They were currently inside the car, heading to the company, and they seemed to be chatting casually. Both were happy and excited to see each other.
Love. Love is something so beautiful, something so colorful that makes two people crazy about each other.
“You’re already mine, Evelyn. You just haven’t realized it yet,” Martin said, and Evelyn couldn’t help but smile. She playfully hit his chest.
“Pass the test, then I’ll be yours forever,” she winked at him, and Martin clicked his tongue.
“Hmm, you really got me on this, Evelyn. You know this is like a de.ath sentence.
“I dislike seeing a man around you,” Martin expressed, and Evelyn simply chuckled in response.
She sighed and unexpectedly rested her head on his shoulder.
She didn’t know why she did that; she could remember yesterday when she would push him away, but she just felt like doing it.
Inside her, she felt as if she was already dating him, even though he had yet to pass the test.
“We have arrived, sir,” the driver announced, and a guard quickly rushed to open the car door for them.
Everyone bowed down as he walked past them majestically, while some stared at them oddly.
They couldn’t seem to get over the fact that their boss had accompanied Evelyn.
“Hmm, what are my scheduled activities for today, Evelyn?” Martin inquired as they entered the office.
“You have a business deal with Mr. Tom at 8:15,” she replied, reading from the notepad.
“And that is only 5 minutes from now,” Martin noted, glancing at his watch, and Evelyn nodded.
“Additionally, the board members requested another meeting this morning at 12:00 pm,” Evelyn added, and Martin rolled his eyes before neatly hanging his suit on the back of his chair.
“What time is the meeting with Mr. Tom expected to conclude?”
“Hmm, at 9:50,” Evelyn replied.
The telephone rang, and Martin picked it up promptly.
“Yes, okay,” he said and ended the call.
“Mr. Tom is here,” he informed Evelyn.
“Mr. Tom, we offer the best computer equipment available, and working with us will improve your work,” Evelyn stated confidently.
A man in his late 30s sat in the chair, staring at Evelyn as she spoke.
Who was he?
That’s Mr. Tom, one of the wealthiest men in New York who also owns one of the biggest clubs in the city.
He wants to sign a deal with Martin’s company.
He licked his lips as he gazed at Evelyn, which made her uncomfortable.
Martin, who was observing all of this, couldn’t help but frown.
He really wanted to remove his eyes, but he had to endure it if he wanted to win Evelyn back.
“Hmm, sir, are you here to admire my secretary or to sign a deal?” Martin said with a forced smile, and Tom just chuckled.
Evelyn, who stood at the entrance of the room, couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I knew he was never going to change,” Evelyn thought, smiling as she looked at him.
Martin’s eyes met Evelyn’s, and he smiled nervously. He was so scared, thinking he had failed the test.
“Please continue with the presentation, Eve,” Mr. Tom said, and Evelyn nodded while Martin scoffed.
