Episode 8
Desmond’s POV
LOCATION : ROME , ITALY
(Four Hours Later)
TIME: 6:35 PM
We arrived at Rome and I use the Google map to find where the Trajan’s market is located and I realise it’s a few miles away.
” do you speak Italian?” I asked.
” No” she replied.
” well then, I guess we are deaf and dumb here……. Let’s hope someone speak English ” I said.
” let’s go, we are taking the train to Trajan’s market” I said and we started asking around to the train station.
Hopefully we met some people who could speak English and they directed us to the train station.
We bought our tickets and we got onboard as the train took off, the train took about 30 minutes before it reach our bus stop and we alighted and went to the market.
We asked a few people around who directed us to the market.
” Now listen things might get ugly and just for you to know, you are to protect yourself and lookout for the girl that’s the mission ” I said.
” I understand ” she said.
” are you sure cause if you get injured you’re on your own, I can’t be protecting her and doing the same for you ” I said.
” you’re joking right? ” she said.
” No I’m serious……. You agreed to tag along so this it” I said.
” fine” she said.
” good, now let’s get to work ” I replied then we started looking all over the market.
There’s nothing suspicious about this market, it’s just like any other market until I see a building which have securities that are harmed outside the building.
I also notice people entering the building and I have a hunch that this must be the place.
This is the part where I’m supposed to take out the light and enter but unfortunately I was unable to take any of my toys to this mission.
” what do we do?” the girl asked.
” do you have a gun with you? ” I asked.
” yeah” she replied.
” throw it away or hide it somewhere around here” I said.
” whaat…..we will be defenceless ” she said.
” we are going in and we can’t be seen with gun” I said then she looked around and put it in an empty basket.
” what if we get caught?” she asked.
” let’s hope not……..Now let’s blend in” I said then we made our way to the building and the security stopped us.
“Non ti he may visto qui prima” one of them said.
” I’m sorry I don’t understand your language ” I said.
” I said I haven’t seen you two here before” the said said.
” Someone refer me here, this is my first time” I said.
” I need to search you” he said.
” of course……go ahead” I said then he searched all over my body and he pull out my dagger.
” it’s nothing….. It’s for protection” I said then he put it back and he moved to agent scarlet and searched her as well.
He found nothing on her so he let us in and we went in, as we entered I realised the place is a hall filled with people.
I locked at the stage and see girls with shackles on their hands and legs, we move towards them and sat down with them.
There is a man on the stage bringing the girls forward and people make a bid for them one after the other.
” we have to make a bid or else we will be caught” agent scarlet said.
” I know……i haven’t seen the girl” I said as I looked at all the girls on the stage.
People keeps buying the girls as they are being lead out, and I think of what to do to get close enough to the guy selling them.
A girl was brought out and no one made a bid for her cause she’s kinda like a man cause of her muscles, she’s not that good looking as well.
” Did I hear ten thousand euro” the seller said then I raised my hand.
” ten thousand ” I said.
” did I hear 15 thousand” he said again and no one bid for her.
” Ten thousand…..SOLD” he said pointing to me.
After all the girls have been sold people started going to pay and claim their girls, I also went to the room to claim mine but I haven’t paid.
” where’s my girl?” I asked.
” You haven’t pay sir” the seller said.
” don’t you think I should check out my merchandise before paying?……I’d like to know she’s disease free ” I said.
” you can be rest assured of that ” he said.
” I have to be sure first ” I said.
” if that’s what you want ” he said then went to bring the girl.
He came back with the girl and handed her over to me as I checked her out.
” I’ll be back…….let me attend to the rest” he said my then went out of the room.
” be on the lookout ” I said to agent scarlet then she went to the door to see if anyone is coming.
” Please don’t hurt me mister, I want to go back home” the girl said.
” I’m not here to hurt you” I said to her.
” what’s your name? ” I asked.
” Ava” the girl replied.
” Ava, where are you from?” I asked.
” Brazil” she said.
” Now listen to me, I know you want to go home and I can help you with that but you have to do something for me, do you understand?” I said and she nodded.
” Good, have you seen this girl?” I asked showing her Eliza’s picture.
” yes” she said.
” where is she?……where are they keeping her? ” I asked.
” she is among the girls that was sent to the br©thel yesterday ” she said.
” br©thel?……do you know the br©thel ?” I asked.
” No I don’t ” she said.
” he’s coming back ” agent scarlet said then we quickly act normal then the man entered.
” so……what do you think?” the man said.
” you’re right, she’s clean” I said and the man smiled.
” see, I told you there’s nothing to worry about ” the man said.
” yeah….. I can see that ” i said.
” so….. Where’s the money?” he asked.
” Actually uhmm, the thing is I don’t have any cash here with me” I said and the man expression changed.
” I thought you’re serious, the reason I tolerate all this is because I see you’re a new face” he said angrily.
” Everyone else have gone remaining on you here, it’s dark already so I think you should leave” he said.
” Can I come back later for her” I asked.
” if you want her….. You’re going to have to pay next time and I’m going to add to the money ” he said.
” that’s fair enough ” I said then I turned to leave.
I slowly reach from my dagger then I turned quickly and put the knife on his neck and he was surprised.
” who are you?……and how dare you try such a thing in my territory” he asked.
” shut up or her else I’ll slit your Throat ” I said.
” where is she?” I asked showing him the pictures.
” I haven’t seen her before” he said.
” wrong answer…….I’m going to ask you one more time so think about your answer” I said.
” she has been taken to the brothel already ” he said.
” where?” I asked then suddenly he headbutted me which make me staggered back then I see him pulled out a gun.
I quickly grabbed his hand but the gun already go off, we struggled for the gun then I shank him in his torso.
” ahhhhh” he screamed out loud then I punched him on the face and grabbed his gun.
” get ready agent scarlet, it’s about get ugly” I said as I heard people from the hall then I gave her my dgger.
I move to door and look into the hall and I see about 20 men entering the hall, all of them scattered across with guns and they begin to search where the gunshot came from.
” stay here and make sure he doesn’t die” I said to agent scarlet and went into the hall.
I hid behind the chairs and when I have a clear shot on one of them then I shot at him about three times.
To my astonishment the remain standing as if nothing happened then he shot back at me and I quickly hide.
” what the F…….” I said as he continue shooting at my position.
I shot back at him again till I ran out of bullet and he still stand on his feet like it’s nothing.
” you’ve got to be kidding me” I said then I noticed the others coming to my position then I left the place.
They all fire at me as I ran away and pursue after me, I got to another large room filled with mannequins.
I used the mannequins as cover as they all scattered across the room to look for me.
One of them got to my position then I grabbed his hand then punch him on his face.
I took the gun from him then shoot him on the head then he died.
” pheew, that’s good to know” I said then I see the others coming to my direction then I quickly left the place.
The place is a little bit dark which put me in a better position and with the mannequins around made it even easier.
I got closer to another one then jerk the gun away from his hand then shoot him on then shoot him on his head.
I shot at them one after the other, I noticed shooting at the body would be a waste bullets.
I started targeting their heads one after another until I killed them all in the room.
I checked their body to see what made them impenetrable then I realized that they wore a body armour vest.
It’s a bulletproof vest which look like a tight fitting clothes.
I took off my clothes then undress one of the men and remove the vest from him, I wore it on my body before putting back my clothes.
I went out of the place then look around the hall to make sure there’s no one else before I went to the room where agent scarlet is.
” is he still breathing?” I asked.
” yes, what about the securities?” I asked.
” I took care of them” I said them moved towards the man who is still groaning on the ground.
” Tell me where the girl is or I’ll kill you right where you are” I said pointing a gun on his head.
” she was taken to Aticcus’s br©thel” he said.
” Give me the address” I said then he called it out and I went to agent scarlet and collect the dgger from her.
” have a nice journey” I said then sl1t his thr©at and he choke to death.
” c’mon Ava, let’s go” I said then we left the place.
We came out of the building but we found no one outside so we left the building.
” I’m sorry Ava, I guess this is the point we part cause we still have a task to finish…….you will have to find your way back” I said to the girl.
” thank you two for rescuing me” she said.
” you’re welcome, I wish I could do the same for the rest of the girls it’s too late already” I said.
” Take care of yourself Ava ” agent scarlet said.
” Thank you” she said then she left.
” This is getting out of hands, we mustn’t get caught in this country” agent scarlet said.
” yeah, I know…… I don’t like it either…….let’s find the address, we must get the girl tonight” I said then I brought out my laptop.
I searched the address on Google Maps and within a minute I got the location then we left.
We got to the location 30 minutes later the place and we see men with guns outside the perimeter.
I also see lots of men entering the building and some coming out as well.
” I’m going inside, when the shooting starts I want you to watch my back” I said.
” copy that ” she replied then I move along like the rest of the men and I entered the building without being stopped.
As I entered I saw girls in skimpy clothes lurking around, some of them came to me and started rubbing themselves on me.
I manage to get away from them and move ahead in search of the girl, there are lots of rooms in this building and I can hear gr©ans and m©ans coming out of each rooms.
I entered the first room and saw them having sx I kicked the man off the girl and he tried to fight back then I hit him with the back of the gun and he fell down unconscious.
I checked the girls face and realised she’s not the one I’m looking for.
” don’t shout, just stay here” I said the went out of the room.
I went to the next room and did the same to the guy I saw there, I keep looking from each room.
” please, don’t do this I’m begging you” I heard from one of the rooms.
” don’t worry I won’t hurt you okay, I’ll be quick ” I heard a man’s voice then I moved to the door.
” pleas I want to go home ” the girl said then I kicked the door open and found the guy already nked.
He tried to reach for his gun and I shot him then I checked on the girl and realised she’s the one.
” MIA?” she said.
” hi, Eliza……. Sorry I’m late, get dress we don’t have much time” I said then I heard voices from the hallway.
I bring out the gun and went out of the room and started shooting at the guys.
They shoot back at me and I got hit a few times but luckily I put on a bulletproof vest which allow me to shoot openly.
I killed the five men shooting at me then I went back inside the room.
” let’s go, stay behind me” I said then we went out of the room.
I lead her out of the room and we walked through the hallway, I heard gunshots from the entrance.
I called all the girls out and they came out then I lead them out, I saw some of the guys coming at our direction.
” Get down” I shouted then shoot at them till they all died.
” let’s move” I said then I lead them out of the building.
We reached the entrance and I see them firing at agent scarlet’s position then I went behind them and shoot them all.
When there’s no one else around we lead the girls out of the building and asked each of them where they came from.
We make arrangements for them to leave the country tomorrow and after that we look for a place to rest for the night.

Author’s POV
(Mr Martins Residence)
” I’m scared dear, we haven’t heard from Mike since yesterday ” Mrs martins said.
” just calm down…….he won’t let us down, Mike will find her” Mr Martins said.
” I can’t help but feel paranoid……..nothing must happen to my daughter” Mrs martins said.
” I can’t call him during a mission…..it might jeopardize it ” Mr Martins said then immediately his phone started ringing.
” oh……he’s the one calling ” Mr Martins said then he picked it immediately.
” Mike, please tell me you found her” Mr Martins said hurriedly.
” I found her, we are on our way back” Desmond said and he sighed in relief.
” what did he say?…….is she okay?” Mrs martins asked uneasy.
” he found her……she’s okay ” Mr Martins said she was flooded with relief.
” let me speak with her” she said collecting the phone from her husband.
” here, speak with your mother” Desmond said over the phone.

LOCATION : Hanford City, NIGERIA
(Five Hours Later)
Desmond and the girls reached the airport and Mr and Mrs martins was waiting for them.
When the girl saw her mother she ran to her and they embrace each other then she hug her father next.
” I guess my work here is done ” Desmond said.
” Thank you very much Mike, you have no idea what you done for us…….I’m forever grateful to you” Mr Martins said.
” you’re welcome Sir ” Desmond said.
” thank you for keeping my daughter safe” Mrs Mike said.
” you’re welcome ma” Desmond replied then Eliza went to hug him as well.
” Thank you for coming for me…….you’re my hero ” she said.
” you’re welcome…….be careful from now on, it’s not always safe out there to walk alone ” I said.
” yes I understand……thank you” she said.
” yeah” Desmond said then turn to agent scarlet.
” you fought well Agent scarlet……really good” I remarked.
” thank you……. I really hope I can be as good as you are” she said.
” you will be, if you put your mind at it” Desmond said.
” I will take my leave now” Desmond said.
” thank you Mike ” Mr Martins said then Desmond stopped a taxi then he went home.
