Dembe got home and met Ochen anxiously waiting for her,
“Welcome mom, he greeted and got her a glass of water.
“Thank you, she said getting it from him and gulped it down in seconds.
“Thanks, you sure know how to treat a woman right, and where is your brother? She asked giving him back the glass.
“In his room with his baby laptop, but mom how did it go? And why did you take so long? He asked.
“I found her, she went back to her mom, she replied.
“Oh that’s good, anything else? He asked and Dembe stood up.
“Can I eat first? She asked.
“Yes your food is on the dinning, he replied.
“Alright I’ll be out soon, she said and went in to change and Ochen sat down worried.

Minutes later Dembe was done eating and Ochen cleared the plates,
“Mom can you tell me Now or will you continue to keep me in the dark? He asked.
“Okay, she has given birth already, she gave birth after I sent her parking, she said.
“On the same day? Oh my God! Ochen shouted.
“Yea that’s the good news, but the sad news is the father of her child took the baby away. We can’t still find him, she said.
“I don’t get it mom, why will he do that? Ochen asked.
“He feels he can take care of the baby Better than Christiana, she replied.
“Did she agree to this? And I thought she left to her mother place, how did he get to see her and take the baby? Ochen asked.
“Well he helped her out on the road when Christy was in distressed, she was weak after giving birth and he used the opportunity to elope with the baby, she replied.
“He’s so heartless, he has no right to do such a thing. Does the cops knows about this? He asked.
“Talking about the useless people, they had the guts to say there’s nothing wrong with what he did, can you imagine that? Dembe angrily asked and Ochen shook his head.
“How is she now? He asked.
“Broken, hurt and pained, any mother will be, she replied.
“Can I see her tomorrow mom? Its weekend please, he said.
“Alright fine, I knew you will say that already, she said.
“Thank you mom, he said happily but she just looked at him in a questionable way.
“Mom any problem? He asked.
“Don’t tell me you love Christiana, she said.
“Mom, why will you say that? He asked.
“I’m not a kid, she replied.
“Mom she’s my friend and its normal I should care and worry for her, he said.
“Ohhh I’m touched, anyway thanks for the food though it was kind of yuck, she said and Ochen smiled.
“Glad you said this after eating, at least you swallowed it, he said.
“What can a hungry woman do? I just had to manage it so don’t blush because I finished it, she said.
“Alright mom its okay, I agree its yuck but I’m glad you’ve eaten.
I’ll go get you warm water for your shower, he said and Dembe smiled at him and heard Bale voice in the room..
She shook her head and went to his room and saw him happily talking on phone.
“Bale! She called out and he turned and looked at her.
“I’ll call you back please, he said and dropped the call.
“You’re back? He asked.
“Oh nice question, I’ve been in this house for more than 30minutes and you’re here stuck in your room busy with what? She asked.
“How I’m i suppose to know you’re back? He asked.
“How are you suppose to know that because you don’t care and you can never be like Ochen! She shouted.
“Don’t even go there mom, I am not Ochen and can never be like him, how can i be a crap like him? No way so accept that! He shouted and she sIapped him.
“You dare not raise your voice on me you ba$tard! If you know you’re a big boy and old enough to take care of yourself, get your filthy self out of my house and go meet your father okay! Dembe shouted and Ochen held her.
“Is that it? Don’t worry I’ll be so happy to do that. First thing tomorrow I’ll leave your dmn forsaken house for I’m better with my dad, I wonder what he saw in you anyway, probably that’s why he left for another woman! Bale shouted.
“Bale! Ochen shouted and h.it him hard on the face and a serious fight issued between them..
“Please stop it! Dembe shouted and held Ochen begging him, but Bale angrily held a bottle of wine without looking wanting to land it on Ochen.
Dembe seeing that went in, it landed on her head and she stood looking at them as they watched her in shock bIeeding.
“Mom! Ochen screamed and held her as she slowly closed her eyes and fell.
Bale went backwards in shock not believing what he just did,
“Don’t stand there looking at me, go get a cab let’s take her to the hospital! Ochen shouted on him and Bale rushed out……….

There at Gulu that night, Christiana was sleepless and she kept pacing in her room and her mom saw her,
“Aren’t you going to sleep? You are going to break down bad do you know that? Jendy asked.
“Mom i can’t help but worry……… “Sshhhhh go to sleep, tomorrow will take care of itself, Jendy said.
“Mom, has my baby eaten? Mom look at me, just look at me, tell me what i can do to hold my baby and breastfeed her?
While carrying her I dreamed and waited so long for this, now finally she’s out and the story is different, Christy said.
“Christiana can you stop now? Jendyose asked touching her and Christy sniffed.
“Remember you have Dembe and I who won’t let him get away with this, she will be here tomorrow and we will think of something else if the police won’t help us, Jendy said.
“Okay mommy, Christy said.
“Alright now you need to sleep so i can sleep also, can you do that for me? She asked and she nodded.
“Yes mom good night, Christy said and laid down and Jendy left the room……..
