JEMMA’S BEDROOM
Jemma made use of the tester and she waited patiently for it to read out result. Jemma exhaled nervously before taking a look at it.
“Pheww!” Jemma exhaled deeply as a smile appeared on her lips.
“What was I even thinking? That was the last thing that should have run through my mind. Getting pregnant at this time of my life is really not advisable” Jemma whispered with a smile.
Let’s get ready to leave for the office. I’ve got lots on my plate right now. Jemma reminded as she walked to her wardrobe to pick a dress for the day.
“Mum, I’m done eating. I will head to school now, Mum you’re fine right?” Josie asked at the door.
“I’m fine sweetie. I just had an indigestion, that’s all but I will be fine” Jemma assured.
“Alright mum, take care. I will take my leave now. Have a lovely day at work Mum” Josie smiled before leaving.
Eli knocked on Jemma’s door before coming in.
“Eli you haven’t left for college yet?” Jemma asked politely.
“I’m about to. Mum, you’re back to being single and free again so don’t let anyone at the office make you feel low. I’m pretty sure they will be lots of rumors going around already but trust me Mum, Josie and I got your back so be confident about your decision mum. You did something, many women wouldn’t dare do because of the society we’re in” Eli said calmly and Jemma smiled.
She walked to him and gave him a hug.
“You’re all grown up Eli. Thank you so much for your words son, you have no idea how comforting those words are” Jemma said with a smile as she broke the hug.
“I’m off to school mum but seems like I will be taking the taxi” Eli said in a low tone.
“Your cast have been removed and I got your car repaired so why are you going to school with a taxi?” Jemma asked.
“Mum, you’re too kind and that’s why you spoiled Josie and I too much. I know I did something bad, it was my fault for driving drunk so I need to at least get punished for that. I need to restore your confidence in me Mum so I will be going with the taxi till I’m done with this semester” Eli announced and Jemma laughed.
“You don’t have to go that far. I’m spoiling you and Josie because that was how my folks spoiled me as well and for you to go that far in punishing yourself, take it easy. There’s nothing like going to school with your own ride. I did way worse than you when I was in college, your grandparents always grounded me for my nonchalant behaviours” Jemma said giggling and Eli laughed.
“That sounds so like you Mum. Now I know who I took it from. Anyways, I’m punishing myself because I deserve it mum. I made you all cry and I hate myself for doing that. I will go ahead mum” Eli said and Jemma hugged him again.
“I’m really happy things are back to normal between us. I thought I would never be able to settle the rift between us”
“I was only been stubborn mum. I’ve always considered you my role model and you have no idea. I’m leaving, bye” Eli said and left the room.
It would have been perfect if Caleb and I were faithful to each other to the very end. Jemma uttered in her mind and sighed tiredly.

HANKUK UNIVERSITY (HUFS)
12:10 pm…
Eli and Zed are at the cafeteria having lunch.
“Eli how’s your mum doing? This divorce must have been a big blow on her part” Zed said slowly.
“She’s holding on pretty well. What’s the use of being in a relationship you’re not happy about. It’s high time, my mum looked for her own happiness. She has sacrificed so much for our family and that made her restrict herself from doing so many things” Eli sighed.
“You’re being very reasonable this afternoon. Your folk’s divorce really did left an impact on you” Zed teased.
“Oh shut it!” Eli smiled.
“I noticed you and Ruby are becoming close. Are you developing feelings for her?” Zed asked curiously and Eli glared at him.
“Come on Zed, that question is so lame. Why would you even think such? She has become one of my friends but it’s nothing more than that” Eli said defiantly and just then Ruby and Cindy walked to their table.
“Congratulations Eli, your cast have been removed” Ruby said with a smile placing her food tray on the table and Cindy sat down already.
“We never said you can join us on our table” Zed cut in sharply, referring to Cindy and she brushed her hair backwards in a slow motion and Zed scoffed.
“I removed it early hours of today. Join us” Eli said chewing on his food gently and Zed looked at him.
“Thank you” Ruby said with a half smile before sitting down.
“Zed, why haven’t you unblocked my number yet. Why are you acting so petty Zed?” Cindy asked sarcastically.
“What! Petty? Did you just call me petty?” Zed asked getting upset and Cindy nodded.
“I don’t remember been in any sort of relationship with you so why should I have your number on my phone? Cindy, you’re being clingy and I really hate clingy girls” Zed whined and Cindy stood up and gave him a light kiss on his cheeks.
Zed froze that instant and Eli’s eyes with Ruby’s went wide open.
“Cousin!” Ruby called out still catching her breath.
“What? I’m finding it hard to move on so what’s wrong with that. This is a free world and I won’t hide my true feelings. Zed I still have feelings for you” Cindy confessed and Eli’s jaw dropped.
“Cindy what’s wrong with you? Confessing to me in front of my friend. Have some… dignity please” Zed stuttered nervously looking away.
“Wow Cindy, you’re amazing. I love your bravery, I haven’t met any girl like you in ages” Eli complimented giving her a thumbs up.
“Eli please can you help me out with Zed” Cindy pouted and Eli giggled awkwardly.
“I really don’t get involved in other people’s relationship but I’m pretty sure Zed will make the right decision. Right Zed” Eli said staring at Zed.
“Cindy there’s really no use for all of this. We ended things like a year ago and I’ve moved on. You agreed to our breakup so why are you acting this way? I’m going to get an indigestion because of you” Zed complained.
“Cousin, I thought you’ve moved on?” Ruby asked curiously.
“I thought I had. I traveled around the world just to get over it but none of my trips helped. I can’t believe Zed you threw away three years of our relationship like that? Did you ever love me in the first place?” Cindy asked almost in tears.
“I loved you Cindy but that’s all in the past. Being clingy like this won’t help you so drop it. I’m not getting back with you” Zed said coldly and Cindy boost into a dramatic tears.
Everyone began to watch them.
“Zed do something, you made her cry. How can you reject a lady so heartlessly in public” Eli protested and Zed bite his lower lips frustratedly before standing up.
“I’m sorry Cindy. What’s wrong with you today? Why are making things hard for me?” Zed whined as he wiped off her tears and Eli stood up silently so he wouldn’t grab their attention.
Eli carried his bag and tray then left the table.
“Eli wait for me” Zed shouted and Eli ran away but Ruby followed him.
“Eli why were you running?” Ruby asked catching her breath.
“It was getting to dramatic in there. Such dramas aren’t for me but why did you follow me?” Eli asked staring at her.
“I need your help with something and that why I followed you. I might not be able to catch you up later so that’s why I’m doing so now”
“You need my help? With what exactly? Because I don’t think I’m in any position to help you with anything” Eli cut in.
“I’m having some issues understanding some topics on international finance” Ruby said.
“You should be familiar with that course, don’t you think so. You started your college over there and I’m pretty sure, you probably went to some business highschool over there in the states” Eli said sarcastically.
“Come on Eli… I studied there doesn’t mean i know everything and I only changed department recently so I’m still adjusting to the new department. Please can you tutor me?” Ruby pleased and Eli slide his hands into his pocket.
“What do I get in return for tutoring you? It doesn’t look like any profitable deal for me and I’m not the only business student you know so…”
“Eli do you have to go into that much details. How about I get you dinner everyday” Ruby said with a smile.
“Does that mean, you want to spend every evening with me? You and your cousin sure do know how to keep a guy in a tight spot” Eli scoffed.
“Why are you so full of yourself?” Ruby murmured.
“You can say it out loud. You should be confident about your words” Eli said glaring at her.
A guy brushed Ruby’s shoulders hard, making her lose balance but Eli wrapped his arm around her back for support.
“Are you okay?” Eli asked calmly and Ruby nodded rubbing her shoulders because it hurts.
Eli walked to the guys and pushed him from behind.
“What the h’ll do you think you’re doing?” The guy shouted and Eli glared at him.
“You should apologize to her for what you did. You brushed her shoulders intentionally” Eli said coldly.
“Who do you think you are? Her bodyguard or what? If I don’t apologize to her what will you do?” The guy said arrogantly and Eli clinched his fist angrily.
Ruby walked to him and held his arm.
“Let’s go Eli” Ruby said avoiding trouble but her eyes met with the guy and fear gripped her.
How the h’ll did this mon..ster end up in HUFS? Ruby questioned in fear as her hands trembled.
Eli noticed her trembling hands and he gave the guy a dirty sI.ap across the face.
“She’s my girlfriend so what? I dare you lay your hands on me” Eli threatened seriously and the guy held himself back as he tightened his teeth angrily.
