Cindy ran to where Ruby and Eli was sitting at the resting area in their department.
“Ruby! Ruby!” Cindy called out trying to catch her breath as she panted.
“Cindy is everything ok?” Ruby asked curiously.
“Have a look at this” Cindy uttered as she gave Ruby her phone.
Ruby watched the video of Weston’s accident and tears roll down her cheeks.
“What happened to Dad?” Ruby asked in tears.
“He’s at the hospital right now”
“Let’s hurry up” Ruby said anxiously still in tears as she lost her balance but Eli held her hand for support.
“Let me drive you to the hospital. I don’t think it’s safe for you to drive” Eli said referring to Cindy who wasn’t looking any better.
Eli drove them down to the hospital Weston was admitted.
Ruby rushed to receptionist nurses and got information on Weston’s room.
“Dad!” Ruby called out in tears as she ran into Weston’s room.
Jemma was feeding Weston some apples.
Everyone stood still in shock not getting what was happening.
“Mrs Jemma” Ruby called out then looked at her Dad.
“Mum!” Eli called as well as he came into the room.
“Eli, Ruby what are you guys doing here?” Jemma asked a bit confused.
“Mum what are you doing here? Mr Hong is Ruby’s Dad but how come you’re here?” Eli asked curiously and Jemma looked at Weston.
“Ruby’s Dad?” Jemma gasped.
“Mum come with me” Eli said and took Jemma with him out of the room.
“Dad, what earth happened to you? And why’s Mrs Jemma here with you?” Ruby threw in and Weston exhaled sharply.
“Come sit next to me” Weston said and Ruby slowly walked to his bed.
“Uncle, how are you feeling now?” Cindy asked as she barged into the room lastly.
“Oh, Cindy you’re here as well. I’m fine now, I only had a little bruise on my head but I’m fine now” Weston said with a smile and Ruby boost into tears.
“Dad how can you call that just a bruise, you passed out in front of the media. Do you have any idea how terrified I felt when I watched that video.
Dad you can’t leave me alone, I’ve lost mum I can’t lose you as well” Ruby sobbed heavily and Weston hugged her, patting her back.
“I’m sorry, I made you worry. I’m sorry” Weston said softly and Ruby broke the hug.
“Dad what were you thinking when you ran into the collapsing building?” Ruby nagged.
“I’m sorry”
“And again, Dad what’s Mrs Jemma doing here? Do you know each other?” Ruby asked slowly.
“Ruby about that, I was waiting for the right time to tell you about it” Weston said as he swallowed hard.
“Tell me what Dad?” Ruby asked a bit confused.
“My relationship with Jemma. Jemma’s my girlfriend, Ruby” Weston announced with a half smile and Ruby looked at Cindy as she ran short of words.
“Girlfriend?” Ruby repeated and Weston nodded.
“When did all this happen Dad? How could you keep something so crucial away from me? Dad you didn’t even bother asking for my consent before agreeing to go out with her” Ruby said in tears.
“I’m sorry Ruby, I was only waiting for the right time to tell you. I had no idea you would take it the wrong way and you’ve always supported me in every decision I made so why are you making a big deal out of this” Weston said and Ruby stood up.
“It took you long enough to share this information with me when everything is screwed up already”
“Ruby, what’s screwed up? What are you even saying? It hasn’t been long Jemma and I got into this relationship so I don’t think it’s right for you to act this way” Weston said with a blank expression.
“Dad, you knew Eli is Mrs Jemma’s son and that’s why you asked us those questions the other night right?” Ruby asked with hot tears rolling down her cheeks.
“….I knew and that’s why I tried to clarify things and I did”
“Dad that act of yours was selfish. I actually lied Dad because I have feelings for Eli. I lied” Ruby yelled then ran out of the room.
“Ruby!” Weston called out as he tried to get off his bed but his head hurts making him seat back on the bed.
“Don’t worry uncle, I will go speak with her. Have some rest uncle” Cindy said and ran after Ruby.
Weston winced then held his head with his palm with his eyes fixed on the door.
