’S BUILDING ~~~
It’s evening already. Ruby’s back home, she was done having dinner with her Dad. They both sat down at the sitting room.
“Ruby how’s the drama club?” Weston asked with his eyes on his phone.
“Not bad dad. I actually love it in my new school. All thanks to someone, I’ve become so extra busy in school” Ruby smirked.
“Do you want me to intervene? I noticed you haven’t been coming back home early? Your new college is really stealing away my time with you Sweetie” Weston pouted and Ruby laughed.
“I don’t actually have late classes. I only stay late in school because of the club. If Eli hadn’t made me his JJA, things would have been easier for me in HUFS” Ruby said slowly.
“Eli? JJA? Who’s Eli sweetie and what’s JJA?” Weston asked curiously as he kept his phone aside.
“Eli’s the new president of the club and JJA means junior junior assistant” Ruby said laughing and Weston joined her.
“Isn’t that a bit of a low rank”
“It is Dad. He said he has so many assistants so making me the JJA is the only position left for me. He might speak rudely or arrogantly but he’s quite a good guy, he’s caring as well. He notices every detail of someone” Ruby said grinning from ear to ear.

“You sound like you’re interested in this guy. What’s his name again?” Weston teased and Ruby blushed.
“Eli Cho… Emm.. I don’t think that’s it” Ruby tried hard to recall.

Jemma’s son is in same school with Ruby. But it’s not possible that he’s in same club with Ruby. But what if he is? Ruby can’t fall for him? That shouldn’t happen? Weston uttered in his head anxiously staring at Ruby.
