Episode 2
Author’s POV
” what…what are you talking about?” Simon asked confusedly.
” I thought you said you only have one brother and that’s uhmm, David…..you didn’t tell me about him” Simon said.
” He is David” Vickie said.
” No,…..i saw David that day and that’s not him” Simon said.
” That’s because he’s in disguise so no one will know who he really is” Vickie said.
” c’mon Abby….what’s going on here?……you’re confusing me here, what’s happening?” Simon asked.
” Simon, please have your sit” Mrs Silva said and Simon went to seat on the couch.
” before we tell you anything….. You need to promise not to let anyone know about this” Mrs Silva said.
” of course mom, I promise” Simon said.
” when I said anyone I mean not even your family,…..can you do that? ” Mrs Silva said.
” umn yeah…but mom is everything alright? ” he asked.
” it’s time we let you know this part about our family” Mrs Silva said then nodded to Vickie to begin.
Vickie narrated it all from the beginning, How her father and siblings were attacked by assassins.
She narrated how she lost both her father and sister in the accident, and how Desmond spent two weeks in coma.
She continue to to they were attacked in their home and how Desmond saved them and they escaped to Lagos.
” we had to changed our identity for us to be safe, so we got ourselves a new job and live a new life” Vickie said wiping her tears.
” he’s the reason we are all still alive, simon……..so he can’t die, he have to survive” Vickie said.
” I’m so sorry Vickie, I’m sorry you went through all that ” Simon said then went to hug her.
” you’re not angry?” Vickie asked.
” Of course No………I understand why you had to, only a crazy guy would got angry after that explanation.
” I promise to help in any way I could, whatever you need” Simon said.
” thank you ” Vickie replied.

(Few Hours Later)
Simon and Vickie got everything needed and they set it all in his room and wait for him to gain consciousness.
” He will be fine, He’s a fighter” Simon said as they both sat in the parlour.
” yeah, I believe so” she replied.
” do you think he will be fine now that I know all about this?” Simon asked.
” He already wanted me to tell you, remember the day he told you I’m going to tell you something very important ” she said.
” oh yeah……so this is it, now I know why he’s very protective of you” Simon said.
” yeah ” she replied.
” it’s quite huge though ” he said.
” my brother did everything to protect us, he gave us instructions to follow, and we did as he instructed, no one wants to be on his bad side” Vickie said.
” you seems to be afraid of him” Simon said.
” Just a little, have you seen my in action,……there was a day my sister failed to follow instructions, that day he nearly killed her” Vickie said.
” Don’t you think all of this is too much on him alone?…….it’s quite a lot of burden…..he might ruin himself ” Simon said.
” he wouldn’t let anyone help……he’s stubborn, whenever he makes up his mind nothing can change it” Vickie said.
” He just have to be careful ” Simon said.

(DIG Martins Residence)
” whaaat……wha….what do you mean he’s dead?” Mrs martins said surprised.
DIG Martins narrate to her how his fellow DIGs orchestrated everything because of their evil desire.
” Oh My God, we need to inform the IG about this…….the whole country have to know about this” Mrs martins said.
“NO…..we can’t ” he said.
” whaaat?…..why?” she asked and he draw her closer.
” there are people watching us……they are having us followed, they warned me never to tell anyone” he whispered to her.
” So we shouldn’t do anything?…….just like that? ” Mrs Martins said.
” yes because your and that of our children are on the line here” he said.
” whaaaat”
” They threatened me or else they will come after my family” he said.
“Oh My God” she exclaimed.
” I feel terrible for what happened to him, I blamed and hated myself for letting all this happened to him” Mr martins said regrettably.
” so what do we do now? ” she asked.
” First, I need to make them believe I’m not unto them, then I will do something about it ” he said.
” they won’t get away with this “.

(Two Days Later)
The families were worried that he hasn’t wake up yet just then Simon entered.
” hey babe” he said as they hugged.
” Hy” she replied.
” where’s mom?” he asked.
” she’s in desm….umm David’s room” Vickie said.
” how is he? ” he asked.
” still the same though he’s responding to treatment, he should be up by now” Vickie said.
” I’m sure he will be up soon, let’s just give him more time, he probably went through alot” Simon said.
” HE’S AWAKE” they heard grace shouted from his room and they rushed inside.
Desmond open his eyelids slowly then he saw his family in his room all staring back at him.
Vickie quickly move closer to him and use the stethoscope to check his organs.
” Desmond, are you okay?” Vickie asked staring at him.
” I..uhm…I’m ”
” don’t worry, just calm down and try to regain your strength okay ” Vickie said.
” don’t try to move or stress yourself…….let’s just take it one after the other okay” Vickie and he nodded affirmative.
” Good” she said then Mrs Silva moved closer.
” I’m so happy that you made it back to us………you scared me to death” Mrs Silva said.
” I’m sorry mom, I didn’t mean to out you all into all this” Desmond said.
” it’s okay……I’m just glad that you’re alive ” she said.
” Heyy baby” he said turning to Grace and she move closer.
” hy brother” she said.
” I’m so sorry you had to see me this way……I’m sorry to scare you” he said.
” it’s okay brother, I’m just glad you’re alive………thanks for coming back for us” she said then he turned to Vickie.
” Thanks Vickie, I owe you my life” he said.
” you don’t have to besides I didn’t do it alone” she said then he turned to Simon.
” Hy” Simon said.
” I guess you being here means you already knew everything about us” he said.
” yeah, Abigail told me” simon said.
” Thanks ” he said.
” You’re welcome…….anything for the family ” Simon said.
” you will have to rest for your injuries to healed up, it will take you three months before you can get back on your feet” Vickie said.
” Three months?” he asked.
” yeah…….and you need lot of rest” Vickie said.
” Anything you say doctor” he said.
” But first tell us……who wants you dead?” Vickie asked.
” I don’t know for sure, but I have a lead” Desmond said.
” who do you think? ” She asked.
” I went on a mission few days ago and I recover something they want, I figure out they lied to me about the detail of the file ”
” After accusing them of the situation and told them I won’t release the file to them, perhaps they got angry and sent some people after me” he concluded.
” how do you know they are behind it? ” she asked.
” because I saw the agent that shot me before I fell into the river, he’s working for them” Desmond said.
” this is what I’m telling you about this people, they can never change it’s like corruption is programmed in their system” Vickie said.
” I still can’t believe the great MIA is right in front of me, you’re always on TV ” Simon said excitedly.
” I was so impressed with what you’re doing in that state, I was even hoping they could transfer you here in Lagos, we could really use your help” he added.
” Well everything comes at a price, hope my sister also told you that you can’t tell anyone else about me…and not even your family ” Desmond said.
” yeah she did……trust me, you have nothing to worry about” Simon said.
” when it comes to my family……i don’t trust anyone, I really hope telling you all about this won’t the greatest mistake of my life” desmond said.
” It’s okay Desmond, I trust him you have to trust me……..besides he help saved your life” Vickie said.
” that’s not the right way to talk to someone like that” Vickie cautioned.
” I’m sorry simon, I just find it hard to trust anyone else” he said.
” it’s okay…..i understand everything perfectly ” Simon said.
” How is the preparation going?” Desmond asked.
” Settled and arranged ” Vickie said.
” that’s good” he said.
” how about we leave you to rest…..so you can recover your strength ” she said.
” Thanks Sis ” he said.

(A month Later)
Desmond’s POV
Today is the day we’ve all been anticipating for especially my sister cause today is her wedding day.
It’s been a month now since the incident that happened which almost cost me my life.
I focused on getting back on my feet, I’m still limping a little and I still have my arm bandaged.
According to my doctor I have two more months to recover fully, today I have to go to the wedding in disguise.
I’m just happy I’m able to fulfill my promise to my sister, all I ever wanted for them is to be happy and I can see that she’s happy.
I can hear shout and scream from outside which in from my sister’s friends, probably the bride’s maids.
I got dressed in a black suit and attached the beard and mustache very well, then went out of my room and head to the bride’s room.
” hey ladies” I said as I got to her room with one of her friends helping her out.
” Hy david” the ladies said.
” what happened your arm? ” one of the ladies asked.
” I un… I had an accident ” I said.
” oh my……..are you okay?” they asked one after the other.
” yeah I’m fine now…….how is it going?” I asked changing the subject.
” yeah….. It’s going well” the lady said.
” Please hurry up with it……time is not on our side and please don’t make her look like a masquerade ” I said and they all laughed.
” GET OUT, David” Vickie shouted and I went out.
A While later when it’s time for us to leave, we entered our car and left to the church.
We got to the church and I and Grace went into the church to sit for the program to start.
After a while the pastor called the husband and he came into the auditorium along with his best man.
After the groom got to the alter the pastor called on the bride, she and her bridesmaid came in and also went to the alter.
The pastor begin with a short sermon then theoath and then the exchange of rings, and the pastor pronounce them husband and wife.
After they both kssed the pastor gave them a word of advice and shared the grace and after the wedding was over the two families went to put down our signature.
Which is how I got introduced to the groom’s family and after then we all went to the reception party.
In the long run the wedding was great and everything went well just as planned, I was left alone as everyone got someone to talk to.
My Mom is very busy with everything that she didn’t even notice me that much, my sister already went away with her friends that she invited.
Since this is the life I chose I have no other choice but to live with it, it’s my cross it a must for me to carry.

” Boss All the fifteen men are dead remaining just this one” one of my men Skoda said showing me a pixture of a man.
” Like I told you always, leave this one for me, I find him very interesting……..he is mine, just continue doing what I told you” I said.
” Yes boss ” he said then left.
For a year now I’ve been hunting some people that hurt me so well, I have been looking for them and killed them one after the other.
This last one is very special, he’s mine and I’m going to take my time with him and ruin everything for him just like he did mine.
He will pay for everything and he must pay dearly.
