CHAPTER 18
ROBERTS’ RESIDENCE
Fawn could be seen in his room, pressing his phone, scrolling through Facebook when he came across Valerie’s pic.
He stopped scrolling and zoomed on the pic, staring at it. She kinda looked familiar to him but he couldn’t remember where he had seen her.
He sighed and scrolled away but came back, like the photo then he click on the page and hit the follow button before scrolling away.
The door suddenly opened and his mom walked in.
“You should learn to knock before walking into someone’s room.” He said without looking up from his phone.
“I don’t need to knock before walking into my son’s room.” Aurora said with an eye roll.
“What do you want?” He asked, still not looking up from his phone.
“Dinner is ready.” She said and he rolled his eyes.
“Not hungry.” He replied.
“Really?? Until when are you gonna remain angry with us Fawn? I agree we did wrong by neglecting your sister when she needed us the most, but it’s already three years now she passed away.
We can’t mourn her forever so stop with this your indifferent attitude, it’s getting on me.” She said sternly.
“Even tho it turns century, I still won’t forgive you two… Please leave.” He said calmly.
“Fawn-”
“Get out!!” He shouted and Aurora looked at him one last time before dashing out.
Fawn sighed and went over to his study table, he took his saving box on it and went back to his bed. He sat down and poured out all the money in it and began counting it.
He sighed when he saw it wasn’t even half to completed. He has been saving up for months now to enroll in his dream college, Meadow College.
It is a school for the rich and they don’t offer scholarship.
“Quit it Fawn. MC isn’t for you.” He muttered.

Valerie sighed when Alecia dropped the call. She took down her phone and dropped it on the bed.
She wrapped her hands around her knees, staring at nothing. So much has happened in her life and is still happening. She just wonders if this is how life is.
Her phone suddenly dinged and she looked at it. She grabbed it and saw it was a notification from stargram.
She just got a new follow. She must looked away but the user’s name caught her attention.
Fawn Roberts!
Her brother!
She clicked on his profile and started going through it. She chuckled sadly as she did that.
She missed him so much. He was the only family member who she had and had always stood by her.
“Bunny bear…” She called his nickname and laughed softly still staring at his pics.
“You really haven’t changed.” She muttered.

NEXT MORNING
The loud ringing of her phone woke her up and she grumbled in her sleep, she stretched her hand on the bed, searching for the phone.
She found the phone and picked up the call without even checking the caller’s ID.
“Lerie!!” Evie squeaking voice came and she simply rolled her eyes.
“Yes.” She said, boringly.
“Wait, don’t tell me you’re still sleeping?” Evie said.
“I am.”
“Damn you Evie! It’s 10am for Pete’s sake.” She said.
“Thanks to you, I developed insomnia and only get to sleep in the money.” Valerie told her.
“Me?? You were thinking of me?” Evie asked.
“Yes, I was thinking of 1001 ways to give you a slow d.eath.” She said and Evie laughed.
“Geez, you’re funny. Anyway, I called to invite you to a dinner party holding in my house.” She said.
“It’s Sunday today.”
“Makes it more fun. See you tonight. Bye!” She ended the call.
Valerie smirked.
“Dinner party at the Zhang’s mansion. Sounds like a plan.”
