(Three Months Later)
I was watching a movie on the TV when one of my men entered and he came to me.
” Boss, when are we getting the party started?” he asked and I smiled.
” Very soon Bosar, very soon” I said.
” What if he found out?……what if something affect the plan?” he asked.
” Nothing will go wrong Bosar, if you all do exactly as I commanded then nothing will go wrong ” I said.
” okay boss” he said.
” Good, so tell the others the boy and his family must not be harmed, not now cause I’m cooking up a plan” I said.
” Sure boss ” he replied.
” continue tailing them and make sure you’re discreet enough……we can’t underestimate anyone ” I said.
” I want everything to be spectacular………He thinks he’s smart……i’ll show him I’m smarter” I said grinning evilly.

Desmond’s POV
After my last mission rescuing the DIGs daughter, Mr Martins gave me a new car and transferred some cash into my account.
I told him he and I are cool so we could talk anytime, he invited me to his house for thanksgiving dinner with his family.
Being with their family remind me of my family and how we separated which is disheartening.
I didn’t get in contact with my them and they do the same, Though I didn’t like the way things went but I know it’s for the better.
Since I haven’t gotten any day off ever since I started this police job I decided to give myself one month rest.
I used this time to rest, gather strength and strengthen my physique for me to be in my best stage.
Now I’m in the parlour doing some paperwork after having my breakfast, then a news came on and I watched and listened to the news with great interest.
The news is about a group of terr©rist called the Al-fazar terr©rists, they’ve been terr©rising the country most especially the east for the past seven years.
I remembered them cause I and my team exterminate them and their leader three years ago.
They took civilians as hostage and we were sent to rescue them, that was all three years ago when i was a soldier.
I thought killing their leader will end all of this, and just like their motto goes ” cut off one head, two more shall grow back in it’s place”.
They’ve gone silent for about three year now since I killed their leader, and now they’ve resurfaced.
For the past few months the news about them is the talk of everyone in the country.
They killed civilians like they’re nothing and they’ve killed up to five thousand people, those people are nothing but animals.
” Good morning Nigerians, yes it’s a very good morning cause today I bring to you a good News ”
” For the past few months the Al-fazar terr©rists has been the fear of everyone ”
” This terr©rist has put a lot of few in everyone, people don’t feel safe anymore ”
” Parents are scared, children are scared, everyone is scared cause any state this terrorist got into, leads to dead bodies everywhere”
” But today I congratulate you all cause the leader of the Al-fazar terr©rists has been arrested in Cameroon ”
” He was arrested in a hotel by the Cameroonians government yesterday ”
” He is to be transferred to the Nigerian government by next week for proper punishment ”
I know very well his people won’t stop until they get their leader back as long as he’s still alive they will continue their ev1l doing.
I opened my laptop and make some research about the transfer and who is incharge of the operation.
I find it hard to know the man incharge of the operation then I hacked into the agency’s firewall.
I was surprised with who I saw and I smiled to myself then I put a call through to Mr Martins.
” MIA” he said as he picked.
” Hello sir, Good morning ” I greeted.
” Morning Mike, Good to hear your voice ” he said.
” yours too, how is your family?” I asked.
” they are fine, thank you ” he said.
” Sir, I need a favour from you ” I said.
” favour?…..this is the first time I’ll ever hear you asking for a favour” he said and I smiled.
” Yes sir……it’s very important ” I said.
” Is everything okay?…….tell me what it is, i’ll do anything ” he said.
” Sir, you heard about the leader of the Al-fazar terrorists right? ” I said.
” yes I did, he was arrested yesterday in Cameroon ” he said.
” yeah, he is to be transferred to Nigeria by next week” I said.
” yeah that’s right, what about it?” he asked.
” I know those people very well and I know they won’t stop until they get him back” I said.
” let me guess, you want to be among the escort ” he said.
” you guess right” I said.
” you should know, this is a job for the army not police……i have no power over that” he said.
” yeah I know…….which is why I did some digging and I found out who is incharge of the operation, You want to guess again? ” I said and I heard him sighed.
” My Brother” he said.
” That’s right, Colonel Bright Martins is the one incharge of the operation, and I was thinking maybe you could help out” I said.
” Fine, I will put in a word for you……i’ll give you feedback ” he said.
” thank you Sir, I really appreciate ” I said.
” you’re welcome ” he said then ended the call.
I can’t let the man get away after killing all those people, children included he must suffer for it.
” Good, let’s cut more head and see it will grow back “.

(Five days later)
After my discussion with Mr Martins five days ago I still haven’t hear from him which make me think maybe it didn’t work out.
If it didn’t work I guess I’ll have to find another way to do then my phone started ringing, I checked the ID and it turned out to be Mr Martins.
” Hello Sir ” I said immediately.
” Mike, I’ve spoken with him and he agree for you to come along ” he said.
” thank you sir” I said.
” They are going to Cameroon tomorrow so that means you have to be there today or very early tomorrow,…..i’ll suggest today cause tomorrow you might miss them ” he said.
” okay sir ” I said.
” And he said you shouldn’t take a plane or helicopter when you’re coming ” he said.
” can I take my car?” I asked.
” yeah, you should probably do that” he said.
” Where is their base? ” I asked.
” Plateau, I will text you the location, just so you know you’re not MIA, it’s agent blackbird ” he said.
” I get it sir…… thank you sir ” I said.
” yeah, anything for you ” he said then ended the call.
” I guess I should start packing immediately ” I said then went to my room.
As I got to my room I went to have my bath.
After having my bath, I went to my closet and bring out the bulletproof vest that I got from Rome.
I put it on first before wearing my actual cloth then I went to the mirror and attached the beard and mustache.
Since this is actually not my mission I decided not to bring any of my toys, not even my laptop.
After getting dressed I heard a notification chime from my phone which turned out to be the location of the Army base.
I went out of my room and went to the parlour to grab my keys, then I went out after locking up.
I entered my car, ignited the engine then I drove out.

(NINE HOURS LATER)
LOCATION: PLATEAU, NIGERIA
I find it hard to find this base, assuming I have my laptop with me it would’ve been so much easier.
But with the help of people around I was able to find the place, everywhere is just confusing cause of the bush.
I drove right to the entrance of the base and I was stopped by the soldiers and they draw closer.
” who are you?…..or show us your means of identification ” one of them said.
” I’m agent blackbird……I’m here to meet Colonel Bright Martins ” I said.
” wait here” he said then he went back in and put a call through to the colonel.
I watched as he speaks with him then he hanged up and came back to my car.
” you’re free to go” he said then pulled the barricade and I drove in.
The place made me recollect my time in the Army, being in the brotherhood is one of the things I love most.
I looked for a spot then parked my car, I got then went to one of soldiers to direct me to the colonel quarter.
” hey hi, sorry to bother you ” I said.
” No problem, what is it? ” he asked.
” I’m here to meet colonel Bright Martins, do you mine directing me?” I asked.
” sure no problem, come with me” he said then he took me to the building and then to one office and I saw the man.
” SIR” the soldier saluted.
” Sir ” I did as well.
” You must be blackbird” he said.
” yes Sir ” I replied.
” you can go sergeant, thank you” the Col. Said and the guy saluted before leaving.
” My brother told me about you joining my team in the escort, I don’t really like the idea but my brother talked about you in ways I’ve never seen” he said.
” And for him to do something like that, it means you’re indeed who he said you are, so welcome to the team” he said pulling out his hand for a handshake.
” Thank you Sir ” I said shooking his hand.
” come with me, I’ll show you where you will be staying for the night ” he said standing up.
” Alright Sir ” I said then I followed him.
He took me to another place packed with soldiers and they all stood up Immediately as they saw the colonel.
” Soldiers, this is Agent Blackbird and he will be joining you in the escort ” the Col. Said.
” you’re to wake up early by three o’clock and meet at the ops center for debriefing” The Col. Said.
” Do you understand? ” he said.
” SIR YES SIR” They chorused then the colonel left.
” Hey man, welcome to the team ” the soldiers greet me one after the other.
” come, there’s a vacant bed over here” one of the soldiers said then he showed me a bed just before his.
” Thank you ” I said.
” yeah, I’m Tayo by the way ” he said.
” I’m Samuel, nice meeting you” I said then I sat on the bed.
” yeah same” he replied I rested on the bed.

(NEXT DAY)
Immediately at three o’clock in the morning we all work up and March straight to the ops center.
We all gathered at the ops center and we met the colonel already there waiting for us.
” welcome soldier, it’s time to move out remember your training, stay strong stay sharp and come back in one piece ” Col. Said.
” just so you know…..there might be circumstances on your way so be alert ” he said.
” do you understand? ” he said.
” SIR YES SIR ” we all chorused.
” Good Now get prepared you leave in 20″ he said and he left then we all made to suit up.
” Blackbird ” I heard then I turned.
” yes? ” I asked the soldier.
” come with me ” he said then I followed him to another cubicle with other three soldiers.
” Agent blackbird, this is lieutenant Marcus Philip, and this is warrant officer Paul Jenkins, this is staff sergeant David Shaw and I’m captain Rawlins” he introduced.
” Nice meeting you all” I said.
” I don’t know the reason why the colonel want you to know about the mission or our plans but it’s an order so I have no choice” the captain said.
” I got it” I said.
” So now listen, the actual plan has been compromised and their might be danger ” the captain said.
” How do you mean?” Lieut. Philip asked.
” the road we are supposed to follow has been destroyed, there’s no in and out of Cameroon for the mean time” the captain explained.
” But There’s another to get back here in Nigeria ” the warrant officer said.
” Yes only one way which is through the desert” the captain said.
” It’s an ambush” I said.
” Exactly, they destroyed our only way back……they knew our only option will be through the desert ” the Captain said.
” they want us exactly where they want us, it’s an open ground and easy to get hit” the Lieut. Said.
” what’s our option?” the staff sergeant asked.
” we don’t have one ……that’s our only way” the Captain said.
” Alright then let’s do this” the Lieut said.
” Gear up, we leave in 10″ he said then I went back to get ready.
We are all dressed and ready equipped with military ammunition for us to use.
” Alright Soldiers…….let’s move” the captain said then we all entered the car, about nine cars contained all thirty of us.
I looked at everyone so good to do something like this with the soldiers again, the feeling Is so great.
They all have a mission which is not the same as mine, I know it’s not going to be easy but it’s a risk I’m willing to take.
