CHEATED : EPISODE 21 – 40

Episode 24.

As he kept chanting, there became an invisible protection round about the arrows he was sending to the Nwankwos, thereby mocking K’s prayers.

Kingsley being spiritually strong to some point, sensed in His Spirit that his prayers were having no effect, and therefore changed his prayer gear.

“Powers mocking my prayers, die in the name of Jesus.

Any power shielding themselves against my prayers, be exposed now in the name of Jesus.”

“What is it?” Mr. Nwankwo said, jerking out of his sleep as a result of his wife’s scream in her sleep.

“Something’s wrong!” She responded, panting heavily.

“Wrong how? I don’t understand. Ehn stop panting nw, or were you jerked out of your sleep by a lion?”

“Something is……I don’t understand….. something is wrong somewhere. I don’t understand the dream, but the summary of the whole thing is something I’d definitely happening right now as we speak, and it’s concerning our family.” Mrs. Nwankwo said as her husband did nothing but stare strangely at her.

“Woman, you’ve come again with this your strange talks. Please allow me sleep biko.” He said non-chalantly as he attempted to retire to sleep.

“But I’m serious. Papa Kingsley this is a very serious matter o, you don’t take things like this for granted.” She stressed as she drew her ears in emphasis.

“He has slept already.” She soliloquized as she heaved a sigh, getting up from the bed and sitting on the old-looking sofa, closest to her.

“I wish I listened.” She reasoned as she dated way back to when she was a young spinster.

“Enyi m, are you sure Nwankwo is right for you?” Her bosom friend Adaeze, asked.

“Of course yes. I love him, and he does too.”

“But you know that’s not what I’m talking about Teresa. I mean have you prayed?” She stressed as the countenance of her dear friend changed.

“Adaeze I have told you! He loves me and I do love him as well. What can ever go wrong? Besides, you’re bein……”

“Everything can go wrong Teresa, everything! Love doesn’t sustain marriage now, or have you forgotten what we’ve been taught?”

“But Adaeze……”

“Marriage is a journey Teresa; a very long one. You don’t take just love to embark on this unknown journey; God should be part of it as well.

On the way you’d face challenges, battles, setbacks and demotions. You would even experience severe temptations which when you mistakenly fall into, results to death.

Love can’t conquer all these, only God can, and definitely will.”

“Okay so what are you insinuating?”

“To me, I do not think that guy is right for you. I mean you tell me everything and hide nothing from me. You complain about how he makes rest of you being to spiritual and all; he doesn’t even share scriptures with you and calls you a religious fanatic. Teresa, what other signs do you need to be convinced that he isn’t for you???” Adaeze asked as her friend thought for a while.

“Ehn but….” Teresa said, trying to look for an excuse but found none.

“Teresa this is marriage we’re talking about, not a relationship. At least I expect you to learn from the marriage of your parents and apply wisdom.”

“Adaeze please, just don’t go there. The thought of it alone annoys me.”

“I didn’t intend to. Teresa listen, a time would come in marriage where the love you have for each other won’t help the situation on ground.”

“Adaeze he would change. I’d rather go into fastings and prayers for him than lose him.”

“Okay o, if you say so.”

“I wish I listened then! Now look how my life has become. He practically ruined my life.
Assuming he was god-fearing, he wouldn’t have done everything he did in the past. God! How do I even go from here? Can I still be that vibrant young Christain I was before love took advantage of my naivety and blinded me?” She thought quietly to herself for a while.

“All these regrets won’t help the issues on ground now. Thankfully, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance so I still have the gift of picking up something in my spirit when there’s danger. What to do, what to do.” She reasoned within as she reached out for her Bible filled with dust.

Kingsley couldn’t understand any longer; it was like he was battling with a force way stronger than him and decided to switch to praying in the spirit.

“This young man knows too much already? How come? Within a very short…” He was lamenting when his warning alarm rang.

“What? Another attack? From who and where?” He thought aloud and searched for answers.

“Mrs. Nwankwo??? Although this attack is defensive but how did she…….how did she know how to pray? Not just pray, pray aright!” He said as he heaved a frustrating sigh.

“This family really is tougher than I could ever imagine. I really need to embark on a spiritual journey. He said as he check his Sand time.

“The waiting has elasped. It’s time to go possess higher powers.” He said as he thought on what to take on his journey.

“It’s a seven days journey so I won’t need much.” He soliloquized as the thought of how powerful he’d be when he returned hit him, causing a broad smile.

“Dear Kingsley, you don’t know what’s coming for you. I’d teach you that before you were I was.” He said with mischievous laughter as he watched him pray via his crystal ball.
