EPISODE 40 (Final Episode)

Kingsley got home as early as possible. It was too early that only scarce number of people were on the streets.
It skipped his mind to inform his mom before boarding a boss home that morning, as he was in a hurry, so he tried calling her now that he just arrived.

“The phone is switched off. It’d probably be a surprise visit then.” He concluded as he thought of his way home.

“Are you okay, Sir?” Favour asked unsure of what she heard. Just then, it felt like a force possessed Frank as he charged at her violently, making her scream and that attracted the rest of the family members who tried controlling Frank but he seemed totally out of control, and his eyes were changed.

“I command every spirit troubling this soul to let him go, in the mighty name of Jesus.” Favour prayed aloud, when she noticed it was beyond ordinary. There was a resounding amen from the rest of the family members and at this point, Frank grew calm.

The ruler who sent the spirit to possess Frank and defile Favour to make her powerless, had been watching the whole drama all these while.

“I didn’t send you there to come back in defeat.” The ruler said to the spirit he sent who came into his house via a portal.

“ She ordered me out in a name that can’t be confronted. I had no choice.”

Kingsley finally made his way home and by the time he was about getting into the compound, his dad was about stepping out.
Mr. Nwankwo’s joy knew no bounds on sighting his son first thing that morning.
“Ah ah. Who am I seeing?” His dad asked with so much excitement as he called his mom.

“Kingsley, you’re back!” His mom exclaimed with a hug.

“But you didn’t inform me of your arrival ehn, I would’ve prepared something nice for you.”

“I’m so sorry Mama, it skipped my memory. I only remembered to call you when I had arrived already, but it was switched off.”

“My dear, this is village o. There isn’t steady light here.” Mama said and just then, K’s two siblings stepped came to welcome him.

“Ngwanu (Oya) come inside let’s have breakfast.” His mom urged but he refused.

“I came here for a purpose, and that is to see Mazi Mbakwe as requested.” Kingsley said.

“But isn’t it too early to go visit someone in a hospital?”

“Believe me Mama, it isn’t.”

It wasn’t long before Kingsley arrived with his parents at the hospital Mazi was admitted to. His siblings couldn’t follow them as they had lessons to attend in school.
After waiting for a while at the waiting room, Mr. Nwankwo had to take his leave as he had to get to his shop early to make enough sales to feed his family.

“When will they allow us see him?” Kingsley asked after sometime.

“Soon dear, very spoon.” Mama reassured.

“This is a typical Nigerian hospital for you.” Kingsley murmured silently as a nurse approached them.

“Great, thank God.” Kingsley said as the nurse informed them that they could now see their patient.

“Wow…why are drips all over him? Is it that serious?” Kingsley thought aloud as they walked into his ward.

“That has been his condition for sometime now.” His mom responded as he carefully moved closer to him.

“Is he sleeping?” Kingsley asked the nurse as she responded in the negative.

“I’m not my son, I’m just somewhat too weak to speak or move.” Mazi Mbakwe managed to say, to Kingsley’s surprise.

“Good day Sir.” K greeted.

“Good day my son.” He responded as he motioned he wanted to be alone with Kingsley.

“I’m so glad you came today, being my last chance to live.” He said to his utmost surprise

“Last….last chance?” K asked, wanting to be sure of what he heard well. Mazi nodded in affirmation.

“Can you….you…..I don’t…..” Words failed Kingsley. He couldn’t believe he would have lots of blood stains in his hands in less than 24hours.

“Indeed God is merciful. Thank God o…..kai” Kingsley thought in his mind as he was still finding the proper words to say.

“You’ve not said anything reasonable enough for human comprehension.” Mazi said, after few minutes of silence and stammering.

“Can you tell me exactly what happened and why you sent for me?” Kinsley finally said.

“I’d explain briefly. I was trying to use someone as a replacement for my son but unfortunately, the Supreme One was so much interested in that soul that he fought on his behalf, rendering me blind.”

“Blind? Mama didn’t tell that part to me.”

“Because you’re the first person hearing this part of the story. I refused to reveal this to anyone.”

“Hmmmm……”

“I lost my balance and fell with a loud scream. I tried opening my eyes but everywhere and everything seemed dark. It wasn’t long before I realized I had been blinded. The heavenly being that appeared to me said; ‘you’d be given back your sight for three days. The three days is an opportunity to make a decision to retrace your steps back to your creator and do his will. Failure to do so would lead to your de.ath’.”

“Hmmm…..”

“He said it in a very stern manner and then I opened my eyes to see myself being taken to the hospital. I had no strength to talk or move so I let them be.”

“Hmmm….so today is the last day?” Kingsley asked.

“Yes…”

“But why ask to see me specifically?”

“You were the first person that came to my mind when he left speaking with me”

“Hmmmm.”

“Yes. Can you lead me to my creator now, before my time would be up?” Mazi asked as K did the needful.

Emma and his dad were beside the pool in the compound, receiving fresh air.
Mrs. Folawe had been recovering rapidly and according to their family doctor, would be fully back on her feet in few days time.

The news alone brought great joy to the family and gave Emma high hopes of becoming stronger in the Lord.

The miracle experienced was what the men were talking about.

“I can’t wait to see your mom back on her feet again.” Mr. Folawe said, staring into space with smiles.

“Everyone has missed her dad. I’ve so much missed her motherly attitude and advice.”

“Yeah. Speaking of motherly advice, Emma when will you be bringing someone home, to introduce to us as your wife?” His dad asked.

“Huh?”

“You heard me. When is that gonna happen?” He queried further as Emma roughened his hair in confusion.

“I do not understand where all this is coming from dad. I mean, we were just talking about mom now.” Emma responded, in a bid to dodge his question.

“Exactly. You know that’s what mom would pester you about once she’s up on her feet, so I’m saving her the strength of laying the foundation. Besides, you’re old enough to have a family of your own, right? So what’s holding you? It’s been a while we discussed something like this you know, so talk to me because I’m curious.”

“Well, I don’t know. I mean I just broke up with the woman I love, so that isn’t on my mind right now.” Emma said.

“Oh….well, just know your mom won’t take that excuse, so you better find something stronger. Besides, now that you’re a true Christian, you should be led to the right one, right?”

“I think so. I mean I know nothing about all that but I know that’s how it should be.”

“Hmmm…….It’d be a wonderful adventure for you, then.” Dad said as they both laughed.

“So what will be the title of this little adventure of yours? Lemme guess……..Knowing His Will? The right time? The Perfect One?” His dad said as he dramatically guessed and imagined.

“When the time comes, we’d know.”

“Well let the time come soon, because your mom is not gonna let you rest in this house.”

“Now that you’ve given your life to Christ Sir, you need to be intentional about getting to know Him more.” Kingsley said after praying for Mazi’s salvation and leading him to Christ.

“You mean my Creator?”

“Yes. This can be done by daily study of the word of God no matter how boring it is to you, praying no matter how small, and listening to the teachings of those who have gone far ahead of you in the journey.”

“Interesting. I’m ready to embark on this new journey.”

“What insult?!” The ruler roared as he watched Mazi transforming into the kingdom of light. He was busy strategizing on how best to get Favor, his target, when the alarm specifically for alert of betrayal of their group agreement by a member rang loudly. He knew what that meant, and rushed to his revealer in the form of a mirror, to see who was leaving.
To his utmost surprise, it was a person of great asset to the kingdom.

“This is a great insult to the entire confraternity! Who gave this mortal the effrontery to cross over to the side of light after having a taste of our power, acquiring territories here and exercising authority over the lesser ones here? No! This cannot be accepted! This is war! It can never be accepted! The penalty for this decision is de.ath!”
