CHEATED SEASON 2 : EPISODE 21 – THE END

SEASON 2 EPISODE 37

“Babe this is not ordinary. The doctor said you’re suffering from Malaria and I doubt if he diagnosed right because this is more than Malaria.” Cindy said with a worried tone as Vivian came out of the bathroom after vomiting for the umpteenth time.

“Even if vomiting is part of a symptom, stooling isn’t part now abi? Me I don’t understand again o.” Cindy said further as Vivian quietly wrapped herself in her blanket and curled herself up in her bed.

“Babe at least have breakfast. I prepared oats for you, just the way you like it.” Cindy said with a persuasive smile and placed the spoon just before Vivian’s lips who shook her head in rejection.

“I’m not hungry.” She said in what sounded like a whisper.

“I know but just try na. A spoon or two would gladden my heart o.” She said persuasively as her lips slowly parted ways for food to come in.

“Don’t worry by God’s grace you’d be fine.”

“What if what I lost was my health?” Vivian said and swallowed hard at the pain she felt.

“I don’t understand.” Cindy said, going close to her go hear her properly.

“The dream….what if what I lost was my health?”

“Hmmm……God is merciful; I’m sure he’d restore in due time.” Cindy encouraged.

Rose and Lilian could be seen taking pictures in their uniform gown at the wedding reception of their friend.

Cecelia and her husband were children of well known figures in the society so their wedding was no small deal.

The rice served there was enough to go round the guest thrice with some still left.

Thus, Lilian and Rose really enjoyed themselves and ate to their full.

“Omo, let’s go home already. It won’t speak good of us if we’re the last to leave here o.” Rose said to her friend who was carried away with pictures.

“Chill, one last one.” She said and made her pose for a selfie.

“Dmn! I’m so exhausted.” Lilian said as she crashed on Rose’s bed.

“By the way your apartment is dope.” She said after pausing to catch her breath.

“Thank you. You should call your husband and let him know your whereabouts now.”

“Yeah that’s true. I should’ve called since sef.” She said as she reached out for her phone and informed him.

“Done.” She said after about fifteen minutes of phone call.
They gisted for a very long time and fell asleep, as they were really exhausted.

Frank received yet another call from the same unknown number. He was beginning to get pissed at whoever was calling and wouldn’t utter a word.

“Listen, if you know you’re not going to say a thing, why stress yourself and me with your frequent calls?” He said impatiently as soon as he picked the call.

“Hello, good afternoon.” The caller finally said with a shaky voice.

“Good. Finally. What can I do for you, young……” He said and paused for a while.
He could recognize that voice, and if he wasn’t mistaken, that voice belonged to his wife.

“Flora, is that you?” He asked to be sure, to avoid jumping into conclusion.

“Ye….yes, it’s me. Please I….I need your help.” She said, trying hard to maintain a stable voice.

“My help? Where are you? Are you fine? Are you…. Are you crying? Oh my God! Flora say something, where are you?” He asked with no breathing space as she told him her location and he dashed out of his house without hesitation.

“Oya come and gist me, I was so knocked out yesterday to gist.” Lilian said with eagerness in her voice the next evening.

“You too like gist. Well, me I’m hungry and want to eat.” Rose said as she left the parlour for her little dining.

“Just……why are you stubborn like this? Remember I have just have less than three days to spend here before hobby calls me home o.”

“Durh…..you don’t need to remind me.” Rose said, coming out with a plate of fruit salad.

“Care for some?”

“No, I care for gist…”

“Lol……you too like gist. So what do you want to hear?”

“The last time we spoke, you said there was someone knocking asin komkomkom, you know?” Lilian said with a wink that made Rose laugh.

“Yes na.

And I suggested you pray about it so gist me, did you get any feedback? Gist me, gist me, gist me.”

“Calm down o, you’re a married woman now, so you should put this your lady-like love for gists aside.” Rose said with giggles.

“Abegi. How many months have I been in this marriage that you want me to……gist me joor, no change topic o.”

“Well, there hasn’t been any feedba…….wait, I remember one.
I had a dream where I was given something precious, like a diamond necklace or something.

I rejected it at first, but after much persuasion by the person that was giving it to me, I obliged.

He then wore it on me and girl, it was beautiful.
There wasn’t a mirror there but I felt it fitted me perfectly.
Then he asked me why I would be rejecting the good thing God wants to give me, something like that.” Rose explained.

“Hmmmm……..so what’s the good thing here?”

“That’s it, I don’t know either.”

“It could be your relationship life or your………you know what, let’s not play the guessing game here.
Pray and ask God for further directions and meaning of the dream. I’m sure He’d tell you something.” Lilian advised.

“Because left with me, I would say the good thing is your marital life because you’ve found your purpose now and are working on becoming better so, that’s what I feel but let’s not base anything on guesses.” Lilian said further.

“Hmmm……or could it be Kelvin.” Rose thought slightly loud but Lilian didn’t hear her properly.

“What did you say?” Lilian asked.

“Nothing. I was just thinking in line with your guess.”

“Yeah okay but still, pray more about it for a better understanding.”

Kelvin had just ended his three days fast and was very exhausted.

He grabbed a glass of water and gulped it down as soon as he concluded his prayers.

He then sat down and stared at his prayer journal for a while, wishing his prayers would be answered soon as he was really ready to settle down.

“Lod, if Rose is for me, let our friendship blossom into a relationship; but if not, let things die naturally, including what I think I feel for her.
In all these, let your will be done.” He prayed silently.

Alice had decided to follow-up on the information she got from her former boss and satisfy her curiosity of what his plans were and against whom.
She flagged a taxi just after Richard left office with his car that evening.

“Follow that car closely, but discreetly.” She said as soon as she hopped in.
As soon as he parked, she told the cab man to do same.
She quietly got down, asked the driver to wait for her, and slowly traced the path Richard followed.

“This place is lonely and the building uncompleted. What could he be doing here?” Alice curiously thought to herself as she safely got to a window to eavesdrop.

“Here, this is the picture. I brought this to be sure you know who I’m asking you to tackle with because I want no mistakes made.” She heard Richard say.

“Boss, you for trust us na, this isn’t the first time we’re doing this business.” A deep voice replied.

“The name again is Kingsley Nwankwo and this is his pics. I’ve sent the address to you as well, and you’re to attack tomorrow by 8pm.
Remember, make no mistakes.
Properties can be destroyed but spare his life, I’m not interested in his death.”

“Oh my God.” Alice said with a gasp as she closed her mouth with her right hand.
Having her curiosity satisfied, she decided to leave the place before anyone would find her out.

“Please leave immediately” She hastily told the cab man immediately she got into the car.

“Thank you.” Alice said gracefully as she gave him more worth more than the ride.
With a big smile on his face, the driver thanked her and drove off.

As soon as she got to her house, she sat ok her couch and thought of what step to take with what she had heard, and how to save her boss from Richard’s insane plans.

“I’ll tell him tomorrow at work.” She thought to herself as she dropped her phone, changing her mind to inform Kingsley of Richard’s plans.

“When did all these start?” Vivian’s mom asked as she felt the temperature of her daughter.

Cindy had to put a call through to her parents when she noticed whatever was wrong with her roomie was beginning to get out of hand, and they responded almost immediately.

“It’s not up to a week Ma.” She responded.

“We need to take her to a quality hospital. She needs urgent medical attention.” Her dad said as he stared sympathetically at his daughter.

That being said, Cindy helped in packing some of her things as her parents helped her to their car that wasn’t parked far from their hostel.

As soon as Cindy put some of her belongings in the car, they zoomed off.

“I’ve decided to let things slide and give chance for better days ahead.” Rachel said staring into space, while they were alone in their bedroom.

Mr. Folawe has finally told his wife everything, leaving no stone unturned and they hardly talked to each other ever since, except for casual greetings and important conversations.

It took a while for Rachel to process everything she had been told, after which she made a hard decision (for her) to put the past behind her and focus on the future instead; especially when she got to know his past counterparts are after all he has worked for, and possible after his life.

“But we have to pray more often and plead the blood frequently because as it stands, your ex counterparts have a legal hold over you and what you own but I believe the mercy of God would speak for, and overrule every judgement against you.” She said further as George heaved a sigh of relief and smiled widely, happy she was finally letting things go because the phase of silent treatment wasn’t funny to him.

“Thank you for your willingness to stand by me in this tough time I need you the most. I’m grateful.” He said as she stared at him for a while and nodded.

He nervously reached out for her hand, silently praying she wouldn’t resist. Hopefully, she didn’t and that relieved him the more.

“Thank you my love, I’m grateful.” He said with a smile.
