” I am glad that the Missus can still remember the foods that Mr. Tan is not allowed to eat!” Coby said.

“Huh?!” Kira blurted out!

Tim just silently listen to them.
He then lowered his head to hide the faint smile on his face.

“Of course she does!” Lea was the one to answer Coby.
She then turned her gaze to Kira, “Hey, Kira,” Lea called her best friend.

“Why won’t you tell us about your life when you were away from the Capital City? Where did you go after you left here?” Lea asked.

Kira stopped chewing her food as she raised her gaze to Lea. She looked at her with her puzzled look.

‘Why Lea is suddenly asking about it?’
‘I already told her where I went after leaving Capital City!’

Lea seemed to understand Kira’s look.
“Oh, I just want everybody to hear it,” Lea said.

“Yeah, I am eager to know too.” Ella agreed to Lea.

“Oh!” Kira blurted out.

“So, tell us!” Lea said again, as she revealed a smile.

“Uh,” Kira swallowed her food before she spoke.

“I went to M Province and live there for the past four years,” She said.

Tim chew his food slowly as he listens to Kira.

“Where do you work then?” Ella asked.

“I teach at St. Luke Academy for four years, They promoted me and re-assigned me in the Academy’s main campus here in Capital City,” Kira said.

“Kira, I just want to ask you a question,” Lea spoke again.
“I want you to clear things up.”.

“What do you mean?” Kira asked with her knitted brows.

“Do you—” Lea paused.

“No, I mean, are you dating another man?”

Kira almost choke with Lea’s question!

“What?!” Kira’s voice raised!

“Uhm, I just heard it from someone, that you’re with someone else, is it true?” Lea asked without holding back.

She wants to clear Kira’s name. She wants to prove that Kira is not the kind of person who would betray Mr. Tan.

Tim held his breath. He tightened his grip on his chopsticks as he waited for Kira to answer.

“Kira, is it true?” Lea asked again.

“N-No,” Kira replied.

“Then, who is the man in your apartment?”

Kira stared at Lea.

“We are just curious,” Lea said.

Kira took a deep breath, ” He is Drake Samson,”

Ella’s eyes went wide opened!

“Drake Samson?!” She blurted out!
“The auto care owner?!”

“Yes,” Kira replied.

“Drake is my daughter’s godfather,” Kira added.

“Godfather? That’s all?” Lea asked again.

She was like a lawyer questioning her client in a trial.

“Yes,” Kira replied.

“Uh, so, now, we all know, Kira is not dating another man,” Lea said as she glanced at Tim.

Kira noticed how Lea glance at Tim, and it made her realize something.
Lea planned this dinner to clear her name to Tim.

Kira looked at Lea with gratitude.

Tim did not give her a chance to explain the last time they met.’
This dinner gave way for her to clear her relationship with Drake.

Kira continued to eat silently.
Tim was silent the whole time.

He felt guilty!
He did not trust Kira!
He judges her based on what he saw without even confirming the real story.

It was already eight in the evening when they decided to go home.

Coby and Lea get up from their sits,

“Sister Lea, can I have a ride with you and brother Coby?” Ella asked.

“Yeah! Sure!” Lea replied to Ella, she then turned her gaze to Kira, “Kira, would you like to go with us too? We will send you home,”

Kira smiled, she opened her mouth to speak, but Tim suddenly spoke, “I will send her home,” He said.

Kira turned her head to Tim with her stunned expression.

“Let’s go!” Tim said, he did not give Kira a chance to refuse.

Kira looked at Lea, Lea gestured her to follow Tim, which she did.

At Lea’s car,

“Do you think it works out?” Ella asked Lea.

“I think so, at least now, Mr. Tan knows that my best friend did not betray him!” Lea said.

“Uh, I just hope that they will fix this matter between them,” Ella mumbled.

Lea took a deep breath, ” I hope so too.”

Coby who is silently listening to the two women joined the conversation, “If they will not getting back together tonight, maybe soon,” He said.

Tim opened the car for Kira and she sat on the passenger’s seat.

She did not wait for Tim to fasten her seatbelt. Tim sat in the driver’s seat. He started the engine, and he turns on the stereo before he started to drive.

The song “Only love” by the trademark started to play.

“2 A.M and the rain is falling,
Here we are at the crossroads once again,
You’re telling me you’re so confused,
You can’t make up your mind,
Is this meant to be?
You’re asking me,”

Kira silently listens to the music, while Tim would glance at her after some time.

Tim wanted to apologize to Kira for what he said to her the other day, but he doesn’t know how to start.

The song continued.

Tim cleared his throat.
He couldn’t concentrate on driving, so, he decided to pull over the car.

Kira turned her head to Tim when the car stopped, “Why?” She asked.

Tim reduced the stereo’s volume before he turned his head to Kira.

“I…” Tim seems like he is having second thoughts.

Kira stared at Tim as she waited for him to finish his words.

“I…” Tim gulped!
“I w-want to apologize for what I’ve said to you the last time we met,”

“Uh,” It was the only word that Kira was able to blurt out.

“Kira, I won’t take our daughter away from you, but please, Don’t push me away from the two of you,” Tim begged.

“I want to do adventures with our daughter, I want her to feel the love of a father, I want to give her all the best in this world,” Tim said with sincerity.

“I’m sorry,” Kira said with her head lowered.
“I’m sorry if I hide Yana from you,” she continued.
“You missed the three years to be with her because of my selfishness,” She added.

Kira couldn’t look at Tim because of guilt.

“I won’t forbid you if you want to see and spend time with her. It is also her right to know who her father is,”

Tim turned his head to Kira, “R-Really?!” He blurted out!

His eyes lit up. He didn’t expect this, but he was thankful that Kira did not hold a grudge on him.

“But,” Kira spoke again.

This time, she turned her head to Tim, “Let us not rush Yana,” She said.
“She’s still young, she might don’t understand what is going on, let’s take it easy,” Kira added.

“Yes,” Tim said as he nodded his head.
“I understand,” He added.

Tim couldn’t hide the smile on his face.
Kira did not forbid him for seeing Yana.
God knows how happy he is right now!

He even wants to kss and embrace Kira, but he suppresses his d?s?r?. This is not the right time to ask her to get back together with him.

Tim is not sure if Kira has already forgiven his father. He still has to wait, until Kira finds her way back into his arms again!.
He doesn’t want to rush the two important people in his life.

For now, he is contented that Kira allowed him to see their daughter, at least, he also has the reason to be with her.

‘Dad, I’m going to reunite my family.’
‘I promise I will not do the same mistake as you and mom did,’ Tim said inside.

Tim stopped his car in front of the apartment.

“Thank you,” Kira said as she unbuckled her seatbelt.

“Ennn…” Tim nodded his head.

Kira opened the door, but before she could get off the car Tim suddenly called her.

“Kira,”

Kira froze, it took a few seconds before she turned her head to Tim.

“Yes?”

“G-Goodnight,” Tim said with a sweet smile on his face.

Kira’s heart skipped a beat.
Her heart melts the way Tim said the word “Goodnight”.

“G-Goodnight,” Kira replied.
She then hurriedly got off the car. She felt like her cheeks heated up!

‘Oh!’
‘What is going on Kira?!’
‘You’re like a teenager who saw her crush!’

Kira patted both of her cheeks to calm her self. Tim did not hurry to leave.

He watched Kira until she reached her apartment unit, just then he decided to leave, but before he could start his car’s engine, someone suddenly knocks on the window.

Tim tilted his head to check who knocked.
It was Drake.

30 minutes later.
*In a park.*

Drake was walking back to the car park. He was holding two cans of beer. He stopped on his track when he almost reached the car park. He looked at Tim who was waiting for him outside his car.

Tim was leaning in his car’s hood, with his hand inside his pocket.
His head is lowered as if he is looking at something on the ground.

Drake took a deep breath before he continued to walk towards Tim. He stretches his hand and gave the can of beer to him.

Tim looked at the canned beer on Drake’s hand. He then shifted his gaze to Drake’s face.

Tim stared at Drake for a few seconds before he took the canned beer from him.

“I already know what you are in Kira’s life.” Drake was the one to spoke first.

“What a coincidence,” Drake smiled bitterly.

He took a sip of his beer before he spoke again.

“The man that I admired the most for being such a successful businessman, and the woman that l liked were married,” Drake raised the corner of his lips.

“I first met Kira when she was having labor to Yana,”

Tim keep silent as he listened to Drake.

“I was startled when a pregnant woman suddenly blocked my car. I didn’t know that she was having labor,”

*(Flashback)*

“Help me, please, take me to the hospital, I… I am giving birth tonight,” The pregnant Kira said weakly.

She was wearing a maternity dress and her hair was messy. Beads of sweat popped out on her forehead. She looked like she was in so much pain.

Drake did not think twice to help the pregnant woman. He brought her to the hospital right away.

Outside the labor room, Drake was restless. He keeps on pacing back and forth. He just stopped when he hard little cries from the inside.

The doctor thought that Drake was the father, ” Mr., the baby is a girl.”

Drake did not leave Kira until she was transferred to her wardroom.

Before he left the hospital, Drake tried to carry the baby, but it made him questioned himself, what kind of father would he be?

*Back to the present.*

“Don’t misunderstand why I am so attached to Yana and Kira. If it is not for them, I might be the same as before. The man with no future.” Drake continued.

“They were the reason why I become a better man.”

Drake turned his head to Tim.
“Though I have already confessed to Kira a few times, she always keeps on refusing me,” Drake said honestly.

“I don’t know what’s the reason why the two of you separated. If you plan to get back together with her, I won’t object. But I hope, you will not give her a reason to leave you again, otherwise, I will not just stand there and watch.”

Tim looked at Drake straight to his eyes, “Of course, it won’t happen again,” He said confidently.
