Romina gave Elias a questioning look as he held her waist tightly, he was holding her so possessively that she felt uncomfortable
“What are you doing?” Romina whispered Into Elias’s ear. “Who are you?” He chose to question Steve instead.
Steve’s eyes trailed from his arm around Romina’s waist to Romina’s confused face, back and forth.
“I should ask you that, not the other way around,” Steve replied while Elias scoffed.
“She is my girlfriend, now tell me who deserves to ask the question?” Elias has this satisfactory smirk when he saw how confused Steve looked.
Romina understood he was jealous but that doesn’t mean he should make up lies just to look good.
“Hey,” Romina pushed him away. “What are you talking about?” She inquired.
“Romina,” he called softly.
“Why would you make up a lie? I am not your girlfriend,” she stated and Steve felt like pvnching him.
“But I am courting you,” Elias stated. “Yeah, but I gave a response over and over again,” she replied.
“That response is not final, we both know you feel the same way I do, you are just trying to deny it,” he replied.
“And that theory is your illusion,” she replied.
“Romina,” he tried to touch her but Steve stopped him.
“Let go of me!” Elias growled and Steve obeyed.
“Easy man, you are not the first guy to be rejected, there are many ladies out there who would d!e to be yours,” Steve said only to be sent to the ground by Elias.
“Steve!” Romina screamed as her hand flew to her open mouth.
Elias jumped on Steve and started punching him, Steve tried to fight back but it was not working.
No one would believe Elias is a doctor at the moment with the way he pvnched Steve.
“That’s enough Elias!” Romina screamed as she tried to get him off, Steve.
“Elias listen to me,” she tried to hold him but he pvshed her unintentionally landing her on the floor.
“Ouch,” she cried in pa!n and Elias stopped to look at her, Steve took the golden opportunity and flipped him over.
He punched Elias repeatedly getting even, Romina saw what has happened and rushed to them.
Fortunately for her, Steve was not as agitated as Elias so she was able to get him off, Steve breathed heavily as his lip bleed and his reddened face swell with the passing seconds.
“Does it hurt a lot?” Romina asked trying to touch Steve’s face, judging from the look one can tell he was going into excruciating pain.
“What has got into you?!” She snapped at Elias who was still trying to get over the shock that she chose the strange-looking guy over him.
“Why did you h!t him when he did nothing wrong?” She queried and he spits bI.ood.
“Did nothing wrong?” He asked with a silent scoff. “Are you kidding me right now, Romina? You think he is innocent and I am the only one to blame for this mess?” He asked.
“Yes! Yes, you are! None of this would have happened if you didn’t claim I was your girlfriend and pvnched him first,” she retorted.
“I can’t believe this,” he muttered and went into the mansion.
Romina sighed as she watched him slam the door angrily, none of that would have happened if she stopped denying her feelings and eased him of his pains.
Steve held her hand and turned her to face him, he saw the look on her face and he could tell what was going through her mind.
She was blaming herself, repeating the words.
‘It’s all my fault.’
“I am sorry,” she apologized slowly. “Why are you apologizing when it is not even your fault?” He asked.
“It is my fault you got your face bruised,” she replied and he chuckled, he raised her jaw and made her stare at him.
“You have to stop blaming yourself for others’ pain, it isn’t your fault. It never was,” he assured.
“Your face,” she mumbled and he touched his face slightly. “It doesn’t hurt that much,” he replied with an assuring smile.
“You should visit the hospital or it is going to leave a scar,” she stated. “Do you live here now?” Steve asked as they walked to his car.
“Yes, Neil manipulated mom,” she replied.
“Why here of all places? I mean why this psycho?” He referred to Elias.
“Don’t call him that,” Romina rebuked. “But it is the truth, he deserves to be locked up,” he stated.
“I won’t appreciate you speaking ill of him, he is my friend and what happened this evening was just a misunderstanding,” she defended.
“A misunderstanding? What if it was you he hurt? Would you still call it a misunderstanding?” He asked.
She shook her head repeatedly as he spoke. “Elias would never hurt me, I told you he is not that type of guy.”
“You sound so sure, seems like you have known him for a while,” he muttered.
“We should forget it,” she stared away and hugged herself as the cold breeze hit her skin.
“You like him, don’t you?” He asked and there was silence. “You know what Romina, this is the first time I will hate being right.”
“Good night Steve,” she walked away before he would say something unpleasant that will invoke her anger.
She was going through enough with her family, the last thing she needs is to be involved in a love triangle.
She didn’t look back until she got into the mansion and Diana rushed to her.
“Have you seen Elias? I think he quit being a doctor and decided to become a fighter, he has bruises all over his face and he would not let us treat him,” she reported.
“Where is he?” Romina inquired. “In the kitchen,” she answered.
“You should head upstairs,” Romina suggested and she obeyed, Romina sighed she went into the kitchen.
She saw him trying to clean the cut with wool and a mirror in his left hand, he had less cut but she still felt sorry for him.
She took the wool from him and he raised his head.
“I am a doctor, I can treat myself,” he said trying to collect the wool. “Then you should know better not to get hurt, no one is going to treat you,” she replied cleaning the cut.
“Aren’t you going to scold me?” He asked as she apply an ointment.
“I wish but when I think again it isn’t your fault, you have lots of wounds than Steve,” she replied and placed a plaster on it.
“How?” He asked. “I was sure to disfigure his face.”
She placed her hand on his chest. “Here, I am sure it hurt more,” she replied.
He stared at her for a while and wondered how he kept falling deeper and deeper when all she does is push him away.
“I broke up with Iris,” he blurted. “We have no reason not to be together.”
She chuckled. “I want to deny my feeling for as long as I can but I can’t, you know why? Seeing you get hurt because of me breaks my heart,” she said and peck his forehead.
“Are you admitting your feeling?” He asked. “You gave me no choice,” she replied.
“I love you Romina,” he said. “I love you too Elias,” she replied and he pulled her into a hug.
“Thank you,” he muttered as he held get tighter. “Thank you so much,” he repeated.
A few minutes later, they were having dinner and Elias would not stop stealing glances at Romina.
“Why do you keep looking in that direction?” Diana who has been watching inquired.
Elias coughed. “What are you talking about?” He pretended to be oblivious.
“Oh, don’t pretend! You keep looking in that direction,” Diana pointed at Romina who raised her brow at Elias.
He was in trouble, why did he need to have such a big mouth as a little sister?
“I still have no idea of what you talking about,” he replied.
“Did you break up with Iris so you could date her?” Diana asked and Romina coughed.
“You did,” she snapped her fingers.
“Aunt Romina is our sister-in-law?” Draco asked and Zoey glanced at Romina who wished she had invisibility power to make herself invisible.
“What are you guys talking about?” Romina managed to ask.
“Oh stop it,” Diana waved it off. “We are not kids,” she reminded.
“I am satisfied,” Romina blurted and stood up.
“We have a shy sister-in-law, cool we won’t have to worry about a thing,” Diana winked at Draco and they gave each other a high five.
“Zoey,” Romina called and she stood up, they went upstairs and Elias felt like cvrsing the twins.
He wanted to stare at her face a little more, so he turned to look at them with a scowl.
“Don’t give us that look,” Draco said.
“Why do you two need to be blubber mouths?” He asked.
“What did we do?” They asked in unison.
