James returned with the doctor and Bale was checked,
“Why is he not saying anything doctor? His father asked.
“Just let him be, he will come around soon but I hope it will be in a good way if he does, the doctor replied.
“Doctor please will he be okay? His father asked.
“With time he will be, the doctor replied and left and He sadly looked at Bale who laid still.
“This is all my fault, I shouldn’t have let him out when he was taken in the first place, this wouldn’t have happened, he said.
“There’s nothing you Can do about it now but pray he gets better, James said.
“Ochen anger is understandable I deserve it, He said.
“When will you talk to him? James asked.
“Not today but i will, he replied.
“Okay I have to go home, will you be okay here? James asked.
“Yes yes I will, thanks a lot, he replied and James nodded and left.
He drove home and met Ochen drinking, and he went close to him,
“What are you celebrating? Do you mind if I join you? James asked but Ochen was silent.
James heaved and sat beside him,
“I’m sorry i interfered in your family matters, but I hope you know I’m your friend and everything I do is for your best interest. Please Ochen he is your father and you cant change that, James said and Ochen looked at him..
“He can only be my father if he was a husband to my mother. Where was he when mom was sick and close to death? We weren’t in the country but he was, yet he let her on her own till she breathe her last, what kind of a man is he? Should I still call him my father when he left us for another woman! Ochen shouted.
‘Please its okay bro I understand, sorry I brought that up. So have you called Christiana? James asked and Ochen shook his head.
“She doesn’t have a phone remember, Ochen replied and his phone began to ring.
He sluggishly picked it up when he saw it was a strange number,
“Hello Ochen, Christiana voice came on phone.
“Christiana? Are you home? He asked.
“Yes we arrived and this is my mom phone I’m using to call you, she replied.
“Oh thank goodness she saved my number that day, and how’s my angel? He asked.
“She’s with her grand mom, how are you doing Ochen? You don’t sound good to me, she said.
“I’m fine just stressed out, he replied and there was little silence between them.
“Ermmm I just called to say I’m home in case you were worried, she finally said..
“I’ll come visiting soon, he said.
“Alright I’ll be waiting, bye, She said.
“Bye, Ochen said too and the line went dead.
He dropped the phone and gulped down another glass of wine while James looked at him,
“What if she feels the same way for you? James asked and Ochen looked at him.
‘Nah i don’t think so, he replied.
“Well I didn’t want to tell you this but I think I should help you two out. She told me she loves you, but she’s only scared thinking she’s not good enough for you, James said.
“She told you that? Ochen asked and James nodded.
“That was when you ran to meet with Bale when he was calm. She’s only scared because she’s a single mother and you deserves the best, he replied.
“Why should she think such a thing? I’m very much aware she’s a single mother and I was there during her pregnancy. Whatever I feel for her is real regardless of her past, why should she be scared and what makes her think she’s not good enough for me? Ochen asked.
“I don’t know bro but please don’t tell her I discussed this with you, James replied.
“I’ll be going there tomorrow, I need to talk to her, he said.
“Tomorrow? Will you tell her about this? James asked.
“No it’ll be a surprise to her, we need to clear this up James, Ochen replied.
“Alright I know there’s nothing i will say now that will stop you, but what about your brother? James asked.
“He has his father to take over, thanks for bringing him anyway, you can help him if you want, Ochen replied.
“What! Me? James asked and Ochen laughed……………

Pius went home with Catherine and couldn’t help but cry when he knew Achen was carrying his baby in such a condition,
“Please I swear I didn’t do it! Kept ringing in his ears and Princess walked up to him with a teary face.
“Honey come, what’s wrong? He asked drawing Princess near.
“Where’s mommy? Where did they take her to? My mommy isn’t a bad person, Princess said and Pius heaved.
“Honey can I ask you a question? He asked and she shook her head.
“When mommy took you away that night without me, where did you two go? He asked.
“A hotel, mommy was always crying but she didn’t tell me why, she replied.
“Why did she come back? Do you know why? He asked and Princess was thinking..
“I heard her on phone and it was loud, it was uncle telling her to go back home to give her information so he will take care of things. I was awake but mommy didn’t know, I saw her so worried pacing around like something was wrong, Princess replied and Pius looked at her saying nothing.
‘But daddy why did they take mommy away? She asked.
“Honey I’ll take care of things okay, don’t cry mommy will be fine I promise you, he replied cleaning her face.
“Have you eaten? And where is your sister? He asked.
“In the room, and I’m not hungry, she replied.
“No Darling we need to eat, let’s go eat with your sister, he said carrying her to the room…………….

Pius made the kids to sleep and hurried off to the station putting them in the Care of the gateman.
Akello was laid off of the charges when he stormed in,
“Why are you setting him free? Pius asked..
“Excuse me, my husband is innocent and the murderer is behind bars already, Akello wife replied.
“That we are not sure yet, is your sister truly the killer or is there something you are not telling us, Pius said sternly facing Akello looking into his eyes and Akello angrily hit him,
“How dare you! Is it not enough my sister is already there, are you going to jail us all for your infidelity! Akello shouted.
“Yes I cheated on my wife and i took the responsibility, what about you? Who is taking the punishment for your action for i know where she was that night Cynthia was murdered, I’m just back from there, now where were you? Pius asked and the cops confusedly looked at them.
“Wait Mr Pius, what are you trying to say? An officer asked.
“This man should not be released, something is still fishy and not until i get to the root of it, you won’t leave this place, Pius replied..
“Officer this man is wickedly insane, Pius what’s the meaning of this! Akello wife shouted.
“I insist he should not be freed, Pius said.
“On what evidence? Do you realise you speaking to a police officer Pius? Enough of all your nonsense, its over now, Akello said and Pius looked at the officers.
“I’m sorry there’s nothing you Can do now except you have a prove against him, and he will be brought back here, an officer said to Pius.
“What! What if he escapes? Pius asked.
“And why should i? Akello asked.
‘You Better not! Pius replied him and faced the officers,
“Take me to my wife, he said and an officer nodded while he exchanged glances with Akello and left with the officer..
He met Achen cuddled up like she was shivering,
“Leave us please, Pius told the officer and he left.
Pius held the gate while she laid quiet,
“Coming to ask how I killed your mistress? She asked.
“Coming to know the truth, he replied and she looked at him and sat up,
“You heard it all from my brother didn’t you? She asked.
“And i also heard you screaming you didn’t do it, is there anything i should know because i don’t get it. Why should your brother say its you when you didn’t despite he loves you so much? He asked and a tear dropped from her eyes.
“I don’t know, but what can i do? There are lot of witness against me, she replied.
“But none of the witnesses saw you ki lled her, Pius said and she sniffed.
“What do you want me to say now? She asked.
“Are you still asking? Think about our baby, will you want to deliver him or her here In such a condition? He asked and Achen stood up and met him at the gate.
“What condition will be favorable? To be in your house despite what you’ve done to me? Can you see the way I’m suffering now just because of you, what Did we do to deserve this? Didn’t i love you enough Pius? Was I not a good wife? Didn’t i manage my home and my work and let go of my job just to be a Better wife and mother to our daughter? Tell me where did i go wrong? Was my crime loving you this much tell me! Achen shouted in tears and Pius head was bowed.
“I’m sorry, he whispered.
“You’re sorry? For all i know there was no better condition for I and my baby in the first place that’s why I hid it from you, and that’s why I ran away from home. But then i thought my son needs his father, but were you there? Achen asked.
“Son? Pius asked.
“Get out of my sight! Please Leave now! Achen shouted and Pius weakly looked at her and walked away and she broke down crying…………
